Insane prices! but the value, use, experience, and enjoyment are what keeps me upgrading most years.

One question - Does anyone know if they’ve done anything with the telephoto camera vs the X? Doesn’t seem like they have, but surely it has the new sensor at least!?

Was originally planning to pre-order the 64GB iPhone Xs Max but a friend has offered me £500 for my 8 Plus which beats any trade in offers. Only catch is I have to wait until November for him to buy it off me. So I get to be jealous about everyone getting their new iPhones before me. The positives about that are I can sit back from any early issues and delve into the reviews and tear downs of the new phones while I wait.

Good luck to everyone pre-ordering tomorrow morning! :)

So i have an EE annual upgrade plan from X release date on 2nd Nov 2017 (£82.99p/m)... was sold as 'being able to upgrade to the latest phone every year' well technically i will but 6 weeks late. They won't allow anyone on these plans to upgrade 6 weeks early unless paying off the remaining 13 month contract (24 months with 12 month option to hand back the phone and upgrade)

Anyone in a similar position? EE are useless and given the monthly fee i am paying their customers service is beyond poor.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Each country’s government charges different import taxes on goods though. I agree they’re expensive, but Apple have sold 60 million iPhone X at £1k each, so it’s not like people won’t pay it.
You have no proof of 60 million iPhone X being sold. If you do have proof from Apple provide it. They would have sold a lot, but I doubt it was 60 million.

Does everyone who went for iUP have a very decent credit rating?

I am thinking I will try and reserve through the app for iPhone upgrade.

One thing I can’t remember is when do you choose to reserve for the iUP? Is it at checkout? I’m normally in so much of a rush I don’t pay any attention to the options :)

Mate if your keeping it for 4 years 64gb is crazy talk!!!!

I’d be going 256gb all day

Not at U.K. prices I wouldn’t! Plus I stream more now a days.

Pretty sure the cpw phones locking to first sim is no longer the case. Memories of a pretty long debate on this last year and I called and spoke to a number of people at cpw saying that this locking was no long the case.

It was the case with the iPhone 7 for me so they could well have changed the policy when you called them.

I can’t find any exact figure right now, though I’m sure I recently read that, but they sold 41.3million iPhones (all models) in the third quarter alone this year, with an average selling price of $724. We can complain all we want but they’re making more money than they ever have, so why on earth would they lower the prices.

I'm still flabergasted at the price.
Only gonna get one If I can somehow get one at a discount, max willing to pay is £900, which is still £200 more than I paid for my 7 128GB.o_O

256GB If I do, I might be okay with 64gb but I dont want to get to the point where I find my habits change and I start running out of space.

Looking like I will be keeping my 7, I dont like the XS enough to be paying 1000+

Has any one seen price plan prices yet for EE?

Also, regarding eSim, if I ordered through ee, but then my work sim is Vodafone, will I require the phone unlocking to be able to use a sim from another network?

Guessing be there as soon as pre orders go live

Least I will know tarriffs when I upgrade in November

I’m in a similar boat, as a lot of people probably are.

Bit annoying but what can you do. No chance paying my contact off.

Does anyone know if EE let you use 20% student discount on new iPhones?

If you can find a non discounted plan it might be possible, but most have promotional discounts or extra data, so they tend to be ineligible.

You won’t find a figure because Apple never discloses it’s sales figures. And the reason they are forever increasing is because the smartphone market is slowing down dramitcally. And they are now making more profits then ever before on less sales by increasing massively the sales price.
It has nothing to do with how many they’ve sold and everything to do with milking the money cow.

They’re a publicly traded company, so they have to disclose their financials.

I agree that they’re milking it now, no doubt about it. My point is that it’s working for them.

Finances are a LOT different from sales figures... they include a ALL iPhone sales in the finances. Now they have two devices priced very high, well see what those profits are. Although I suspect the 8 will be it’s best selling model, the 8 Plus IMO is much better then the new XR.

Isn’t that what we’re interested in here?

No because you stated how many iPhone X they have sold, you’ve now changed the discussion to finances. But not discussing it further now as it’ll take this thread of topic and get posts deleted..

ON TOPIC..

Well I can get 3.5% off at John Lewis, better then nothing I guess. Need to see this XS Max.

I think I’m split between:
iPhone X 64GB in silver on sale
iPhone 8 Plus 64GB in silver at the new cheap price
iPhone 7 Plus 128GB in matte black
iPhone XS Max 64GB silver

Need to see how much better Face ID really is.
