Ive gone for my first gold phone.. the XS Max, 64Gb, there was some problems with the app, but managed to get a launch day delivery, I've gone for the midnight blue leather case as well which should compliment the gold stainless steel nicely.

I'm quite surprised how smooth the process was....

As soon as the Apple Store App went online, I clicked on the small avatar in the top right of the app (on the 'Discover' tab) and followed the IUP links all the way through to the end. Managed to reserve my iPhone XS the very first time! There's obviously loads of stock....

Mine went ok too but, was panicking as it asked me to fill in my address again. I already did this last night? I was expecting all to go wrong but all ok.

EEs plan prices area joke. Three has great prices.!!!

£100 upfront £59 all you can eat data for hte XS even the xsmax is not much more. Compare that to EE's offerings. SAdly im tied into EES upgrade program.
Three uk service has started to degrade yet again. (Speeds getting terrible after 3pm sub 1meg in city centres eachday. 70meg 80meg @ 3am lol)
I starting to noticing they are overselling sim plans and mobile phone plans for way to cheap to gain customers.
I cannot imagine what the service is like after next year.

I’m in London and was with three, good 4g at home but where I use my data the most, namely my commute into the city, it was awful.. even worse near London Bridge.

Ee has been a massive improvement, great 4g speeds, 4g roaming so get when travelling and £100 quid back.

Getting this now at home

Hold out for Black Friday deals, usually something good there.

I now know what you guys mean about three service tested in London yesterday 3pm and 4pm three uk speedtest two contracts getting around 1meg or less EE getting around 40meg

Three is overselling the service for way to low just to gain customers.

Anyone that upgraded with EE...

If your pre-order is being delivered to an EE store for collection, can you track your order and tell me is it says delivery is going to the store?

When I track mine, it says delivery is to 'your address' but I selected store collection...

I've been with Three for 10 years now and decided to swap to EE, although the EE price plan was £20 a month more than what Three was offering I wanted the flexibility of having the dual sim option open to me, and may consider a watch down the line so EE was the option. Three have said they are looking into the sim option also but they had been saying that since the X launch and still not done it so wasn't going to hold my breath. Got my PAC code also in 10 minutes so roll on next Friday

Just signed up for iPhone Xs 256Gb Space Grey with Three for £69, and that upgrades my plan to unlimited data, calls, texts etc, plus handy for when i'm in Ireland as can use my allowance for no extra charge. £1656 in total over 2 years, that means it's £507 or £21.13/month once phone cost is taken out.

edit: getting it on launch day after ordering 3 1/2 hours after pre-sale when live. (last time i ordered pre-sale the phone arrived the day before official launch)

I thought I'd manage to stay away from this thread this year.... but no, here I am... hello again :)

Black 256gb Max ordered at 08:05 - delivery on Friday 21st Sept
Nike+ Series 4 GPS+Cellular ordered at 08:07 - delivery on Friday 5th Oct (I'm still using my Series 0 launch watch, so this will be an amazing upgrade!)

...yea same here! I'm really toying with ordering a 44mm and getting it on Finance, which is how I bought my Series 0. Looks like delivery dates have slipped to 15 Oct - 22 Oct

sweet, at least we've got the reservation page to keep hitting up

going to go protector-less this year, might as well risk it being on IUP and having apple care... will still keep it in a case though

:eek: ....you're a braver man than me - have never gone protector less or case less for that matter, even WITH Applecare!

I know we have seen a few topics on no annual upgrade if we bought last year but spoke to EE but for a £100 upfront cost they let you upgrade to the upgrade anytime plan

getting my phone 21st they said.

so if you want it on launch day ring EE and do the upgrade anytime plan

Signed up for an EE contract this morning but I've changed my mind and I'm going to go with the iUP program instead (luckily I managed to reserve one!). Is it easy to cancel?

I think if the Max hadn't made an appearance, I would have stuck with my X.... I know the S upgrades are always 'internals' but this year is especially 'meh'

....my XS will be good upgrade over my existing 8 Plus but I'm with you - if I had the X from last year, I would not have upgraded this time around. I have had all the non 'S' models - iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, the 5, the 6, the 7 and the 8 Plus but have never upgraded to the 'S' model as they have never been worthwhile upgrades.

I’m in London and was with three, good 4g at home but where I use my data the most, namely my commute into the city, it was awful.. even worse near London Bridge.

Totally agree with London Bridge - it still is a complete nightmare with data, even on EE. When I was on O2, data was pretty much non existent in and around the train station (I commute here every day) until my train would physically leave the station. When I switched to EE, it did improve but is still quite slow until trains actually leave the station.

I think it's just down to the sheer volume of people using this station at peak times all trying to use their phones to access data - especially now that the station has recently been given a make over and has more than doubled in size...

Don’t think you can blame Apple because the carriers are not taking up this option.
I can blame Apple for releasing a real dual SIM phone then limiting it to 2 countries. It would have been far better for customers to just release those phones worldwide. ESIM is a step backwards towards giving carriers more power and customers fewer options.
