If you’ve got the cash, nothing stopping you paying it off once they’ve credited your account with the £100.

It’ll appear on your credit file, depends on how bothered you are by that, determines whether it’s worth the £100 saving, I guess.

Anyone on EE ugraded from an X to an XS/XS Max? If so, did you keep your handset or planning to send it back?

I’ve read on EE forums that EE are charging people £310 to keep it
Check what you’d get for it trade-in: you might be better paying EE off then trading it in e.g. a 256gb is going for £570 trade-in on O2 recycle.
I use a case and have insurance with my bank so not sure AC+ gives me anything
Extended tech support (which you may or may not need) and the ability to get an express replacement (where they send you the replacement phone before you send your one back) spring to mind. Also you are just dealing with Apple if you have any problems, who seem to be very good about sorting replacements incl. accidental damage claims out quickly - you just go into the store and they swap the phone out, or they send you an express replacement very quickly when you call them (next day the time I used it). Your bank might not be as fast paying out if you so you could be left phoneless for a while while you get a replacement sorted. Depends if you think any of those is worth it.

I joined the IUP last year with the 8Plus. If I reserve an XS Max and then change my mind and decide not to pick it up is it going to cost me anything? Is it a problem or do Apple just release it back into stock? Can I cancel the reservation if I change my mind?

I'm debating if I need the upgrade and may or may not go ahead with it but want to reserve in case I do and then by the time I decide I do want to go ahead the wait time is massively long.

Anyone considering getting the Apple Folio case?

I would have but that extortionate price of £99 is just plain ridiculous.

I have heard mixed reviews though - some saying that becuase the flap moves around, it will constantly light up the iPhone screen (the flap turns the screen on and off) when in a pocket and will end up causing battery drain.

I fancy one of these Electric Tide Otterbox cases from Apple, https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/produ...action-series-case-for-iphone-xs-max?fnode=99, but they’re not available for a couple of weeks

....sorry but is one FUGLY looking case  - the back of it is gonna be one hell of a fingerprint magnet.

Good job no one is forcing you to buy one, eh.

Don’t see how it’d be any different to any other, clear, plastic case, hey ho.

My first case was delivered yesterday, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear version (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GTF17NV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Obviously I'll remove the inner sticker cover thing when I get my phone!

Seems good enough for the time being until I decide whether or not I can justify £55 for the leather case, got a size comparison with my current X for those interested.
Wow. It’s a massive size difference. Going to take some getting use to

Looks more than it is I think because the X in that photo is caseless and the XS max case is obviously bigger than the actual phone.

Yeah in fairness, case on it's not *that* much different. (Apple leather case on the X)

Would you like a cloth to clean up the back of that leather case?

Good seeing them side to side reinforces the plus/max form is just too big for me for everyday use

I might give a couple of :apple: silicon cases a go this time, my current favourite colours are the stone & the forest green. I hope :apple: add the latter to mix

I am not a fan of the leather cases; I had the Midnight blue on my 7+ back then and it got dark in just 2 weeks with scratches.

I would typically get a cheap & cheerful case from Amazon; i had an ESR silicon snug fit clear case /chrome borders on the X for £6.99 , best buy i’d say:). I have one on order for the Max in the interim

Has anyone had any good customer loyalty incentives from EE. I am currently paying £37 a month for a Sim only plan that gives me 20gb plus £5 for my Apple watch LTE plan plus £10 for Apple music.
My annual contract expires on the 16th September so two days time.
I called EE to ask what discounts they could offer to renew my sim only contract. I don't want a phone or watch as i have ordered an Xs Max and Stainless Steel watch directly from Apple which i get next Friday so i am looking for Sim only.
EE can offer me no discounts other than a £4 reduction on my phone plan if I apply the 20% government organisation discount that i am entitled to.
Very disappointed in EE. I would have thought they would have tried harder

Guys what kind of cases you will buy for your new iPhone XS?

I ordered 256GB Gold model and I always buy case but I don't know which one. Definitely not the leather case cos mine looks terrible on my 6S Plus.

What are your types?

May I ask is that 20% government organisation discount specific to who you work for or is it an EE option that applies to all government organisations ? I ask because I work for a government department.

The offers in the EE shop are better than what you're paying. (20GB/£20, 40GB/£25). How about one of those?
