I was actually thinking about the same case! :) Did you have silicon case before? How they look after a while?

The official silicone cases are OK, but how pristine they look over time depends largely on how you use your phone.

I pocket my phones in trousers and jeans and the first thing to go on the silicone cases are the bottom corners, which end up exposing the plastic inside. The next problem is the cases will slowly lose layers of silicone with use, where certain areas will look like they're peeling back. My wife's silicone case still looks mint because she usually stows her phone away in her handbag and rarely pockets it.

What the silicone cases have going for them is colour retention. I had a white case and it still looked white after 18 months of use with no yellowing at all.

Finally, the silicone cases end up feeling greasy over time and require periodic cleaning, though this largely depends on how much oil your hands and fingers produce, how greasy your face is etc.

Just called EE, was hold I’d need to cancel order and do it online. Thing is I can’t online as officially I’m still in contract

Held up really well, a few minor scratches but that’s the case doing it’s job. Had the dark olive, not had a light case before so interesting to see how that fairs

Normally you can upgrade if within 90 days of contract ending? Or take out addicitoonal line, then sell other phone and use it to pay off old contract?

I have the iPhone X right now but have a reserved Xs max to collect in store on 21st as I miss the bigger screen. I paid in full during the order but I’m thinking now IUP would be preferable, mostly for the included AC. I’ve seen other posts in this thread and others saying you can just ask to change in store at pickup time, but does anyone know if it’s possible to avail of the Apple trade in on my current X and take out IUP? So I wouldn’t be doing £1049 on IUP but it would be a lesser amount. Anyone done that before?

Not sure but you could get the trade in valve from Apple and just pay Barclays off that amount. Wouldn’t reduce you’re monthly payment but just the length. Would also mean you’ve made your payments early so in theory upgrade early (if there was ever a need to)

You’d need to sell/recycle the device yourself and settle up with Barclays directly. Remember to cancel your Apple care if you do that

iPhone Xs Max ordered on annual upgrade. 256gb in Space Grey with EE. Just been advised that they are still aiming for release day delivery which is good. Now just need to sell my X...

I see that we have created our own UK thread away from the EU thread!

Anyway, has anyone ordered from Vodafone? They text my order number but when I go to track the order it says that my order number is invalid!

They were a bit of a shambles to be honest as you could only call them to order on the day.

I ordered an Apple Watch 4 as well but I was not overly confident with the sales reps that I was talking to.

Apparently, they only stock Gold aluminium stainless steel in the 40mm and the darker grey stainless steel in the 44mm.

I ordered from Carphone Warehouse a new contract from Vodafone. I only got an mail with confirmation of an order, and later with congratulations that order was accepted.

I just ordered iPhone XS Silicone Case - Stone from Apple Store, thanks to everyone for help! :)

Ordered via Very at 08:03am on 14/09. Logged into my collect plus account to change my email only to find that I already have a tracking number for the iPhone! Albeit it does just say "parcel with sender".

Thanks.

Looking at other options. Does anyone know if I wanted to end the IUP early can I take my 8Plus to the Apple store and hand it back and they'll use it to write off the rest of the loan?
I only ask as for the same £69 up front payment that the IUP ask for and for only 47p a month more I can get an XS Max on O2 over 2 years. To do the same data on O2 sim only and the same handset via IUP will cost me £12.36 a month extra.
However, it all hinges on me getting Apple to take the 8Plus back and settle the loan agreement.

I think you can only take in your 8 Plus to trade in early if you have already made 11 monthly payments but someone can correct me if I am wrong! @Jinjin ?

Personally, I would never go back to 2 year contracts. If you decide to do this, what are you gonna do this time next September when the next iPhone is released? You’ll be tied into your 2 year contract and won’t be able to upgrade or anything until the following year!!

If you use this code: employee20hsd741
It’s an nhs exclusive discount, you can get it for your friends and family too. Give it a go.

Thank you for that. I used that code and got 20% off on my SIM only upgrade. I now have the £25/month plan that gives me 40GB data plus unlimited minutes and texts for £20/month. Before I was on a £21/month plan which gave me 18GB of data plus unlimited minutes and texts. So I'm no paying £1 less a month but getting an additional 22GB of data.

Councils, NHS and emergency services. I probably would think the civil service as well

Thanks. I used the code Watkins18 posted and I got 20% off.

Was it this one by any chance ~ https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FLQH...olid=3RZCT0AHY6ZQR&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
It’s the one I am considering.

That's the one I got. It's the same as the one I currently have for my iPhone X.

That's an awful price for SIM only. I've just signed up to unlimited texts and minutes and 40GB of data for £20 per month on a 12 month agreement. Should be £25, but I get 20% off through work.

I did the same just now.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Hmmm I’ve changed my mind lol! I’m going to go to an Apple store and check out these phones first before deciding what to do. It’s funny but the XR LCD is more advanced then the OLED screens as it’s brand new new tech. It’ll give me a chance to see the reviews then too. I want to know how much better the new camera is as it may be noticeably so.
In fact the XR screen tech could be what the new iPads get. Yeah I need to look at these phones and try them out for size in real life.

I used to be on EE but when they merged with BT they turned off some transmitters in my area, and thus the 4G signal went. Shame as their signal speeds are insane, so I moved to Tesco Mobile which is cheap as, I just about get 4G and their signal is stronger then the others, this is due to the lower frequency they use. They use O2.

I'm sure the XR Screens will look lovely, but they're not even 1080p... on a 6.1" display. That's disappointing in my opinion.

I've made the 11 monthly payments, so that bit is covered. It's just if I can take it back without taking the upgrade through the Apple store.

A 2-year contract isn't that bad (I've already brought it down from the recommended 3 years), however, I just can't justify the extra cost of the IUP through Apple.
I'm looking at O2 for the contract as I've a friend who can get me 50% off the airtime part of the plan, so it makes it a bit more affordable.
