You're killing me with this poll, man! Lowercase letters, and the iPhone 9 is missing its uppercase P!
[doublepost=1535713743][/doublepost]
Source? that's a very definitive phrasing you're using.
Well it’s what’s been rumoured.
[doublepost=1535830690][/doublepost]
Yeah but only if it’s £999. If it starts from £1200 then either the contracts will cost more, or the phone will cost more on upfront costs.
Depends on the model

Mine cost more as I got the 256GB model.

Let be honest I was about to wait till November to sign for another sim only deal I cannot see 3 keeping this £16 30gb deal any longer with all the perks they give away with this plan.
The best thing about these unlimited binge you can tether unlimited with netflix without using any data allowance.

Where is this sim only plan you’ve seen? I can only see three have a 30gb deal for £18..

Thanks! I’ve not used quidco before I’ve downloaded the app and been browsing.. it says at the bottom of the three page that cashback is not given for upgrades, special deal or existing customers

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I first remember the iPhone X came out last year three uk was offering all u can eat everything £117.
O2 was around £90 with 50gb data package first launched
Now O2 new plans are showing iPhone X with lowest plan 1gb data limit £63 for 24 month contract with £30 upfront.

This is the main reason I purchase all my devices outright.
Me only paying £15 for all u can eat data sim with unlimited minutes and text on my iPhone X.

My new iphone X plus or iPhone X Gen 2 purchasing that sim free to be honest. I just joined another sim only contract on three uk for £16 with 30gb unlimited text and minutes with unlimited binge with £60 quidco cashback taking my 12 month sim contract to £132. Bargain to be honest.

Don’t need to tell me :) I’ve been on SIM only contracts for 2 or 3 years now. Where I live I can’t get only get a 4G signal on O2, so I’m with a Tesco Mobile currently as they use O2’s network. Not as much for your money as 3, but I like their service. I tested all the providers with pay as you go cards to know who’s signal was the best.

For the usage I need, SIM free and buying the phone is much cheaper for me then a contract.

Oh okay. Why does it take so long to receive the cashback?

Just the way Quidco works. Been using them since 2010 and had close to £800 cash back over that time. Things like insurance, holidays etc there’s always some deal on quidco.

The phone deals are usually caveated for new customers etc.

I got my current EE during (new customer) last Black Friday which gave a £100 gift card too. Saw on quidco a deal for £60 cashback as well so tried my luck as it did say cannot he used with other offers. It initially tracked but after a while it was rejected.

anybody tempted by the iPhone X new gold colour and apple watch in gold SS?

It does look good in the leaked pictures but it’s hard to tell what it’ll truly look like.. I do like the look of it in that though and I’m the sort who’s only ever had space grey. It’s definitely going to be the one that sells out right away though

Quick question regaridng pre-orders.

I'm either planning on buying sim free or iPhone Payments 0% 20 months, in regards to the latter. How does pre-ordering work? I know buying sim free is straight forward, but If you intend to finance it through Barclays. Do you reserve one during pre-orders? Or do you have to wait until release then reserve one?

I presume its similar to the Upgrade Programme process but Im not sure how it was done last year?

Reserve one during preorders for in store pickup and when you go to collect you can tell them how you want to pay.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure that financing Apple tech is no longer possible - it was discontinued by Apple a few months ago. The only way to finance an iPhone is via the iPhone Upgrade Program.

EDIT:

Confirmed here : https://www.macrumors.com/2018/04/24/apple-united-kingdom-financing-options/

That was more traditional credit but this was also re introduced again.

All previous options are still available. I’ve kept a summary in the first post faqs

1) https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/browse/financing

2) https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program

3) https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/payments/overlay

Don’t know why anyone would do 1) given you can get 0% through 3)

That’s exactly what I did last year for my launch day 8+.

However, this year I’ll be away from the 16th to the 30th, so I’m wondering what I’ll be able to do this year (I’m planning on an X Plus).

Reverting to the + model and its looking like the 64GB for me yet again:rolleyes:; that said am only down by 34GB so far

I'd have the 128GB model if offered though; I have no use for the 256GB

Same here. I'm looking at the Xs but clearly have no need for 256GB. 64GB is just fine and 128GB would be nice to have.

Do you not have to pay online when you pre-order? Just went through the process of ordering an iPhone x online and there was no option to pay in store? Had to pay online and then collect in store. Is it different for launch day pre-orders? Thanks.

Just thought I’d butt into this conversation.. I thought the same thing and tried to reserve online a iPhone X like you just said and couldn’t. I went onto web chat to ask why and I was informed that this service is not provided at the moment because they don’t feel it necessary as it’s unlikely that any product would sell out in store to require the ability to reserve online. When the new phones are out it’ll be a different matter and they’ll allow us to reserve online to prevent missing out.

Thanks. So you can then just use upgrade program, iPhone payments or buy outright in store?

Thanks for that - didn’t realise these options were still available. In that case, I will more than likely use a financing option (which is how I funded my Series 0 Watch) to fund my Series 4 Watch as I’m expecting the prices to buy outright to be ridiculously expensive......
