I am not seeing as great of battery life as everyone else but I have everything turned on and use the watch at least an hour a day with exercise and music streaming over cellular. Was surprised to lose 10% last night while sleep tracking after seeing 4-7% most previous nights.

Battery life is still very good but I have trouble getting through that 2nd day without a charge at this point.

Two days, have 37% left. AOD off. Conclusion for me is that Apple gave us more than advertised battery life and it is abundant in thread. Good stuff.

Yep, Apple tends to give realistic and honest estimates and usually undersells.

Another data point, this one disappointing. I took the Ultra out for a 1-1/4 hour hike, about 4 miles and it burned 21% of the battery (97 > 76). I went out with the following running,

  1. Cellular
  2. WorkOutDoors
  3. Pocket Casts
  4. Aeropex headphones
I'll try the same thing with the generic Apple app and see what happens. It'll likely be better as it usually outdid WorkoutDoors for battery life.

Update: I am now off my 2nd fully charged cycle after Thursday morning. With AOD and light usage I’m at 50% after nearly 3 days. I’m sure I will get another day before needing to put it on the charger tomorrow night. I might even not have to put it on the charger until Monday night. The battery and Watch is a beast for Apple’s first offering. I’m excited to see what next year brings.

It’s been 13 hours since I took Apple Watch ultra off charger and I’m at 74% battery left is that good or bad battery life?

I reached 49hours now with 18%. Now charging.
(no Cellular, no workouts in this time)

It’s impossible to know without also knowing your usage metrics. There are so many variables that impact battery life. GPS, Cellular, playing music, which watch face, which complications in the watch face, AOD, how often you interact with the watch, screen brightness settings etc.

50 hours in, 23% left. Sleep tracking enabled, AOD, and the obvious honeymoon stage. No cellular or any workouts done.

I am getting to about 55-56 hours at which point I hit the 20% mark. This is with daily workouts and sleep tracking.

Do you guys all usually let the watch drain to 0-10%? - Ive always done this with watches in years past, but I notice battery health is down to 88-92% after a year in that case.

Im thinking of trying not to let the battery go down below 20% this year if i can help and charge above that. That combined with less charging cycles bc of the larger battery should help preserve battery health a bit more?

The battery life is so good on my Ultra, I actually forget when I actually last charged it. That’s actually pretty telling.

I’m sitting here getting ready to give an another update, and I’m not really clear because I just don’t ever have to think about when to charge.

I think that I charged it two days ago to 100%, and topped it off a little for 15 minutes at some point when I was charging my phone before work once and that’s it. It’s just always on my wrist.

I’m sitting here at 81% and I wore it all night, and maybe charged it 15-20 minutes in 2 days.

Still continue to be impressed. Was doing Theater mode at first to get the longest life, but then I switched to the Wayfinder Night mode all the time and it’s get about the same result. And I just think thats a cool watch face.

Damn, today I went for a hiking route, following it with the WorkOutDoors app so I was constantly checking the watch and I left my iPhone at home so I was using the cellular with bad reception. It only used like 25 % battery which is amazing. I’m super glad with the battery life on the Ultra.

With the battery hog wayfinder watch face with white background, 100% brightness, cellular on always and AOD on…it consumes 1% every 15 minutes. Looking at 4% per hour or about 25 hours from 100% to dead.

The Maps connection when navigating to the Watch is a battery hog. If you don't need it (it's on by default even if you use CarPlay), try turning it off.
Where do you turn this off? I can’t seem to find the settings. Thx

In Maps settings in the Watch app on your iPhone, “Drive with CarPlay” is my guess in English. I’ve attached the Swedish version if it helps any. 😊

100% charge at 8:45a yesterday (Saturday), went for a 6-mile run using LTE for streaming music, and Apple Fitness app. Used about 20% battery for that. Slept with watch, and at 8:45a this morning, at 50%. Another 6-mile run today with music from downloaded playlist on with, and currently at 20% at 5:00p.

Not bad, but maybe not quite as good as others in this thread.

The battery is the same on all Ultra watches. Other folks with longer battery hours are just using less power with minimal watch faces, and other things turned off. Don’t feel like your battery isn’t the same as the others.
