Didn’t even know there were mac apps for either of them!
There are! But What's App eats 1GB of RAM alone lol. Messenger is under control for me though...

I have to restart it to make it be between 600-750mb.

But as you can see.. My biggest issue is Teams :(

Sonos S2 app still isn't native. I would think this would be a fairly easy one to fix, but Sonos hasn't done so. Does anyone know if this is also Electron based?

Telegram/Team they all need serious rework.

Look at Discord, look at the run time on it and memory consumption with huge channels over 20,000 users chatting non-stop by the minutes.

106.8 MB!

Yeah, Teams need to get native I agree.

There's a 'Performance' event coming up on April 26th, I recommend you guys to log in your o365 accounts and reply to the comments requesting information about the macOS app.

Is WhatsApp working as a native Apple Silicon app or through Roseta 2?
Rosetta and it sucks... Takes up to 1.2GB sometimes.. If you don't need the call feature via Mac, you are better off using the Web What's App on the browser.

Basically what I do is either use Brave or Edge and create a Web App from there.

This is what I've done as well, created an Edge Wed App for Teams & Outlook. My job would force me to register my MBP if I wanted to use the actual apps. Easy enough to just use Web Apps, other than being signed out too often. But that's an Admin setting in place thru my job, not the Web Apps themselves.

I've been staying away from Brave due to higher than normal memory usage, too. At least from my own experience.

Yeah it's a pretty good approach. My problem with the Teams web app is that it puts you 'Away' if you don't have that window active for a time.

I love the native Outlook app though!

Installed, wow it’s quick compared to running it via Rosetta2
agree, holy smokes, it is as quick as the web-version, not comparable to the x86 one..
Unfortunately for me Logitech Brio webcam still does not work with full-resolution in Teams (works fine in Teams web-app)

Hopefully you read the comments about it still needing Rosetta2 for at least an audio stream, so it isn't fully compatible but it is on its way.

Is the memory any better? (probably not but I thought I would ask)

Wow, teams is great now or well much better. I did uninstall the intel version and downloaded the apple silicon one from 9to5mac and then just install it, as people are writing it's faster :)
