no, it won't work with an 02 pay as you go SIM.
So what can i do if i want to use the phone today and later unlock it? I have seen a company selling iphoneunlockuk.com selling software for 40 quid to any O2 sim but you said earlier that there is free software out there?
Thanks

Have you seen the webpage that i sent you, do you know anything about them or know of an alliterative?
Please any more comments, I am heading up to the Apple store in an hour, can i unlock to any O2 Sim using the webpage above

save yourself that money get urself a case or something because the unlocking process of a UK iPhone to any 02 sim card is easy. http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15849

i did it to 2 iPhones and they are fine. (both on pay as you go 02)
Does GPRS work for you? Some people in that thread are saying that it does not work. Then in this thread

http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17133

it is claimed that GPRS doesn't work for *anyone* in 1.1.2.

I mean, when you get the UK iPhone it won't work with any O2 sim. You need to follow the hackint0sh instructions.

Yep, they're probably doing the above and charging for the service. If you don't feel confident that you can get the instructions right maybe you'd want to do that for peace of mind.

So anyone used IPHONEUNLOCKUK Software?

Hi guys, i am quite techy i guess and will be buying an IPhone next week, and then will probably get IPHONEUNLOCKUK software to Unlock the phone to use my 02 PAYG SIM. I've heard how easy it is to unlock without their software, but it just seems all over the place with about 100 pieces of software you need to download. I just don't want the headache and risk involved if I download and run the wrong thing. But has anyone out there actually given IPHONEUNLOCKUK a go? I guess I could be the guinea pig....

I am using it right now (all night in fact ) and still cant get it to work, looks like another 40 quid down the drain?

How do i uninstall the 7.5 version without loosing all my songs
Highlight all your songs in iTunes and then copy them to a new folder on your desktop called, for example, 'ndwgolf iTunes'. Make sure that they are all there, then uninstall your existing copy of iTunes before installing 7.4.2.

Once you have done that, go into the file menu on iTunes and click on 'add to library'. Find your 'ndwgolf iTunes' folder on your desktop and choose that. Voila, your songs will be added to iTunes 7.4.2.

Hope this helps. :)
