I really hate to bring this up, cause I'm not one to think like this but...

Apple seems to be changing under the Tim Cook, and certain things like delays are starting to become the norm...I'm not going to say this wouldn't have happened under SJ, but I don't ever remember being let down by Apple so many times in a row.. I really hope Apple gets their **** together, cause it sucks as a stock holder/fanboy to have the company you love keep failing you..

Submit my claim about 6 hours ago.
Nothing yet - although I'm not in any particular rush TBH.

In R4, more or less
My impression is that the claim approval process is not the holdup here. I called to check like many others, and they said my claim was approved (with no proof aside from SN), and that they wanted to "resend" the code in an email. Like others, I never received any first email. The phone rep said it would take up to 24 h for this email to arrive, but I'm not holding my breath.

This is not about impatience, it's about passing this along to help others who might be waiting around with no information. Back to work now.

Don't be so silly. Its only the impatient few on this forum that are buying it as they cant possibly wait another day.

They obviously do have issues because of the reports of codes not working and the fact it takes so much longer than usual.

Don't forget that MR forums is full of crazy people who are very impatient and 99.999999999% of the world probably don't even know Mountain Lion is out :D

You do understand that your statement would mean less than 1 person knows about Mountain Lion, right?

Be careful with those 9s... :)

Still waiting here, over 24 hours.

Over 24 hours here also. I think this should be fairly easy for them to do. As long as you registered your Mac (serial number) when you first booted it up you should automatically be sent a code I think. The systems at apple should "just know" that these serial numbers belong to a system that was not available for purchase till after June 11th in the first place. Not to mention I am pretty sure most retailers scan the serial number when you buy a mac which I would think would send that info to apple as well!

Best Buy doesn't...So that really only leaves a very few non apple dealers.

Called apple yesterday. The lady I spoke to said they gave out over 15000 incorrect redeem codes early that morning. She said those were getting priority and had to each be further investigated before codes were sent out. Us other people are moved to the back of the line.

I'm going on 27 hours of waiting.

I got my password email within about half an hour of filling the form in yesterday straight after ML release. However, I never received the other email with the PDF. So I emailed the address given for problems and have yet to hear back, 27 or so hours later.

Its been over 26 hours now since I put a claim in also; and not a peep from apple, I called apple support, and was told the same 72 hour thing that everyone is hearing, But they were able to verify my claim was submitted and approved. That has put me at ease a little........I don't mind waiting "at this point". And I don't want the hassel of spending the $20 and trying to get it back.......

That said, Apple has handled this very poorly,

'F' the Up-To-Date program.

I didn't receive a download link or code by the time I got home from work (and ready to install), so I just bought it. I mean it's only $20 - I spend about that much on Starbucks on any given day.

For me, I didn't see the point in sitting around and waiting for days when the price is so low. Not saying others should do the same, just chiming in...

How large is the download?

Im asking because im currently in London visiting and while the internet speed at the office im working is great the one where I am staying at night is herrendous so I hope i get the link while t work so i can download it. A 73 MB file took me 5 hours to download the other day :(

At 26 hours now.. I think I'm just going to buy it and asks or a refund.. worst case scenario, I lose $20 which is less than 1% of what the laptop cost. :/

Officially 24 hours for me now. I bought mine online and when submitted the claim got a reference code. That's been it, no emails or anything else. Will wait and see.

Waited this long, I can wait a bit longer

Submitted the form at about 10:30am Eastern time yesterday, got a claim number and everything, but never heard a single thing. Went late last night (2am) and re-submitted, went through fine with the identical serial number, and also got another claim number. Now, I'm 25 hours out from my original claim and still have nothing. I'm sitting here with 3 machines to upgrade and I refuse to reward a company, Apple or otherwise, with $20 for a screw-up like this.

Yeah good point... Any differences between GM and normal copy?! Cause if not screw it I will install the GM and be done!
