I'm getting really, really pissed off at the up-to-date program. Submitted by receipts online on Wednesday evening, finally got an email on Friday that the receipt was illegible and needed to be resubmitted. (What? I export a 300dpi JPEG from Preview from a PDF... really???) So I resumbitted with a new file. 5pm Friday got another rejection email saying the receipt didn't show proof of payment and delivery. Uh, ok... it was of the Apple Online Store order invoice (with order number, look it up!) with shipped status and a $0 balance, but whatever. Submitted the invoice now plus more screen shots showing fully paid and shipped, plus FedEx tracking page showing delivered. 5:30pm, called AppleCare and she couldn't explain it but escalated and said I'd get an email back from the escalation department soon. 1:40am last night, got another email saying Receipt was not Provided. WHAT THE HELL APPLE????????? THIS SHOULDN'T BE THIS DIFFICULT!!!!!

Apple is getting me to post my receipt for my proof of purchase before they can send me the password but the thing is i did not receive any email or receipt confirming my purchase. I made my purchase 9 days ago.. Am i supposed to wait, or can anybody advice on what to do? Thanks.
You can call apple about returning the mac you bought, since you have 14 days to return, see what they have to say about it, the last resort is return the mac get the ml osx in the machine.

Thanks for posting that you actually got a rejection. I'm 20 minutes shy of the 72 hours mark and was wondering if they actually send rejection notices.

so the funny thing is I wrote to the App Store customer services ticket that I had open about my refund for ML. I asked politely if I could have a the links to my forum posts here added to my ticket for evidence should this continue to be a persistent issue. I had a very courteous and polite response back which was magically followed with a new code 2 mins later. I haven't managed to try the code as I am away from home - very big coincidence though!

Submitted my request last night a screenshot of my item receipt around 10pm got an email about 20 minutes ago stating I need to resubmit it with the actual part number listed oops.

It has now been 74 hours since I submitted my claim and still no codes. I've checked my spam folder A MILLION TIMES.

So I called Apple Customer Support, and they told me to email uptodatesupport@apple.com

Friggin ridiculous.

I cannot believe some of the rigmarole people are going through....I did get my update 48 hours in and now I feel lucky.

For what it is worth, I submitted at 9 am the day it was made available. I never submitted proof of purchase. I purchased my macbook pro 15" (late 2011) June 27 from a local reseller.

I'd assumed a reason for my delay was the reseller--maybe they were given priority to Apple Store purchasers first?

But seeing some of hoops and delays being experienced by others appear to indicate the whole process is just a big crapshoot

It was 72h and I just got email from Apple that I didn't use right .lv domain (I'm in Latvia) so I just did everything again and now I'm again waiting for validation , oh boy I want to Pirate it but it just feels wrong.

Had a slight chuckle this afternoon - got an email from Apple saying they have rejected my claim due to the receipt not proving I brought and received the RMBP (Not sure how I prove i got it - take a pic with me next to it? lol)

Anyway, previous to this they had sent me 4 PDFs and passwords (Which all worked) and I have upgraded my RMBP and in the process of upgrading my MBP 13".

Who knows what they were thinking when they dreamed up this system!:rolleyes:

About the same for me as well. Only took about an hour to download and install.

I noticed Safari 6 is really fast but I haven't noticed much in ML. I guess I have to go look for it and see what it has lol.

Took 45 hours but this morning I had my code.

I wonder if they're having problems with the retina MBP serials? All my problems and 4 resubmissions now have all been related to the retina MBP as well.

Way over 72 hours now. Called Apple- again - and this time he said it had been sent out to me at 9:15 last night. Well, I checked and it wasn't. Then he mysteriously discovered that my code was still generating while he was attempting to resend it, and gave me the excuse that they only started processing the codes at 12pm on Wednesday, so it's just over 72 hours really.

Finally ended up getting mine today after the fourth submission. Had to submit the invoice (from the Apple Online Store), a screenshot of the order, a screenshot of the shipping details, and a screenshot of FedEx showing delivery. One more rejection and I was going to send them a picture of the retina MBP itself in my kitchen.

Been over 80 hours... still no redeem code for Mountain Lion

Sent an email to Apple explaining that I haven't gotten my code yet and all replied was that they were sorry and I should have my code soon. This is pretty frustrating to say the least.
