An odd thing has been happening. Although Apple has finally correctly identified my street/driveway in new Maps, in Navigation mode it sometimes (but not always!) still attempts to have me conclude my trip on my neighbor’s driveway (which it used to incorrectly identify as my street [private driveways in Connecticut serving 2 or more homes are frequently given street names for fire department reasons]).

It is odd because it’s not consistent in doing this (which at least would have been understandable). Going to chalk this one up as part of the learning curve but this is the sort of thing that does get people annoyed with Maps. I’ll have to figure out how to report this.

I’d simply enter your address in search. If it brings it up as the wrong point on the map, report the error and correct the pin position.

It may just be old and new layers clashing though since the image layer and the routing/map data layer are not one in the same...maybe?

Is your address the same name as the "driveway" street? And is the "driveway" street labeled properly on the map?

Actually, it is pinpointing the right place (my house) but sending me up the wrong driveway to get there. Agree re clash of layers. With 13.1 B1 releasing today (and yes, Maps is still the new version for me with that), Apple clearly has a lot on its plate right now!

Yes, to both, now. The street was mislableled in old Maps.

Be sure to check the Arrival Entry Points if you are running the iOS 13 beta as well

One of the largest text bubbles I've ever seen in Apple Maps. lol

And a random screenshot from Waze on CarPlay while I was sitting in a drive-thru line. The CarPlay iterations of the "competition" are continuing to slowly grow and improve. Although I can't fathom why Waze on CarPlay *still* doesn't let you specify the type of Police you're reporting (visible/hidden/other side).

Actually, it is pinpointing the right place (my house) but sending me up the wrong driveway to get there.

I've seen similar behavior in navigation apps before. Despite the address being correct, the app would send you to the road physically closest to the destination, even if there's no access from that road.

I agree with the previous suggestion of setting a route to your house, going to report an issue, and reporting the correct entry point.
[doublepost=1566949819][/doublepost]On a similar topic, I've always had a minor issue with my home in Apple Maps.

My apartment building's garage is accessible only from a different street behind my building, different from my home address. As the garage itself doesn't have its own address, I had to make up an address on that block to give to Apple Maps to use as my "home" address, so Maps would take me to the garage when going home. But there was no way to make the address perfect to the location of the driveway.

If my garage entrance is, say, 7/10ths of the way to the next corner on that block, Apple Maps places my "Garage" marker around 8.5/10ths of the way, based on the fake address Im using. To combat that location discrepancy, I use the reporting feature to tell Apple that the marker is in the wrong place, and I move it to the correct location. That moves the marker to where I need it, and it stays there when I'm looking at Maps on my phone.

However, whenever I choose to navigate home through Apple's "suggested" destinations, it navigates me to the "8.5/10ths" marker location, which is where Apple originally believed that address to be. Even though the marker was moved by me to the correct location, Apple always takes me to the incorrect location.

BUT, if I ignore the destination "suggestion", and instead type in "Home" in the search bar, Apple navigates me to the correct marker location. It's really weird.

Sometimes when opening Maps, it'll initially show me my Garage marker in the wrong place, before immediately moving it to the correct location.

I'm looking forward to moving to my new apartment in a few months, so I won't have this issue anymore. lol

BTW, when you guys got the Northeast Update on your phones (for those living in the newly updated region), did you get an iOS notification or something alerting you that it had arrived? Or did you just discover it on your own when opening Maps?

When I went to Vegas a few months back, I did receive a notification once I landed there and turned my cell back on. But the new maps there were "official" at that point, and everyone had them.

No notification for me. I think someone here posted and I then found them on my phone. I think your theory regarding an official rollout bring the trigger for the notifications is likely correct.

I would take it for one day so I can play with it, and then lose it for a few weeks....

There's so much I want to see in the New York area. I don't go back to work until Friday night, so now would be a great time.

Apple Maps vs Google Maps? Are the updates with AM worth switching back? I didn’t like the lag with AM. With GM, it uses other people’s phones to get information with traffic conditions, which makes delays and congestion issues 95% accurate.

Where were you experiencing lag? What type of phone do you have, and were you navigating using Apple CarPlay?

How the hell does Apple maps remove my home address from their database? It worked for 2 years at my new development, now nothing. No wonder the Get Travel Time shortcut doesn't work!!!
