Mine is a 15" MacBook Pro. As far as the crash log is concerned, do you mean the one the system offers to send to Apple, or one of the many logs available in the Console?
Either one should give you a hint as to what happened to cause the panic.

The 2015 MacBook Pros are the only models I know of that don't have the hibernation issue.

I use hibernatemode=25 on my 2015 Air and it is able to wake from a powered-off state with no issues.

What's the significance of Hynix ram?
I was replying to the previous page recommendation of a SK Hynix nVME SSD. Forgot to click reply lol.

This brand wasn't heard in consumer products before, but turns out even Apple uses their memory, so I guess their SSD could be matching with the MacBooks. Especially when the review said about the power efficiency.

Apple has used Hynix ram in their non-retina MacBooks, along with Samsung.

Yes, the Hynix NVMe looks good but it really depends on how well it works with macOS to minimise power consumption.

It is one of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers. But not too well known in typically direct sale end user products, but definitely in consumer products. They are very big in OEM and integrated equipment. Not be surprised if your laptop has SK Hynix memory, including Apple products.

I haven't been able to get cut and paste to work on the Problem Report for macOS that comes up after each crash or find a way to save it, but here's a screen grab of the first part of it.

The crash is definitely related to the NVMe drive. It's possible that the MacBook isn't compatible with the existing adapter/drive combination.

Do you have another drive to try with the MacBook?

I don't, but I will go back through the posts and see if there's a 2Tb NVMe drive that users are happy with.

I hope you find a suitable drive.

Unfortunately, there are so many possible combinations of adapter and drives that it almost seems perilous at times.

Please report back if you find a more suitable drive or you are able to solve the issue with your existing drive.

Thank you.

I've used the Sintech adapter that seems to be universally approved, so hopefully a change of NVMe drive will do the trick.
However, the way things are going I'll probably end up with an Apple SSD!

I had purchased this adapter a few months back but couldn’t get it to work (mac doesn’t see the drive to install to). It’s supposed to be a Sintech but it says LTK?

Also the drive appears to be an Intel 540 series which I don’t know the compatibility of.

Ive got a 2015 MBP, and I’m not sure which item is the issue here?

The Intel 540 is a SATA drive. MacBook needs NVMe.

Noticed your MacBook Pro 11,5 has the 4th gen i7, most of the 2015 Airs and 13" MBPr's have the 5th gen i5/i7 CPUs (they are wired a bit differently)... so yours could behave more like a 2014 model in terms of the electronics.

I'm not sure if the Corsiar MP510 is double-sided (chips and resistors/capacitors on both sides), but you might need to try taping off the exposed parts of the adapter's pins on both sides - some SSDs have components close to the connector region that occasionally cause problems when they touch the pins of the adapter.

If I update the macOS on an external SSD, say it's the original SSD came from my MacBook and put into an enclosure, is it able to update the BootROM of my MacBook?

My experience is - if the BootROM you have is too old to update correctly on an aftermarket NVMe, then it won't work on an external either.

The good news is, if you do this now you shouldn't have to worry about it again. The most recent BootROM updates (at least for my MBPr 13") get applied properly with aftermarket NVMe drives after getting to a certain BootROM level.

Hi, new to this form and i been trying to get this to work on my mac book air mid 2013 using a wd_black sn750 ssd. I cant get my mac to read the ssd or for the ssd to show up at all. I know the ssd working because i check on my PC and it reads fine. I has trying reform matting the ssd, wiping it again and brought two of the adapters thing. But I has not been able to get it to read it. Is there anything else to try? Also triming is enable, has try to disable but unable to, any help would be appreciated
edit: wrote mid 2012 meant mid 2013 13-inch with version 10.15.6 Catalina

Update:forgot to mention that I also I try using the WD blue ssd and it work the first time but than i enable trim and since than it doesn't work. I try to disable trim but have no luck with that. Is there anything else that I can do?

What OS are you using? When i installed High Sierra and newer, trim was automatically enabled on my Intel 600p and HP ex900.

A fresh install of Mojave and Catalina enbaled trim on the Intel 600p and HP ex900 too.
well the only thing that I did was enable trim and I know I did because it said it was disable before I enable it and since then I have try two different ssd ,adapter and has reformat and redownload update to catalina and it still doesn't want to read the new ssd since than. I am lost.
