Note that with both the GUI and TUI versions of OpenCore-Patcher, after you make changes to their settings and reboot the Mac, if you run OpenCore-Patcher again, you may find that the settings they display may be back to their defaults, and not reflect any of the changes you've just made, but your changes will actually be in effect. This is a bug I've seen anyway, on my Late 2013 Macbook Pro 15 Inch running Monterey 12.5 beta installed by OCLP 0.4.5. I plan to report this bug to Dortania.
I think that's how OCLP works. It does not persist settings between runs, and you basically have to re-enter every time you run it. I only have 3 settings to change, so not a big deal for me. That's why I provided instructions for running OCLP from scratch.

Ok, story update. I ended with 2TB 970 evo plus and sintech adapter. Temperatures are really ok, I am surprised. 35c while using normally. Power consumption is around 0,4-0,5A, pretty high but I will try to fix it by kext changing.

One problem is that I have higher write speed than read. Write 2800 and read just 1800-2000. Before with adata sx8200 1tb I also had slower reading. I have the latest boot and ssd firmwares… maybe adapter is fake ? MacBook 11,5, pcie 3 so should around 3000/3000 with 970 evo plus.
I've just ordered a Samsung 2TB 970 Evo Plus yesterday to upgrade my Macbook Pro 15" mid 2015 after reading your post, happy to hear it's working nicely for you. I had a look at SSDPmEnabler but have no idea how to load up the kext. Much appreciated if anyone can help with some simple instructions? ?

@aaddixx, I'll report back as soon as I get it installed.

BTW, do you have the short Sintech adapter or the long one? I'll be using the long adapter, just hope it will fit.
Long, but i think it’s a fake one.I have 2000 mb/s reading. It should be at least 2800

OK so here's the story so far:
I prepared the Sintech adaptor by wrapping Kapton tape around it, then installed the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2tb onto it, screwed it into the motherboard. No flex, everything seems to sit very nicely, even with the SSD being double sided.

Fresh installed Monterey via bootable USB, and during the install the fan went berserk for a bit. Once it's all up and running, I loaded up Blackmagic and took some readings, along with AmorphouseDiskMark. Also installed TG Pro to take some temp readings, see screenshots.

System is flying along, everything seems to be working sweetly :):):)

Ok, it’s exactly the same as mine. I don’t understand why it can’t go up to 3000 with reading. I saw on YouTube some videos with 970evo plus upgrade and they had much higher reading speed then us. Maybe it’s because new revision of the ssd or they have mojave or something. I use big sur

Hey everyone, i'm a little confused about my SSD upgrade.
I bought 4TB WD SN750 SSD for my Macbook but i have really low speeds.

I tested it also under Windows 10 but the same bad results.

Do you have any ideas?

I also find the temp from the ssd a little high, 51° as you can see in the screenshots.

EDIT:
I replaced the old original apple ssd back into it and here are the results.
i find it interesting that the heat goes up to 57°

I have the cheap one. No name. Everything works perfect so far. No issues with temp, battery or hibernation. Boot camp works too. Maybe your sintech is broken. Try another one. Or maybe sn750 needs firmware upgrade before? Try your ssd on windows machine if possible

Late 2013 13" MacBookPro11,1. Sudden death. Internal OEM 256GB SSD not visible in Finder, DiskUtilty or Terminal command-line.
Discovered this thread, thanks but it's TL;DR for me so used the coloured pictures to order a Sabrent Rocket 1TB, then an adapter from Amazon https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07KP9ZYVP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and some Pentalobe drivers. I already had some heatsink paste.
Backed up my Mojave system using SuperDuper to the NVMe drive in USB caddy.
Opened for the first time in 8.6 yrs: eek, careful brush, hoover and blow.
New heatsink goop. Hate that rubber flap.
Swapped out SSD = a dawdle.
Replaced back carefully on top of body-positive LiPo's. Any recommendations for good knock-offs?
Booted fine after a minutes hiccup with date/time and recognising internet through Ethernet-USB adapter.
Impressions: snappier than before.
Plan: open up again and re-check OEM SSD wasn't just suffering from filth on contacts. Only as it's so easy to do in this case. I had got used to running my 256GB with 70-80GB spare, recently learnt storage discipline.
Lessons learned: get a systematic regular SuperDuper OS backup routine together, instead of just the "oh, it's been a while since I backed up" system.
Share the Wealth!

Ok got results.
the new noname adapter did no change at all.
Next i tried the SSD in my friends new notebook and it worked like a charm, see screenshot.
i think i will order a different one now, in my country the corsair mp510 is now buyable (570€)
Do anyone have any else ideas? thanks

I have the same MBP (11,1) but with original 1Tb SSD. Did the procedure make the laptop quicker/cooler - do you have disk stats? Looking at this procedure for a performance boost.

My guess is that you have a discrete GPU and it uses or share some lanes on PCIE and that's why you are not able to get full bandwidth on your Macbook Pro. If you have bootcamp and Windows, try disabling it in device manager and restart and see if the SSD speeds up.

Have you tried an SMC reset and PRAM reset. Make sure to do the SMC with a charger conected. I have the same MBP with discrete GPU and I have no speed problems with a Hynix P31 2TB.

I've been using an NVMe SSD for around two years now.

Is my MBP quicker? Actually, I did not perceive any change, BUT Blackmagic says it is.
Is my MBP cooler? Just the opposite: with higher read/write speeds, my computer is hotter. What helped was replacing the thermal paste on the CPU.

I would only replace the original SSD if I required more space. Otherwise, don't waste your money on a machine which is not supported by the current macOS anymore.

I just resettet first the SMC with charger connected and then PRAM but both with no effect.
I'm running out of ideas now. Maybe the Corsair MP510 will work, we will see this week.

Can you check how many PCIe lanes are used by the ssd?
