Still debating but thinking I’ll get a better price selling my current M1 12.9 now that in another year. Ordered for pickup a 13“ space black 1 TB nano-texture with Magic Keyboard and pencil pro.

Edit: Based on comments here I just switched to a standard glass. If I want matte I can get a screen protector.

Serious question for those ordering IPP

What do you use it for in “pro” work?

Or is this just buy the best possible available?

That's my new use case (if pricing isn't insane). Their mac app is powerful, but the UX has an incredibly steep learning curve (that's being kind), so I'm hoping the native ipad with the redesign will be more approachable. That's really the only thing that the M4 is going to be pushed for.

I also plan to use it via screen share to retouch in Lightroom and photoshop (I don't use their cloud apps, so it's my only option).

Otherwise? It's mostly a content consumption device. I spend a ton of time reading/watching movies on it, so having a better screen is worth every penny. I used to use it for working off-hours, but the company just implemented MDM, so I got my evenings back ;-)

Casual gaming is the other use case. I'd had ideas about playing games like Civilization or RPGs on it, but I find I like mods too much, and without a real file system, they're basically impossible to use. One thing I want to try is using remote desktop to my gaming PC and see if the performance is good enough to do that.

And, well, I wonder if we're going to see something at WWDC that needs the M4 chip, and is actually worthwhile.

Originally ordered a 13” 516GB black Pro but I’ll return that when it arrives next week. Instead, I ordered a 13” 1 TB black Pro to take advantage of the full CPU and also get the nano glass. So excited!

That’s a bit unclear. What is unusual or funny about the billing?

Would have done nano-texture but didn’t like that the bezels were still glossy! That would have driven me nuts so ended up going with the standard/glossy display as I’ll put a screen protector on it.

IPP is new to me. This is adding to my toolkit for photo/video editing in the field; was tempted by the nano texture until I saw the tiktok circulating around. Not to mention $$$. I'll just get a screen protector if I feel the need. The ol' iPad 6 will continue to serve as the late night kindle/netflix thing.

Pick up May 15 in the morning.

Back in 2021, I bought the iPad Pro 12.9 (5th Gen), Wi-Fi only, in the 1TB size when it was released, along with the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard.

👉 I just now ordered the new iPad Pro 13” (M4 chip), Wi-Fi only, in the 2TB size, with Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard.

Reasons? My current iPad’s battery has diminished in it’s charge level and has noticeable less battery life than when it was new. I also need (want?) the OLED display as I use the Adobe Creative Suite. Additionally, I’m also looking forward to the lighter weight of both the iPad and of the keyboard.

I’m to pick it up at one of my local Apple Stores on Wednesday, the 15th.

I cancelled this second order and opted for the standard glass instead since I‘m not the intended user of nano glass. In store pickup next Wednesday.

Struggling between the 256gb and 1tb here, 256gb is enough for me but half the RAM feels bad

The specific model I want isn’t available to preorder at Best Buy. It seems 1TB/2TB cellular models are “coming soon” :(
The option to preorder is available now.

I'm glad I don't want the 13" this time around. It seems a bit of a rip off to still have a $300 price difference just for the bigger size. I know that used to be the case for the last few generations, but that's because the bigger iPad had mini-LED while 11" still had LCD.

Not for the 11 inch :/
Yeah, you are correct. For some reason, there are more 13 inch configuration available compared to the 11 inch models… I’m guessing Apple is holding onto them for their stores.

I think those will be the most popular size given the cost difference as @xxray stated.
