Paying off this phone that I actually enjoy having, mainly. I’ll get a good chunk of change for it next year somewhere I’m sure.

But as my message above states, Apple screwed us a little bit by pushing the 12 PM back last year and bringing the launch date back up this year. So I was looking at taxes, 1 “early upgrade” fee, first month payment, and an activation fee at VZW. Around $350 just for me to get a new phone that (in my opinion) has Pro Motion and slightly better battery life.. which will both be there next year. Not even a new matte black color like they predicted.

I’m sure the phones will be great but I think if there was any year for me to skip, it’s this one.
No explanation necessary..... you're doing what's right for you  The 12PM is an incredible phone and for the most part not much different than the 13PM. Besides, next year they may have the mini-LED screens, titanium cases, satellite links, etc! Enjoy your trip!

I wonder if it’s a good idea to not switch the Citizens loan back to Apple Card until after the phone ships, if the initial transaction didn’t go through using Apple Card? There’s no reason it shouldn’t have, I use it all the time and it’s been the payment method on all my citizen loans up to this point…

For those who made their 12th payment earlier this week with Citizens Loan, were you charged the Early Upgrade Payment for your iPhone 13? I just noticed I was still charged $57 for that. I'm currently on the phone with Apple to see what's going on?

She's checking to see if the Early Upgrade Payment is for the iPhone 13 Pro loan...
I was charged an early upgrade payment :)

I ordered again this year just like I do every year (moving from Gold 12PM to Graphite 12P though, unusual)!

I do find that I'm not as excited this year, likely due to the extremely incremental nature of the upgrades. I don't know that I'll be driven to obsessively trace UPS flights around the globe this year... or even check the shipping status all that often.

But I'm sure it will make a nice phone for the next year!

I went to the Citizens One webpage and changed my payment method back to the Apple Card. Enter your new loan number, and when changing your payment method there is an option to use an earlier payment method, which contained my Apple Card info. It seems to only affect the future monthly payments, as the initial charges were already posted to the card used during ordering.

The amount pending on my card is less the first payment. It only includes taxes and the 12th payment of my current loan.

why did you decide to downgrade from the pro max to the smaller pro?

Ordered an iPhone 13 Pro Max 1TB Sierra Blue at 8:07AM CST on T-Mobile/Sprint website.

I have a ship date of 10/29/21 - 11/23/21.
Hoping a lot of the fraud/fake orders get removed and my date moves soon. Lol

That was my thought too. I don’t want to risk any sort of failed payment and delay in shipment of phone, so I’m leaving it on my Visa until it’s in my hands. I’m also using a Visa I never use ($0 balance), so it might be good for my credit to have a monthly charge going to it and paying it off. It’s one of my longest history cards, but I don’t use it as I’m usually an Apple Card type of guy.

Last year the PM had different camera hardware, and this year there is nothing separating the 2. The battery life of the 13P meets or exceeds that of the 12PM for the most part. Lastly, I only went with the bigger unit last year knowing I'd be at home most of the past year due to COVID, and that the extra bulk and weight would be more tolerable when lounging around the house than out and about. Now that things are thawing out a bit (in terms of being out of the house more), I don't like the extra weight and size of the PM; I never wanted to lug that thing around.

Also, when I'm at home now my Apple device collection has grown to... MBP, M1MBA, iPadAir, and iPhone. So I have better options if I need more screen real estate.

I will say, though, that it seems like the Pro Max should be priced >$100 higher than the Pro (or rather, that the Pro should be priced >$100 lower than the Pro Max), because $100 seems like a deal for the cost of bigger screen and battery components. This doesn't change the fact that I specifically don't want the heft or the weight, however, so I am making the intentional choice to go with what I view to be a "worse" deal in terms of what you get for your money.

I have a big trip planned coming up so I’m trying to be better with $ and tbh I love my 12 Pro Max. Lol at the end of the day most of my remorse came from the fact that just to upgrade it was going to cost me $230 plus first month payment plus activation fee at VZW. So about $350.

.. or I cancel and just pay off my 12PM, enjoy it another year, get a good sale or trade in next year for some apple goodie if I want. Maybe I’ll check in on the fun and see what you guys are up to.

The convos here have already covered underwear choice, so that’s a good start lmao
Did you have a cancel button or did you chat with support to cancel it?

I got my 6+ orders in through AT&T when they opened 15 minutes early. Ended up getting my phones 2 weeks after launch day because they messed up and shouldn’t have let people in early….
Never had that happen. They have opened at 7:45 past 3 releases that I know of.

Local store pick up is still showing release day for both Pro and the regular. Maybe I should have chosen store pick up…

I feel like after the deadline of not receiving your phone back they would close out the loan by doing a hard charge on your payment method for the remaining balance. I could be wrong.
You would be wrong. :). If you choose not to upgrade after a year, just finish making the 24 payments and you own the phone. If you want to join the program in a future year, you'd just join again from scratch.

I have been up since 04:00AM and it is 09:37AM in Las Vegas. Nevada. I have not been able to go to sleep properly. Out here for my daily morning walk. The weather in Las Vegas is just beautiful today. Saying good bye to the 120° heat!!!

This is a much better view than the coffee and Red Bull shot I posted. I don't bother going to bed. Starting work early, hoping to end early. #WhyILoveWFH #JustPlugItInMyVeins

I saw the same; however, when Citizens sent the approval email, they removed the early upgrade fee since I already made that 12th month paymen.
