I’m in the 6:05 gang, but I’m not worried. There is still plenty of time to get them to us by 9/24.

We will see some movement soon, but it might be a surprise as it has in the past, meaning no updates to tracking until very close to 9/24.

It's really not worth contacting Apple or UPS. This is how it plays out every year. The phones ship from China, everyone freaks out the week of. Suddenly on Thursday night, they're in the US and then next morning they're out for delivery. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Mine is coming to a VERY rural location. My status on apple.com and in the apple store app also says PTS but my UPS My Choice app already shows a tracking # and movement. UPS My Choice at ups.com only shows this:

But the UPS app on my iPhone shows the tracking # and shipment progress. You might try that.

Cargolux is probably transporting the iPhones destined for Apple stores. Apple may have a different delivery method to their stores than UPS. They need to get to their destinations by Thursday so they can be sorted for the Friday pickups so need to leave earlier. Regular UPS from China is most likely for the ones UPS is delivering. They need to be stored someplace, so a warehouse in Zhengzhou is as good a place as any. Also first in the warehouse is usually last out so the early shipments will wait the longest.

My order went from PTS to proc.!!!! It is weired. I called apple and they said It will arive on Friday. Still waiting for a tracking #.

It will not change from PTS for anyone until Thursday/Friday. That is standard every year. You need to find your actual tracking number, it likely has already shipped

Since I am in later group for my 13 ProMax 1TB (10/6-10/11) I am still waiting and leaving last 14.x on my 12 ProMax. That way the version of 14.x on the 12 that is backed up on my macbook will be older than the 15.0 on the new phone. I hate the extra process of updating my new phone before I can restore the backup to it (want to play sooner LOL) so I leave til afterwards. I have been playing with and now have the official 15.0 on my iPad Pro. Means I have to wait for watchOS 8 on my trusty ole Apple Watch 4 (7’s still did not excite me enough although longer battery life might have been nice.

I'm updating to the 15.1 beta on my 12 Pro Max. Made a 15.0 backup beforehand. I don't do automatic backups.

That is not true. One year, I received my iPhone on launch day, yet tracking said it was still in China. These tracking systems are not the word of God.

That's not what I said. I said that if they don’t have ANY tracking reference (that there is NO a package showing up), they won’t receive it on Friday.

In your case, you say it was on China, so you had a tracking info.

I'm still living in the land of preparing to ship, optimistic that it will still be delivered on 09/24. But I am enjoying people trying to guess the flight and tracking it on flightaware.

We are all in Preparing to Ship - nobody will flip to Shipped status until the phone hits US soil and clears customs.

So I contacted Apple to be safe. I ordered a Pro set to be delivered on the 24th, been in Prepared To Ship since Saturday early. She said that some orders won't get updated until Thursday and those will be Next Day Air even from China. So like others have told me, I'll reiterate to those asking, if you're still waiting for a tracking number but have a Sept. 24th date, it will still make it on time.

This happens to me every year. Shows Preparing to Ship. Not worried at all. This is absolutely the norm.

Agreed. I know of people who got no tracking info whatsoever and received their phones on time.

I'm updating to the 15.1 beta on my 12 Pro Max. Made a 15.0 backup beforehand. I don't do automatic backups.

For me I do regular manual backups of iPadOS and iOS as I get updates to these. Also if I put significant things on iPad and iPhone I may choose to update. I store fossil PDF’s articles on both. Also use a database program called Recollector for my trilobite fossil collection (800 and counting). Data entered on Mac then an export copy for the iOS and iPadOS versions (read only). So I want all three (MacOS, iOS, and iPadOS) backed up at that point. It ends up with backups for both on average once every month to two months or so.

I’m shocked. My order from the Apple Store app was made on Friday at 1:13pm Eastern For a 1TB Silver 13 Pro Max was for delivery 10/15 -10/25. I just noticed it changed to Friday 09/24. Woohooo!!!!!

Congratulations glad for you. I would love to see my 1TB ProMax 13 Graphite move up from 10/6 to 10/11 I got at 6 past hour (took 5 minutes to get in just to click the complete order button). Time will tell but I do not have strong hope I will move to 9/24 but before 10/6 at least.
