Hi all, good to be back! Quick question for people who were here last year. How does the required signature work in these pandemic times? I am not currently working from home and I'm already worried they won't leave it at my door unless I am there to sign.

The carriers have not been requiring signatures for some time. Fedex just said they're going to be reinstating physical signatures by Sept 15, but I got something on the 15th and they didn't ask for a signature.

That said, there's a waiver process so you can waive the signature. I think that Apple will let you know in the email when it ships.
 
Has anyone been charged for their order yet? My 8:01 AM order is at "Processing," and I see the payment plan in my Wallet app now, but I don't see any charges having actually gone through yet. They said they'd be taking tax out today.
 
bad experience for me.

1. website kept crapping out on me. app kept loading and loading.
2. apple card would not go through. kept giving me errors.
3. i finally got through but with a delivery date of oct 6-11.
4. somehow i got three orders that went through.
5. 15 mins apart, i get three confirmation emails. 😂
6. luckily i have one order with a sept 24 date, so i’ll cancel the others when im able to.

the last few pre-orders i never had issues, but some glitch with Apple Card this time. oh well.
 
I ordered mine and my wife's pro for store pickup and i got the dreaded work email that i will be out of town for two weeks starting Wednesday. the pickup is under my name, is it possible to get it changed to her name? I tried imessage chat but they're busy. Any insight?
Once things are settled and orders have appeared on the site you should be able to call/message/chat and have them add an authorized pick up.
 
Mine took until about 5:04am before the store opened, my pre-order was there exactly as I set it up, took about 2 button pushes and my order was done. I got my email from AMEX for the payment a while ago so all is good. Delivery on Sept 24th for me.

iPhone 13 Pro Max, 256gb in graphite, Apple leather case in midnight. I know, BORING.

I did Apple Pay linked to my Chase Visa, pre-order said "Payment not processed", but the order went through and I got an order confirmation. I have not yet seen any authorization in the wallet or on my Chase account for it yet. I have a feeling at some point, I am going to get notified that there was a problem with the payment.

I dont know why I never learn - I often have issues with Apple Pay specifically on the Apple Store and I end up just having to enter the card itself. No proplems with Apple Pay anywhere else -- go figure.

IUP for 4 iPhones using Apple card. 3 on my card, one on my husband’s. Got right through at 6 AM MDT. Last year he had all of the preorder problems/issues, this year he was the first one to order. No rhyme or reason to any of it. I think the Apple Card system just got overwhelmed after awhile. Glad to see people are able to update their card info with Citizens One.

Oh, and all our credit is heavily fraud guarded. Preapprovals and ordering went through without a hitch without us lifting the fraud protection-so no hard pulls for credit check!

Smooth process! Did the preorder process last night, and submitted this morning. Should be here next Friday!

Edit: I want to add that I did use Apple Card for this. No issues my end.

Yeah it was a slow, rough process for me also. LONG spinning wheel at 8:12am ET
BUT...got the order in, the 9/24 delivery

I grabbed screen shots as soon as order went through just in case, the Email from order came 12-15 min later.

(My bank acct. not really hit...guess more of a "pre-approval, check?", a $0.00 - "Apple. com/US")
 
Ordered through ATT like always. Didnt order until 8:20. Checked out 8:28. Delivery says 24th. Helps i got the least desirable phone in a reg 13/512gb. 😀
 
Im not cancelling mine, but when I did it last time it wasn’t. The Apple rep just cancelled it but said it will take 24 hours to reflect on status that it shows it’s been cancelled.
Thanks. For some reason I’m worrying that my IUP will somehow prevent Apple from cancelling my order. I’m not sure if anyone here has any experience with this.
