For my phone, I ended up with 7:05 with the app. It took a few minutes for my ready details to load but it was fairly smooth sailing. But right when it went through the app crashed and I couldn’t order the second phone. While I was frantically refreshing the app I was looking for the email. Finally was able to order at Apple.com starting fresh without using my ready details. It was at 7:22. I woke up only 5 minutes beforehand, and it was quite the adrenaline rush lol.

That's interesting. The Apple App may have crashed after 7:05. Because it was working fine before that. I have a feeling the App was operating fine for only 2 minutes from 7:03-7:05 PDT, after that, it started crashing. I could be wrong tho. But seems like people had just a few minutes to spare to order the new iPhone. Otherwise you were out of luck and then rely on the desktop.

I remember last year I had to order a different case just to get one in time of release day, and it seems like more cases are available now than in years past.

For some of us-for instance on iUP it circumvents the credit pull. Nice when you have a fraud guard on the account you have to lift otherwise.

Last year they didnt release the cases the same day as the presentation

Did anyone order a watch as well? What color combination did you go with?

Natural Titanium iPhone. The watch is replacing my green series 7. I went with silver aluminum because, although I love the dark green, nothing really goes with it. I usually wear braided solo loops because I find them the most comfortable. But I'm not really taken with the new color clay. I have a leather Modern Buckle, and looking forward to try the fabric one.

Apple has seemingly been doing this for more than a decade. Surely their IT team has learned to account for demand in these situations?

You’d think. I have no idea why, but not getting in fit 29 minutes with a pre-approved iUP pre-order saved snd ready to roll since Wednesday is, in my experience, a complete anomaly. Normally I’m 2-3 taps and out in under a minute. Not today, satan.
