My Picture of the Day submission. Keeping with the water theme: I’ll leave you all with a skyline pic I took while on a lake cruise celebrating a family birthday in June. Grant Park to Lincoln Park with downtown and Navy Pier in the center.

Excellent photo. I loved Chicago. Such a fun city. Instantly fell in love with the Skyline. Keep going! So cool!

My mom bought the SE3 when it launched last year and her battery health drained down to 85% or something like that in just 6 months time. She went to the Apple Store trying to get her iPhone swapped out because it was getting hot on her all the time and we thought something was wrong with the battery. Turned out that it was actually some weird carrier related issue and they somehow had her and my aunt’s lines crossed together which was causing her iPhone to overheat. Once the carrier fixed the issue it stopped getting hot and her battery health has remained above 80%.
That's interesting. I wonder if my iPhone 14 Pro Max has the same issue. The problem is I'm a true Pro user. I hope I don't encounter any issues with the new iPhone 15 Pro Max.

lmao they pulled up the previous phone conversations and now they tell me for security reasons they can't release it AGAIN
Try again and act dumb.. tell them the last representative was in the process of giving you the UPS tracking number but the line was cut off.

Can I please have my full UPS Tracking number? They will verify the information with you. Tell them you do have the last 4 digits.

Hopefully I can get it tomorrow. Maybe. Perhaps. We'll see. I set my expectations to zero so I'm never disappointed!
You will. I want you to get your tracking number. I don't want to go through the same struggle as last year.

I set my expectations to zero so I'm never disappointed! <---- I like this. I need to apply that in real life as well. Good advise!

What initially happened was my mom migrated over to my aunt’s account and somehow their lines got crossed in the transfer. Shortly after that was when my mom started complaining about having really poor reception on her iPhone. So she replaced her SE2 with an SE3 thinking that maybe she’d have better reception on 5G. Initially she said it seemed to be better reception but then it started to get worse again. Then we started noticing how hot her phone was getting which made me think something was wrong with the battery. That is what prompted us to monitor its battery health. It was dropping insanely fast for being such a new iPhone. Apple wouldn’t do any sort of replacement since it hadn’t dropped below 80%. They kept telling her it was something on the carrier side. That is eventually how we discovered the real issue once their tech team looked into it.

The only ounce of information they provided is that the package is in china as of 09/16 and they even see the tracking number too which is stupid

Just checked my UPS App and boom 💪🏽. Who else is in this batch with me

I remain cautiously optimistic! Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

I do this with almost everything. I don't do it in a negative sense. But it allows me to enjoy life more. I think people put way too many expectations on things and are always suffering because of it. Both good and bad things will happen in life. And they will happen regardless of whether we react positively or negatively to them. Not everything can be dealt with positive emotions, but that's generally reserved for things that actually matter in life ... such as friends, family, and relationships. Everything else is secondary. We can always choose to react better to things.

If you're willing to call them what do you need from me
Are you 100% sure you are calling UPS International Customer Service Department?

This number: 1-800-782-7892.
Yeah that's the number I called

That's an excellent post. Well said! We need more people like you! Let's goooooo. Where's your iPhone at?

I want to be just like you. I'm starting to become your fan. 😀🥹

I know this has been asked thousands of times and there are dedicated threads for this. Just one more time..
Does everyone set up their device as new or use quick start or backup to device and restore?

I’ve always set up as new just for the piece of mind nothing unnecessary is being transferred over. I don’t have too many apps and it isn’t exactly difficult to set up as new, apart from logging in to all the banking apps and so on.

Is the anxiety of moving data over irrelevant or is there actually merit in setting up as new?

I restore... I don’t keep too much in terms of stuff on my phone, right now I’m sitting at about 34GB free of the 64GB of this iPhone SE, and that’s with myself fully settled in. I use Google Photos, Spotify, 1Password and other cloud services so I don’t have too much physically on device at any given time. So, that was a very long winded way of saying, if I did set up as new it wouldn’t take myself long to get settled in.

That being said, I go the easy way out. I transfer data from my previous iPhone, usually device to device instead of the iCloud method, and go about my way.

I run beta software, I’ve had iOS 17 since the very beginning, on my main phone (bad, I know…) and I am pretty sure that the latest 17 RC, for example, did a reinstall of the operating system as a part of the software “update” process. So, that’s my second reason as to why I transfer my data and call it a day. I have no idea if I’m transferring over bugs / issues, but I haven’t ran into any major bugs or issues…
