The 3 year trade in just blows.....24 months, I could make work as we have our 2 kids on our plan and practice iPhone trickle down, so we technically have the phone for 2 years.
The deals just are not here this year like years past....For the first time since the iPhone 4.....I am waiting a bit to upgrade.
Honestly, I would like to see the new camera sensor in action, but not enough to pull me away from the 13 Pro Max I have.......

This is our problem also. We have five lines but one keeps their phone until no software updates are available. With the 36 month trade in credits it makes it much more likely that at some point we will have phone payments on 4-5 lines at once. So we are holding steady with the two 12s and two 13s in the house.

Our last 13 was a new line added in May. Got full $800 in line credits by trading in some random Android phone I bought refurbished for $150 just to trade in. That was a great deal!

I ordered this case. It was delivered today to the Amazon locker, so I have to pick it up tomorrow. It was $15.99 and had a 5% off discount. Also Totalle have a 20% off promo (UPGRADED) through 9/16.

I LOVE Spigen cases. I get them every year and have no issues.

36 months with Verizon is ridiculous.
It may sound good now but 3 Years.
Out of curiosity, why are you concerned about it? It's NOT a contract, it's NOT a lease, it's a payment plan. You can pay it off anytime and keep previously issued credits. I.e., there is actually no reason not to do it as you end up paying less even if you upgrade after 1 year or 2 years or whatever time period suits you. Yes, you won't get full discount if you pay it off earlier but you get the discount you accumulated to date.

Just wondering if anyone feels Verizon has gotten really sleazy with the trade in's. I have been a Verizon customer for 20 years. I usually only get a new iphone pro max every other year and ALWAYS pay the whole amount, do not want payments. I work from home so all my calling is wifi calling and My plan payment is just $30.00 plus taxes They keeping changing the name of my plan but call it The New Verizon Plan Small 2GB. I use .5 GB or less per month, even when I have traveled our of the Country Europe, Japan and Mexico I have never gone over so do not need unlimited or the big bill. Only one phone line so do not need anything more. So looking to trade my 13 Pro Max and get this they will not take a trade in unless I upgrade to Unlimited. I did chat and spoke with supervisor. I don't want payments just trade in and I will pay the difference. So being a faithful Verizon customer I am not allowed to do a trade in is the bottom line unless I more than double what I pay them per month. Just wondered if anyone else has a similair problem with them. I did not order with Apple till later yesterday so no the phone is not arriving till mid October where it could be here sooner if I got through Verizon.

Finally back since the 12 Pro release! Ordered my 14 Pro Deep Purple 256GB yesterday at 6:02 AM CST. Just got a tracking number couple mins ago. Apple site was not open on time so ordered through Verizon app. Case and screen protector will be here today.

100%

The way they work trade-ins, especially at 36 months is ridiculous. They are really going for some serious customer lock-in, and I refuse to be a part of it. Especially when I would stay with the anyways, as their service is the best in my area. But, I like to upgrade every year, and spreading out my trade in credit over that much time makes it impossible. Really disappointing.

You got the tracking number from Verizon already?

If you want to upgrade each year, why not take the promo, then trade in the phone directly to Apple next year and pay the difference for a new unlocked phone, and do the same the next year, and then you’re eligible for a promo again. A totally free phone every three years and a few hundred dollars difference in the intervening two doesn’t sound so bad.

This may be a dumb question, but since the 14 will only do e-sim in the US, what if you have a backup phone in case your 14 breaks or has issues that you have to send it in, exactly how would you get the old phone to work again since there is no sim card in the 14 to transfer into the older phone?

Trade ins have always been based on having an existing payment plan in my experience, and you were always guaranteed 50% retail value without the hassle of trying to sell your device yourself.

Have a spare SIM that can be activated for a backup phone.

Can someone help me out so I can get a better understanding of how this trade-in works?

I’m trying to upgrade to the 128gb 14 Plus. I have an iPhone 13 128gb that is fully paid off. I was told I can get $800 for my iPhone 13, and I’ll either have like a monthly payment of $2 something or I can just pay the remaining $99…that part is no big deal. But do I still pay $899 out of pocket and then once Verizon receives my 13 they’ll refund me? Or does this process as a regular upgrade And I won’t have to pay anything and they’ll just credit the account the $800? Should I just go into a store?

Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I’m new to Verizon and I’m just so confused.

First time using Verizon for upgrading. iPhone 14 Pro scheduled for delivery on 9/16, iPhone 14 Pro Max on 9/23. They haven’t taken the money out of my credit card yet, should I be concerned?

No don’t worry they don’t charge cards until like Tuesday or Wednesday. At least that’s how it was done in the past.

Apple give you 720 and won’t lock you in 36 month like Verizon… all trade in Verizon would locked you in 36 months.
