I'm not going to say I believe this thread, but I also have some doubts, as anyone from anywhere in the world could have posted this, without ever stepping foot in the US, never mind Apple HQ.

Either way, this thread has me excited! I can't wait to see what comes. I'm hoping for a PDA. 4-5" screen, OS X, maybe an Intel based architecture. iPDA. That would be awesome. I'd sell my 5G in a second for one (as long as it had enough space).

Anyway, back to reality. I haven't been this excited about an apple announcement since last June.

If Apple releases a PDA I'm gonna be mad. Just upgraded my phone to a new Treo It'd probably be a pretty bad*** device though, you know apple would do it right

If he is proven wrong, he will have to weather a storm of criticism that usually follows those who raise hopes and then hide behind various reasons as to why it did not materialize as steadfastly claimed, with most of the excuses being lame. (Laughing out loud for real), I love it! You are right, I do not normally post on message boards, but after starting this thread I am beginning to see the fun in them. I might just have to stick around and discuss all things Mac here. I love the tabloid option!!! Funny as hell. But I think option #1 there is the closest to the truth. Cool stuff is coming, that's for sure. New Macs are coming, that's for sure. I honestly did not think this thread would get even close to this large though!

So basically, it's sometype of computer and connects to the internet. That all the info you've given, besides new Macs on the way (which is almost always true )

How could he be proven wrong? Regardless I still believe him and I can't wait for Tuesday!

It would be cool if he posted a hint that would only make sense one someone has it in their hands... if thats possible.

Proving a prediction was wrong, especially when there is some kind of event planned for the day in question, is, of course, next to impossible to do. The measuring stick is whether something non-descript and average is the end result compared to the amount of adrenaline pumping hype that was evident throughout this thread.

I'm still not sure why everyone is sticking up for this story. I really don't mean to be blatantly negative, that's not the type of person I am, and I apologize in advance.

But seriously, there are a lot of weird facts here. How did you see these products in the first place? How was a "friend" able to let you in? 2 in the morning? They watched you post on MR with it? It's all just a little too weird for me. And all you can say is "get excited." I suppose if you did have inside info about products, I could understand not being able to talk, but you have no info for us and no proof you were there. Why say anything at all. I guess if Apple just spits out a boombox, it would be a "last minute change?"

However much we try and prove him wrong, we all know apple are releasing some new gear on Tuesday, so we can never know for sure that he was BS'ing.

I really think this is just some guy and his fantasy about having a buddy in everyones' favourite company.

If i posted tomorrow preaching that ''i'd seen an apple product from Tuesday, and you will love it'' but i didn't give any details away, i'd be correct.

I have signed 5 exclusivity agreements so far, and working for Westwood Studios in the past I understand fully how product is treated, and never have I went babbling about stuff coming out, hell my name is on PC games ranging from Eye of the Beholder 2 to Blade Runner, so being on the "inside" is nothing new to me. But the behind the scenes stuff is hella exciting!

This really is stupid:

1. He got in, not as a staff member, at 2am? That is pretty unlikely.
2. Apple are VERY protective of their new devices. They would not let low level members of staff access to the new devices, let alone let them be shown to outsiders
3. I belive Apple Rumors sites, or at least the forums, are blocked by Apple on campus. For obvious reasons, also staff members are meant to be banned from posting on Apple forums. I know this guy wasnt working for them, but he definality was shown a product. The guy who showed him this would be fired
4. At the end of the day he is simply saying 'Apple are going to release something tuesday'. Big woop, didnt see that coming! He posts without details simply so he cannot be proved wrong when something arrives
5. He then goes on to say he doesnt care what people think, and often posts in pusedo-good humored style to make it look like he is not deprate for people to belive him. This is an act to try and make him more credible, if he doesnt care what people think of him then he is in a big effort to let people know that he doesnt care what they think of him. Seems to me like he does care then...

Thank you Damien. You summed up my thoughts exactly (well maybe not #5, but especially #4). And of course if they don't release something cool that obviously has a keyboard and connects to the internet, it was one of Apple's last-minute changes. Frankly this story would be more believable if he had friends in the Chinese manufacturing companies that work with Apple.

The point about the number/timing of his posts is a good one, but it's not really evidence that he's telling the truth. The whole thing is just too hard for me to believe and there's too much unexplained. Not really trying to rip on him, I just don't get it <--that's the truth. I'm done now.

Well, that is an interesting question! I myself went ahead in December and bought a 12" iBook G4 1.33Ghz because I wanted one of the last G4 iBooks
