That was a weird video. He spent 15 minutes recapping all the rumors and saying it would be odd for Apple to have one event in November to announce all six new Macs, since some would use the M1X and others the M2, and then concludes the video by predicting Apple will … hold one event in November to announce all six new Macs.

(He predicts Apple will try to fool people by renaming the M1X the M1 Pro or the M2X.)

I remember when the long wait was for the new 16 inch with ESC key + new magic keyboard, that was the next big thing!

3. There is a good chance that is the MBP design, but if I remember rightly they first blackmailed the money out of said company who basically refused, then they had to approach apple for the ransom, if this was an upcoming design, the manufacturing company didn’t seem bothered they had the schematics for it, so there is every possibility it was just merely a prototype…
Gee, I really hope we don't get a redesigned MBP! Haha. I don't need an SD card slot or HDMI, so not having those slots would be better for me personally! Listen to me Apple and make the new computer just for me and not care about all your other customers!
Oh, and it better have a USB-A slot!

Yeah that was weird. I got done with watching it & was like why did I bother watching this?

This is me too! I have the 16" 2019 MBP i9 chip with 32gb ram and 2tb ssd. Do you think that despite Apple optimizing M1 chips that this machine will last a good 3-4 years still? I'm torn between selling it now and getting an M1 to be future proof software wise
The MBP16 should still be a solid performer for most tasks for the next 3-4 years. It won't get any slower by the introduction of newer, faster models

It's generally a combination of increasing software demands or simply the desire for a faster machine that drives my upgrade decisions.

I considered selling my MBP16 before the introduction of more powerful Apple Silicon versions, but I still use some x86 only software that doesn't run well under Rosetta, and I like the idea of being able to dual-boot it to Windows or Linux, or run x86 virtual machines. I'll probably just keep the MBP16 and will get an MBP14 this year or next, depending on how much of a performance improvement they offer. In my opinion, there's not much point in upgrading unless it's a solid 50% faster for my workloads.

Do we have his track record somewhere? I couldn't find it here

Actually it’s less now for most of them because they were so wrong with the WWDC and I don’t think that track record site reflects it yet.

Does anyone think they'll release another Intel machine or is that unlikely now? Alot of things I use are not compatible with M1 which means I am limited to older machines.

I bought mine a few years ago (it's the 2019 i9 model) but I only have a 512 ssd and fast running out of space, so I would ideally like to upgrade to a 1TB but I'm not able to use M1.

I doubt they’ll release any more Intel laptops. There are rumours of a Mac Pro desktop, but sadly that could be about it.
