And more leaks… this time about price. Again take with a grain of salt.

$1099 for M1X Mac Mini
$1799 for the 14”
$2399 for the 16”

Basically what we were all thinking anyways but again just a “leak” which have been pretty… off this year.
So... the exact same prices as the current models. I could probably believe that, but not hard to predict.

Hm, I don't know. Seems like a mixture of obvious things and odd claims. I'm definitely doubting they would leave room in the bezel to print MacBook Pro down below still. Very interesting if they got heavier - I will probably go with the smaller model if that's the case. The 4.3 lbs of the current 16" is already too heavy.
That's pretty much what the desktop Mac rumour industry is these days. And I'm sure the next week will be really bad for a whole slew of random rumours, "exclusives", all of which will be regurgitated numerous times!

Yeah I was hoping for thinner and lighter TBH. Especially since the battery size of the 16” is supposedly slightly smaller. Plus the M1X chips should have enabled a thinner chassis.

I guess we will see next week! (Still can’t believe I can say that)

If they come with those panels mini-led promotion with 16gb ram M1x starting from $1799 that will place these things as the best value/overall product of the market
I mean the level of quality of the build to the level of the display panel quality to the performance of the cpu+gpu for an 14" laptop will be outstanding and no one will came close in the next 2 years...unless they bring the price down for their existing products...again, are those who are committed and stuck with windows but the others like me, or like us from here that can easily transit our work from macos to windows and back...will be committed to the mac platform..

I'm praying the UK prices for these are reasonable and in line with current trends. I'm expecting £1799 for the base 14". £1699 would be amazing. I fear they'll go for £1999 or something.

yes, i dont think these will be the prices
Apple never kept the same price when they redesign the chassis and also place a new display tech inside
mini-led with promotion+redesign it must add to cost to the current generation
But lets see...if they keep the prices it will be mind blown and the intel versions should be erased from the store since nobody probably will buy them at that price

Yeah, equally, the Apple Silicon Air and Pro from last year didn't go up despite all the R&D that must have gone into the M1. Which are apparently also cheaper for Apple than Intel chips. So I can sort of imagining it staying the same.

Same with the M1 iMac which got a pretty major redesign with a larger higher resolution screen. The 2019 16” also kept the same price as the 15” even with the larger screen, much better graphics options, better speaker, mics, better cooling (though not cool enough for intel). Plus Apple no longer has to share profits with Intel (or AMD for the larger models) and they will save cost on the removal of the Touch Bar.

While it’s certainly possible that Apple increases the prices, I think its equally possible the prices stay the same As they are now. If there is an increase, I would expect it to be pretty small.

Hopefully they will take the slightly higher exchange rate into account, the 13 Pro dropped to £949 from £999 for the entry $999 model so we might see the odd £100 off the USD prices. I’m not expecting USD prices to be cheaper and I’m actually leaning towards the 14” getting more expensive than the 13” it replaces (maybe $1,999/ £1,899 starting?).

lol its not smaller at all.

98 Wh is the new 16" apparently. The old battery size was 99Wh.

It actually makes sense to get 120HZ on this Mac. Now all 3 “Pro” product categories will have promotion (iPad, iPhone, MacBook).

I wonder if the reason why promotion wasn’t on the 12 Pro is because they wanted to wait and roll it out when it was perfected on the MacBook so there wouldn’t be a wait.

Wow. Apple continue to surprise us in both good (Monday 18th Event) and bad (the bizarre Apple Watch 7 release) ways. I hoped for next week, but expected the week after. This is great news for all of us who kept strong!

Wait wait wait... Holy ****. The source is a tweet from Ross Young, who is 100% accurate on AppleTrack:

If he believes they will be 120Hz then so do I. This is so exciting.
I'd slightly temper that excitement. He says "expecting" which means he doesn't know for sure. Let's hope it's true though because that would be fantastic.

New rumors take with a grain of salt. Just the messenger here:

- Notched display (probably for camera cut out due to slimmer bezels).

Again take with a grain of salt but some of this stuff does sound right. Original tweet was translated from Chinese.
OH NO!!!! Don't you dare Apple!!! Haha. You infecting the phones with this malarkey is bad enough, but a computer? We use these for work. Not faffing around. I don't want some ridiculous notch right in the middle of my Keynote toolbar! Let's hope this isn't true because heads need to roll if so.

So thicker, heavier, HDMI & SD instead of 4th USB4 (personal, I don't need em but many others do), uncertainty over blooming from MiniLED and now a notch... Mmm, I have no choice but to get one, but my excitement for a great machine externally is not quite what it was. Internally though, it's gonna be a beast! And that is what really matters.

I wouldn’t give too much attention to those “leaks”. When I posted that leak, it was just to pass on what I was seeing on twitter but I’m not giving any weight to it or any other “leak” that comes out between now and Monday. Personally I don’t see Apple making a laptop with a notch nor do I see them making these things thicker and heavier… could be wrong though. As we saw with the iMac, the leakers are pretty off. At this point I don’t even trust that the chip will be called M1X. I think the only fair assumptions at this point are SD card slot, MagSafe, Multi-display output, much better GPU performance (especially on the 16”), better webcam and maybe HDMI.

Other than that, I fully expect to be surprised on Monday. Even the GPU core amounts could be completely off. We have yet to see a credible benchmark…

Let’s hold off until we have the actual product specs. Right now everything is a rumor other than there’s an Apple event on October 18.

Thats because everyone who bought a 2016 to 2020 Intel MacBook Pro paid for all the R&D experiments. From the keyboard, Touch Bar and thermal issues. The M1 fit like a glove, which probably suggest they likely had this all in development for a very long time. I suspect when Phil Schiller described the A7 SoC as desktop class performance 2013; and the fact that it was the first 64 bit A series; Apple likely started testing macOS on it back then internally. The Skylake issues introduced with the 2016 just probably had the execs sign off moving off Intel fast.

He is no longer expecting, he is saying now that promotion is confirmed too

5 more days left. Everything all be unleashed!

I actually feel a little sorry for Intel… and their investors. If the M1X really is all it’s been hyped up to be (which I think it could actually be more than that), then these small 14” and 16” laptops will be running circles around full scale desktop boxes while also running quieter, cooler and much more efficient. That’s… that’s just and embarrassment…

As long as Apple doesn’t hike up the prices too badly (if at all), this could seriously damage the PC market.
