Waiting for 27" Quad from RESELLERS

I spoke with a customer service rep at club mac last week and they told me my i5 would ship today.
I just got off the phone with them and now they're saying they won't have any in stock until the 27th
So they are again going to lie?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that until Apple can meet it's own sales demands from the website and retail stores, resellers are gonna be SOL. (Afterall... resellers bring the lowest margins)
That Dec 25 date on Amazon might not be totally unrealistic.
I ordered from Mac Connection on 10/24. I was originally told a few times that they were expecting i5's in last Friday or this past Monday. Then, when I checked in last week, they said late November/early December.
The thing that is really ticking me off is that they charged my cc for Applecare and shipped my "box" right when I placed the order. I realize that the warranty doesn't kick in until I get my computer, but not only have I already been charged for the warranty, but now if I decide to cancel my order, I'm sitting on a warranty for nothing. Realize I can transfer it to a computer bought elsewhere, but what if I decide to just not order one?
My point is, warranty shouldn't be charged or shipped until the computer is shipped.

So here is the latest word from PowerMax. They shipped their first batch of the i7 (10 machines) on Monday. That batch was almost every order from OCTOBER. The second batch is gonna be on Thursday or Friday. That has 12 machines is it is for everyone who ordered in early November. If you ordered in late November, you will have to wait. Personally, I'm number 2 in the second batch, and I ordered on Nov 2.

Let us know when you have shipping confirmation. So far, it doesn't sound like anyone has received a QC iMac from a reseller yet. Evidence to prove otherwise is greatly appreciated.
Why do you say that? I didn't order the new iMac immediately, I ordered it nearly 2 weeks after they were announced. I was told that I was in the second batch, which they are receiving either Tomorrow or on Friday.

Let me put it this way, if you were not in the first batch shipped you have no way of confirming they shipped anything. Until someone comes on this forum with FedEx or UPS shipping number from a reseller I will not believe that ANY reseller has received a Quad, let alone a BTO
I will be very very surprised if your ships this week.
Just spoke to Macmall. Originally, they indicated Nov 17 or Nov 20 based on supply. Now they say the item is "back ordered" and it will ship either Nov 20 or Nov 30.
They have no idea or they do have an idea and they just want to keep the orders in place and keep moving the finish line, so as to avoid cancellations.

yes...i agree...don't hold your breath on this one... we've seen over and over again on this thread that ppl have called customer service to various resellers..have been told one thing and it never happened... its so funny that some of these customer service reps will go as far as saying...'yes, we're expecting 331 iMacs on Nov. 17'... i mean, why would you give that exact detail if thats not going to happen... just be honest and say 'we have no clue when we're getting em'... at least thats what amazon is telling me... i'd rather hear that then some bull that they're getting xx number of shipments by such and such date only to see it not happen...
Just got a Message from MacMall :
They say the i7 Quad's will be in either TODAY 11/18 or Friday 11/20. And they will ship right out as soon as they get them.
If anyone watching this thread is waiting from MacMall and you get a shipping notice - please let the rest of us know.

Just cancelled my i5 order from Amazon.
I found out I get 6% off from my EPP. So I went ahead and ordered an i7 from apple. Apple says ship date of Dec. 3rd in my confirmation email.
I'm paying sales tax now, but I really want the i7 after seeing the benchmarks and I don't know if Amazon will ever sell the i7.

I spoke with Michelle at Powermax last Wednesday and she told me that Apple had shipped their first few orders to them and that MINE WAS ONE OF THEM. Sounds to me like the first batch, yeah?? Well guess what, my credit card has not been charged yet and I haven't heard a peep. Hopefully they will receive it and ship out by end of this week. Then, in perfect timing, I will receive my new iMac while I'm away on Thanksgiving vacation. Great.
So with that said, I'm not sure about that first batch on Monday. Like the above poster said, if no one is confirming, then it didn't happen. By the way, I ordered mine from PowerMax on Oct. 23. Maybe they are getting tired of people asking about this so they just entertain us with stories

did they update the order status for you on the website? When they shipped out the first part of my order the status didn't change till I got the items (still waiting on the mac)
