yes...i agree...don't hold your breath on this one... we've seen over and over again on this thread that ppl have called customer service to various resellers..have been told one thing and it never happened... its so funny that some of these customer service reps will go as far as saying...'yes, we're expecting 331 iMacs on Nov. 17'... i mean, why would you give that exact detail if thats not going to happen... just be honest and say 'we have no clue when we're getting em'... at least thats what amazon is telling me... i'd rather hear that then some bull that they're getting xx number of shipments by such and such date only to see it not happen...

I can see exactly why they do it. Its competitive out there, They want your business so they're bound to use any sales techniques to get you to purchase with them..

did they update the order status for you on the website? When they shipped out the first part of my order the status didn't change till I got the items (still waiting on the mac)

Yes, my order status is updated and they provided a tracking number. The iMac was the only item I ordered.

MacMall Update

Looks like MacMall did get some in - they got them in LATE yesterday and re-packed to ship out last night.

I have a UPS tracking number for mine now!!

If your MacMall i7 didn't change with tracking number from their Order Status page...they told me they are getting a bunch more in this Friday.

I think we are all starting to get them from our ReSellers....Yeah!!
:D

Has anyone w/ an Amazon order heard a peep outta them?

I cancelled my order with Amazon last Saturday and upgraded to an i7 from Macmall. The fact that Amazon continues to say that "this product has not yet been released" always bugged me. So that, combined with the news of how much more horsepower the i7 packs for just a couple hundred more, I decided to switch. I think I'm glad that I did - MM even seemed to think that I would be in line to get one from their Friday (tomorrow) delivery. We'll see!

I keep watching Amazon though, to see if they update the product status, and am really curious to hear from someone who actually gets a delivery notice from them.

Uk Apr

I ordered an i5 through a UK Apple Premier Reseller. At the start of this week, I was told that it had been made (it is a BTO) and had been shipped to Ireland and should be with me at the end of this week or start of next.

To my surprise, when I spoke to them today, they said that the quads were all in constraint and mine would be made at the end of next week at the earliest.

Small consolation was that I could upgrade to the i7 which seems to be the sensible thing given the benchmarks.

But I can't work out why they shipped my completed BTO system from Ireland, back to China, took it apart and then used the bits on someone else's iMac.

Also can't work out why lots of our lovely co-posters on here continue to receive machines which were ordered after I placed my order, yet Apple are telling the APR that the production lines have been stopped.

Sigh.

I ordered an i5 from ClubMac on 10/23, and today I got shipment confirmation and tracking number. Apparently it shipped yesterday and it's scheduled to arrive at my doorstep tomorrow!

My own plan had been to give them until Saturday, in which case I'd just go pick one up at the Apple store. (Why Saturday? Because that's the first chance I'd have to actually go there). It does look like they're starting to trickle out of resellers though, so now I"m not sure.

Well I guess I have to bug Club Mac to find out if mine will ship in this batch or not. I do not really care to wait into next week, I will just order from Apple on Black Friday.

Unfortunately, here in Brazil the new models are expected only by December 15th :(

Anyway, im not sure if im going to buy the new model right away due to all those flickering, pinch and other problems.

What do you people think about it?

Has anyone w/ an Amazon order heard a peep outta them?

Nah...not a word from them. I was thinking of giving them a call, but I figured I'd get the same response as I've been getting the 4 or 5 times I've already called them (Has not shipped yet, will let you know as soon as they ship, yadee yadee yah).

I'm also in the same boat as you. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I'll cancel and go to my local Apple Store and buy it there using my EPP (6% off).

With that said, if I end up buying from the store and they end up having this alleged "black friday sale" and it ends up being cheaper then what I purchased it for, can I get the price difference back considering it will be less then a week since I purchased the computer? Anybody know?

iMac i7 from Henry's

I ordered an i7 iMac w/ 8GB RAM, 2TB HD from Henry's in Toronto on November 11. I'm picking it up when it arrives.

Has anyone here received their iMac from Henry's yet?

Will Amazon ever carry the i7? Other retailers (B&H and Macmall) sell them, so why not Amazon? Also, I thought I could only get the i7 direct from Apple until I started reading this forum. So far, B&H has the best price (I live in California) taking into account a 2% Bing rebate.

Club mac order shipped!

I just checked my order status on Club Mac and mine shipped last night as well. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow!

POWERMAX shipped (?)

The great news: I just got a tracking number from Powermax on my 27 I7 that I ordered on October 21 (I was supposedly first in line).
The not so great news: the tracking number doesn't work (might not be in the UPS system yet).....

UPDATE: my tracking works now too - but I wont get it until 11/30.....

PowerMax shipped

Same here from Powermax. Finally shipped my i7 with wired keyboard. UPS tracking doesn't work either but I'm sure when UPS does their pickup from them, it will update on their site.

Update: Tracking Number works now. Won't get mine until Monday 11/30 according to UPS.

Another reseller shipping.....

I ordered my i7 on 10/27 from Small Dog in Vermont. I checked with them Monday and they had received no quad cores and had no idea when to expect them. I got an email from them this morning telling me that it was about to ship (they added another 4Gb of RAM) and now it's en route, scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.

It's replacing a 6 1/2 year old G5. I'm way past ready.

MacMall - Got a UPS Delivery date of this Monday...

Excited they are now delivering...I have about 1 month of catch up on iTunes / iPhoto etc. etc. to get caught up on.

well guys... i waited and waited and waited...and no news from amazon :( so, i'm officially canceling my order and will be going to the apple store tonight to purchase my imac..

as for those of you who DID get your imac from resellers such as clubmac, powermax, etc...congrats to you guys! i'm glad SOME people got some good news out of these resellers

This is my first disappointment with amazon (been a loyal customer for years)..and i think i've learned one lesson from this: when it comes to high in demand apple products, (as big of a reseller as amazon is) it looks like amazon will always be at the end of the line behind the more 'mac specialized' vendors...

Finally!

I just went on Amazon to cancel my order and order from another seller only to find out it is now being prepared for shipping and order can't be cancelled!!! Also my bank account has been charged which means it's about to ship! YAY!!
