Anyone with i7 being shipped to uk by UPS had there ordered changed from 'in transit' to 'exception'? Says it did that in Germany but only just left Korea...Bit confused anyone know what my exception could be...doesnt explain on my tracking

Here's mine - it had to wait to be released by the clearing agency (whatever that is). Only took 4 minutes though. All things being equal it should be delivered tomorrow!!!

It's on its way!!!!

Just this second received a message from Apple confirming that my 27" iMac i7 has been shipped today with a delivery date of Nov 23rd (or before).:)

Until this morning it was showing a shipping date of Nov 27the with delivery due Dec 6th.

LoCarbHotRod,

Congrats mate!! :apple:

Go make yourself a new thread as the first person on planet earth (MacRumors) to receive his i7. There was a new i5 thread, you deserve one for the first i7 too!!

Enjoy, please do tell us your first hand experience with the i7 apart from the benchies!

Lol, thanks guys. I guess I'll make a thread. Just watch out for the angry Mac Pro owners! :p

The screen is stunning, but do change the default apple wallpaper. It's blurry and it doesn't do the screen any justice.

The Magic Mouse has the most organic feel to it. The scrolling is very natural, like it should've been that way from the get go. You guys will get yours soon, it is worth the wait I promise! This machine should last us a long time.

I can't believe it!

48 hours ago I was happy to see my i7 was "prepared for shipment". Yesterday I was ecstatic when I woke up and found that my new iMac had already shipped, and I was provided a tracking number with a delivery date for tomorrow (11/13). This morning when I checked the tracking info, I learned that the computer is already "on the FedEx vehicle, out for delivery". Yeah, I'm psyched!

I think I'm two days behind everyone... Just got the "prepared to ship" on my i7 sometime in the night! Hopefully i'll be getting mine early next week (I'm located in w.mass)!!

My i7 BTO was ordered (W653*) on 10/20 a couple hours after the site went back up.

Apple’s email said delivery would be Monday, FedEx said Friday. Well I check today and it is in town and on the truck for delivery! I had originally paid for 2-day shipping.

My i7 went Shanghai > Anchorage > Indianapolis > my city in the Midwest > on the truck
For those showing ‘in transit’ it means it is on the plane to AK. It should be there 11:30am local time if it is on the same flight from yesterday.

This is great an all but I planned on working from home tomorrow, not today. I called FedEx to see if I could pick it up at the airport myself but they said they needed to make one attempt first. I know I could pre-sign but I don’t trust my new baby sitting outside when it looks like rain.

Yeah, mine is showing the exact same thing. So the shipment goes to Alaska? I hope mine can skip Memphis and just go straight to Atlanta but I imagine there will be at least one other leg in between.

Oh well. No iMac on my birthday, but it will be a nice post-birthday gift for next week.

MINE TOO! I'm too I'm in Atlanta as well showing monday delivery.

Also planned on working from home Friday but when I saw it was out for delivery, I decided to work from home today!

Screen is brilliant compared to my imac 24. Installing updates now, the firewire port is different so I may not be able to migrate my mac today...we'll see...

I took some iPhone shots but I don't know how to post...

I think yours and essefs (above) are on the same route as mine (i7 to London).

Not sure what is going on. Mine is on an exception as well. I would anticipate they are pretty much in or on their way to Cologne now after which they'll come to London. I would guess this is the case as there has been a departure scan in Korea.

That weird message from Cologne that shows up a day previous to it being in Korea is most likely because they prepare the paperwork EU side prior to it showing up. I've now got the following showing from Cologne.

"PACKAGE DATA PROCESSED BY BROKERAGE. WAITING FOR CLEARANCE / RELEASED BY CLEARING AGENCY. NOW IN-TRANSIT FOR DELIVERY"

Guess they're in a queue to get through customs in Cologne. Will most likely update quite soon. I don't think the updates on the UPS side are in real time so I wouldn't worry.

I have an estimated delivery date of the 13th. Would find it unlikely that it would get delivered by then.

Awesome!! Looks like mine is on the same flight from Korea that yours is! If it comes tomorow ill be well impressed. I was expecting it to turn up right at the end of November even if everyone elses came today as i have the worst luck ever with these things!!!!
Bring on tomorow!

how is the firewire port different? I thought it was supposed to be the same on the new 27" iMacs as it was on the 24" ones?

Wiating

Still waiting on my i7. I originally ordered an i5 on 10/26 and then changed it to an i7 on 11/6. Man I wish it was here! I'm glad to see others are being shipped now though bc that means mine should be getting closer. Almost 3000 posts on this thread in less than a month! Crazy!

I just spoke to a representative at UPS and she confirmed (barring unforeseen events) delivery is still scheduled for tomorrow.

The Shipping Process For UK?

"Here's mine - it had to wait to be released by the clearing agency (whatever that is). Only took 4 minutes though. All things being equal it should be delivered tomorrow!!!"

Hi Esseff,
Congratulations & know you''ll enjoy when it arrives.
Reason for my question about the process is what's so frustrating is not knowing the steps & how long (that also applies to line-dancing that I avoid like the plague-all that achy-breaky leg stuff!).
I ordered early on 22nd PST, got my prepared to ship Tuesday pm, shipped yesterday afternoon with email 7.20 last night but still awaiting tracking number so do NOT have the detail you have. Got my Applecare Certificate this morning but nothing since.
Seems from your details each stage in the process is roughly 1 or 2 days depending on the time zones-is that about right?
Thanks for the info

My i7 was just delivered. Said it was going to be here tomorrow but I got it today. So much for a productive work day.:D

Good news for all norwegians!

I feel a bit silly after being all down yesterday because of me ordering the very first day the iMac was announced, and yet I had not heard anything more from my order. Well today I got this wonderful message in my inbox:

mac.gif.jpg

This is a full blown i7 with 8GB ram and 2TB disk. As if that wasn't great enough news, I finally found someone to buy my gaming computer. Two great mails right next to eachother :D Oh happy day.

Update for those with the below tracking.....

FedEx flight 84 carrying 255 iMacs is en route to Anchorage. The flight is on-time.
Due in a bit early to AK at 9:51am AK time.

Right now, I think we'll get our iMacs tomorrow instead of Monday.

http://www.flightstats.com/go/Fligh...htNumber=84&departureDate=2009-11-12&x=27&y=7

How do you know your iMac is on this flight? Did you give them your tracking number? I still show mine as circling the Shanghai Airport with the guy now saying "圣废话"... It is too late in the day here on the East Coast to assume anything would get to the FedEx Hub in Boston and out by tomorrow. I am sure Monday is the day, assuming the guy on the cart can find the airplane.

Something strange about the FedEx Tracking. I am looking at the tracking information having selected the Destination Time Zone, which is GMT -5. Now according to my trusty watch, it is 11:04 AM EST. Which means the in transit date and time have not yet occurred. Looking at Shanghai time, this event occurred on Nov 13, 2009 at 5:49 AM. Since it is now Nov 13, 2009 12:04 AM in Shanghai, this confirms that my status is showing future time... Boy that guy driving the cart actually found out how to travel into the future.
