Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

ordered i7 yesterday

Just ordered i7 yesterday and got the ship date Dec 1 to arrive in Houston Dec 4! Merry Christmas to me :D

My local Apple store was POSITIVE that they would have the i7 in stock even though it was a BTO because of 'demand' in the area. idk. Finally gave up and just ordered online instead.

This made me laugh... Soo soo true! Mine finally shipped this weekend and is due to arrive thursday, but it's already left anchorage a few hours ago so maybe late tomorrow!
 
Happy to join you guys waiting. I ordered my 27" iMac (stock config except with i7) yesterday. Been checking the order status page furiously but it hasn't changed yet from the initial "Not yet shipped." Not sure when it's going to but I doubt my furious refreshing will calm down for a while yet. I'm not a very patient person in general, but even less so when it comes to shiny new toys.

Anyone who ordered one of these recently have any idea how long it's taking them to ship these days? As with fallspyder, it tells me it'll ship December 1 and arrive by December 4. Not sure if I'll make it that long before I combust — really hoping for something sooner!

As if to rub it in, I ordered a 21.5" iMac (cheapest one) for a client the day before, and it got here today. It's sorely testing my patience!

Hearing that Y'all are ordering units now and getting delivery straight away i gave apple another call and discussed this annoying delivery scheme.

I remained calm and the operator was very polite and friendly.

I gathered from him that the reason why people who ordered before the system went off line in early November still have "Not Yet Shipped" as the status is common, and it will not update or give you an estimated delivery date until your iMac actually ships.. There was an update to the shipping system and our orders are on the old one. He could not explain why they were not shipping before the more recent orders, only that he can only tell me what management allow him to tell me.
It doesnt make sence, but that is how it is.

The next shipping date for orders upto the 20th Nov to Australia is the 24/25th of November. This is when they will leave the factory and head down under.
Again why they are stockpiling the orders would seem to be to save money with bulk shipping. He assured me that my order will be in that shipment.

I guess none of this applies to US orders as they are getting sent almost daily.

Ohh well, time to forget about it for a week or so me thinks.
 
Alright, I'm getting pissed. Ordered on the 22nd of Oct. Still, NOT YET SHIPPED. People ordering yesterday have A DATE!!!! I would love just a DATE, an estimate, anything....COME ON APPLE!

No offense, but I find this hard to believe. Have you talked to Apple about this?

At Last

A tracking number and.......out for delivery by UPS. To all my fellow UK sufferers on that slow boat from China hope you get yours soon. It was just 24 hours from 'UK Delivery Centre' & still no tracking number to delivery. Hope that's useful.
 
US getting them ship regularly

No way I'm in the USA (New York) a/k/a Big Apple. Ordered 10/28 i7 still nothing not even a word! On the phone with Apple numerous times nothing sounds like a old charlie brown show wah wah wah (you hear something but can't seem to make it out). Nothing left to do. Spoke with some high level manager he gave me some Bull____about putting me on some special list to move me up in priority lol? wtf the losers priority? I should of been ahead of tons who got there's already. Burning mad does not describe my emotions !
 
At last, mine too is out for delivery! Core i7 iMac ordered on the 21st, shipped on the 11th.
 
Has anyone got his i7 over a merging in Prague (CZ)?

I became the delivery-notice on Nov. 14 and the delivery date says on or before Nov. 24 ... but that seems a little long.

Since the delivery-notice nothing has changed and I can not track it because it's shipped via Schenker.

I would love to have it on Friday or Saturday but I think that will not be possible. Damn, I ordered on Oct. 25 and it's enough waiting now.

To those who ordered in October who have not yet had a Shipping Notification, I would suggest you call Apple, without my two calls and them trying trying to speed it up I am not convinced that it would be here today.

Now.... how many days to the next iMac update :p
 
Just got my i7 (a BTO with 8GB, 2TB and remote) on the 17th. I live in western Washington. I believe I placed my order on Oct 26th. Sorry to hear some people who ordered sooner than me are still waiting. And I won't have time to unbox and set mine up until Thursday, so its sort of a waste that I got mine this soon while others have to wait.
 
Mine has just shipped via UPS Ireland (I'm in the UK), tracking number doesn't work yet though.

I ordered the standard i7 on the 10th of this month, those who ordered in October and still have no info must be going crazy. :eek:

Must confess, I'm a little green with envy - mine is "Still In Transit to Customer" but with todays date (18th) - fingers crossed it won't now slip to 19 November and therefore closer to delivery of the 25th/26th delivery to me.

Mine arrived yesterday (ordered on 4th, arrived on 17th), stock i7.

added 4gb myself before turning it on for the first time.

No flickering screen, no flicking on dimmed screen, no youtube problems, no strange sounds, no hard drive sound (at least no more than the Core Duo early 2006 I was using before) and no dead pixels. This machine is a dream.

It's worth waiting for this thing, really.

Hey John, I'm just curious as to when you ordered and what spec? I'm trying to work out how long it'll take an i5 base to ship to the good old Ham of Notting (Ordered 13th Nov) since people ordering this week seem to be getting shipping dates already =o/

My iMac touched down in Newark NJ earlier this morning. So, it looks like tomorrow is going to be the day!
