i7 iMac (standard config plus iWork pre-installed) ordered 10/28/09 9:31am PST. Order # W654xxxxx

"Cancel Items" button greyed out on 11/10.

Credit Card Pre-authorized on 11/8. Credit Card pre-authorization dropped off on 11/11. Credit card has not been charged.

Order status just went to "Prepared for shipping".

So if there is anyone out there who ordered in October and who is still "Not yet shipped", there's hope yet!

That would mean since it took 8 days for it to go from cancel button greyed out to shipping, mine which has fully functional cancel button must be at least 8 days from shipping :(

What exactly are people referring to as "grayed out" cancel buttons? My cancel, return items, and print all invoices have looked "grayed out" since the moment I placed my order, but they are still all active links, even though my order is Prepared for Shipping (I assume trying to cancel the order at this point would bring up an error at some point after I clicked the cancel link).

Anchorage must be huge......

Almost as big as Shanghai........

My iMac spent 51 hrs in transit (bleep) in transit (bleep) in transit (bleep) in transit, in Shanghai before arriving in Anchorage.

It's spent the last 26+ hrs in transit (bleep) in transit (bleep) in transit (bleep) in transit, in Anchorage.

Was scheduled for delivery almost twelve hrs ago, but never made it out of Anchorage.

No new delivery date posted, however, it says that it has now "departed FedX location in Anchorage.

Another ten or twelve hrs, and it will probably end up in Anchorage again.

Friggin Wormholes

They are referring to a non working link.

The text and usually the entire field changes to a lighter color when the ability to click on that link is removed.

You usually do not get an error, it's just a link that does not work

It can depend on your method of payment. I used the "Bill me later" option and my buttons were grayed out as soon as I completed the order. When I clicked on them it said I must phone to make changes to my order because of my method of payment.

I ordered Oct. 31 and just got it today Nov. 18. An i7, 8 gb ram, 2 TB drive. It is perfect, no scratches, no dust , no flickering and very quiet. I am surfing while transferring my 800 gb Aperture library.

I can click on cancel my order and it brings up a new page with a checkbox to click and asks for a reason to cancel.
The cancel button is blue.
I assume once my computer is manufactured and almost prepared for shipping they stop that link from working, so it becomes grayed out.

Finally got mine today around 1:30pm. Initially FedEx said before 10:30am today. Noon rolled around and it still wasnt here so I gave them a call and asked if they could call the driver and find out when he would be here so I could go on living my life. She called me back 10 minutes later and told me the driver would be here by 1:30 at the latest.
When he delivered he mentioned normally he would have hit the town to the north of me first which wouldve put him at my house sometime after 4pm. I thanked him for changing his route and then wet myself when I witnessed what was being delivered.

This i7 is so worth the wait people. It is awesome.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but shipping on apple.ca is now 7-10 days for the quads, anyone else like myself order there's at the beginning of november and still waiting?

it has been mentioned but thats ok :)
yes I ordered mine on the 6th, no change in status.
The shipping changed to 7-10 days on the 16th, so add 7 - 10 business days to that and you get 25-30th November. Hardly an improvement on the current 'ships November'!

Just got shipment notification!!!! woooooohooo est ship date Nov 24th before 4:30 pm sometimes my fedex shipments arrive before that date keeping my fingers crossed I ordered on Nov 12th good luck everyone.

ok so since I posted that my order has changed to Prepared to Ship!!!!
Very excited now suddenly.
Funny how your mood can change so fast.
I have 2-3 day shipping so we'll see how long it takes!

Bwuh? Mine now says 'PACKAGE DATA PROCESSED BY BROKERAGE. WAITING FOR CLEARANCE ' with a location of Mount Hope, Ontario. That's where the Hamilton airport is. It can't have gotten here from China that quickly. It's got to be some sort of pre-clearance process.

My i7 just shipped a few minutes ago. Ordered 11/12 @ 10:30PST. Scheduled for delivery on 11/23. Paid for 2-3 day delivery. We'll see what happens.

Seems I'm checking at the right times. First I check my order; next I check in here. Seeing the new status and the location's proximity gave me a big toothy grin. :D

It might just be possible for the shipment to travel the distance somewhat close to that time. It's a 15-hour trip, right? Maybe the given times are off somewhat. Maybe the export scan was done by reading a massive bar code on the side of the plane at it lifted off in Shanghai, instead of when the packages themselves were in holding. Beep! A massive grocery check-out of sorts?!

It's definitely too late to be online and I'm delirious. No matter what, I'm hopeful we'll get our systems on time, on Monday.

I know what grayed out usually means, but the links on my order page have always had what would normally be called a grayed out appearance...i.e. they are light gray text on a slightly darker gray background. In fact I have another cancelled order that I can access, and that order's cancel link has the same appearance and it's still an active link...but when I click on it a box pops up telling me I can't cancel it again. Basically I'm skeptical that people who say their cancel link was "grayed out" after their order was prepared/shipped didn't just not notice what the link looked like before...or maybe my links have always been grayed out for some weird reason.

until an hour ago my iMac said "ships november" and the cancel button was blue. Clicking it loaded a new page with a box I could tick and a reason to choose for cancelling.
now it says 'prepared for shipping' the cancel button is grey, and clicking it brings up a box that says "Your item(s) have either been prepared for shipment or have already shipped. You may be able to return them from the Order details page."
That is what greyed out means.

Hi Dylan, yep there are thousands of us who ordered our iMacs preorder who are patiently watching all the other orders go straight past.

The 7-10 days might not apply to you if you ordered before the ordering system change over date, especially if your order is still at "Not Yet SHipped" You will be waiting a long time. Apple does not seem to care either, noone has bothered to do anything about it that the customers can see.

You can try calling apple, but they will give you some crap excuse, believe me.
If you are in the states your mileage might vary and you might get yours shipped.

Over here in the convict colony of Australia apparently our Government is still deciding weather pre-ordered apple products are allowed in the country, even if you call them on your iPhone.

I hope you do get yours shipped soon, im on day 21 of "Not yet shipped" with a big bag of BS excuses from Apple, and no Imac. I guess it teaches me a lesson to not ever pre-order anything from Apple, jsut sit back and wait and see what happons..........

Cool, you will be turning yours on 2 days before Apples "best estimate" that mine will be ready to be shipped from shanghai even though i ordered two weeks before you did.

Awesome Apple, simply Awesome! </Sarcasm>

By the sounds of it you will love it, i hear they are a great machine.

Well with a bit of luck theres a pallet load of imacs in the uk ready to rock n roll.

As thats 2 of us with the same dispatch date etc im hopeful.

Thats said, this is :apple: and will prob be a mind game

Just checked on progress before I leave for work and I think they were dispatched from the UK, which is why the estimated delivery time is so soon:

DERBY, GB 11/19/2009 4:30 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
TAMWORTH, GB 11/19/2009 3:18 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
TAMWORTH, GB 11/18/2009 11:33 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
GB 11/18/2009 4:38 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

So good news to anyone waiting in the UK: Maybe they do have a quantity in the country ready for dispatch.

Just got shipping notification...left Shanghai and will arrive on 11/25. This was ordered on 11/13 with standard shipping.

Their pre-order system has been broken for years. When the Power Mac G5 came out in 2003 I pre-ordered. Some of us waited months. By the time I finally got it, it was available in Next Byte just by walking in.

Yep. I know how you feel. That is why I wanted to let you know it's not personal, it's just the system.
