Howdy RaySpotter, check out the aussie waiting thread for my latest adventures. I totally sympathise with you - its one thing to be jerked around by apple but its a whole new level when they do nothing to help you when you bring it to their attention.
I hope it works out for you in the end, the battle to buy a mac is not over!

I haven't check back on this thread since I got mine almost 2 weeks ago, but I just want to say the wait is worth it. Truly a work of art. I often find myself glancing at it through out the day just to admire it.

It has been a painful wait but UPS confirm that it is on the van for a delivery today. I begged the day off work and I'm sat here like a goon waiting. Please oh please be a good one......AND HURRY UP UPS!!

Ordered mine through a reseller 26th of October. They said it is coming from the Netherlands directly (I`m Swiss) but yeah no order status change. The reseller said that it can be anything from two weeks till next year
My Macbook Pro is slowly dying so I might have to go out and rent a replacement or buy another machine in the meantime. God almost been a month since I ordered it and still no details. I`m almost close to just switch back to Windows

Did you get a better deal from the reseller? My Français is a little rusty but I'm pretty sure it says 5 to 7 business days to shipping at the Swiss Apple Online Store. Could you cancel with the reseller and reorder directly from Apple?

Well, despite the reports that popped up on all the Mac sites about potentially widespread DOAs and cracked screens I can't recall seeing too many folks in this thread reporting such issues.
Mine was perfect out of the box and is still going strong at 7 hours and counting. Now I keep waiting for the display to start flickering or something.

Well not really, only about $40 but my point was that they have some extremely knowledgeable people working there. It also is my photography equipment supplier...I thought it is good to have someone on my side that you can actually reach by phone that knows what he/she is talking about unlike Apple support lol
My mate ordered it last week and will probably get it before I do...while I can appreciate that Apple wants to make the most profit (I want to do that too) I don`t think the way all this is handled is great business...in the end I`m also an Apple customer.

I was in the same situation, had ordered trough a reseller. I decided to cancel, and order directly from Apple.
Because of some Uni-discount I didn't even know about, I ended up saving money. And got a proper order (instead of having to ask the reseller every now and then if they have heard something), delivery should be somewhere around 7-10.dec. Order date 24.nov.
The order site at Apple says "Fast shipping", so that's what I am hoping for.
Oh, I got the i5. And this will be my first Mac.
Well canceling is not really an option anymore. If I cancel now I probably wouldn`t get it much faster...just hope they will receive couple of units soon. To add to that, I don`t want to risk the business relation I have with my photography supplier. It`s not their fault that they don`t get the machines.

Stayed at home all summer while the rest of my family was on vacation in the States, was gonna buy the previous gen one but thanks to this website i decided to way, and i was about to die in agony when they finally released the new ones...
Then i waited a bit more for the i7 to start shipping.
Anyways, ordered my i7 along with a remote on sunday 22nd and it says that the delivery is expected between the 9th and the 14th of december.
I have a few questions though,
Reading here, i saw that some people got their machines much faster than that, so should i expect it to get here before the estimated delivery dates or no?
Second the shipping method says "Merge In Tnst NL Til " what does that mean? does it mean that both packages (the imac and the remote) will merge at some point during the way?
And finally, do you guys reckon the fact i ordered a remote with it will make the delivery take longer?
