Hi ABG, Can I just ask what spec imac you ordered? I placed my order on the 5th via phone and the ammount was deducted from debit card about a minute after the call yet I still have 'Not yet shipped' status.

The estimated shipping date is the 21st and delivery date is the 31st, a day earlier than yours yet you seem to have your item shipped. I am wondering if my requested specification the reason for a slower delivery...

I really do hope the reported hardware faults and have been fixed and everyone is now recieving fully functioning systems!

Hi Abu Tech,
Its nothing fancy: 27" i7, with wired keyboard, remote and I ordered a HP touch-smart printer at the same time. All the items on the order are showing as shipped, and I now have the email for the applecare (Edu store version). It seems cheeky of Apple to advise it starts from the 12th (i.e when they start the sending process and not when I get it)

Anyway -I don't have any shipping details as yet but its been less than 24hours since I was advised it was being shipped (just) so I guess those will show up soon. Hoping it arrives 21/22nd as I'm at home both those days

Also hoping like you that it works!

Apple is evil. Mine is "Not Yet Shipped" and yet people who ordered it on the 8th and 7th are already preparing to ship or already shipped? While I ordered mine on the 5th. Though if Apple is making sure mine is problem free while the ones that are shipping now are not guaranteed I won't mind. :p

Sorry about that.
If I get problems with mine I'll be sure to pass on the good news to you! :p :D

Out of curiosity - why do people by apple care when they order the iMac? Dont you have up to a year from date of purchase to buy it? I ordered my iMac and did not get apple care, figuring I would purchase it later from amazon or some place like that...

I also ordered my i7 the same day as you and it still shows as not being shipped. Not sure how they are handling the queuing, it does not appear to make any sense. What time of day did you order yours?

Well I personally got AppleCare for $119( yay edu discount). Plus, you have 90 days of phone support on the standard warranty. So outside of the 90 days, you have to pay to call Apple Support.

Ahhh - I didnt even think to look at that - I got the edu discount on my system but did not order apple care - wonder if I can change that.

Update: Its always $119 with the edu discount so no reason to add it now. I guess at 90 days if you are having problems it might be worth picking up. Theoretically couldnt you pick it up at any time during the fitst year and get the free phone support?

My 5o week old imac have dead pix and yellow tint

Just got my i7 27" imac with 8gb 2 days ago.

so far discover yellow tint on the right hand bottom of the screen.
one big black plastic "dust" behind the glass but kinda shake it down to where
not visible any more. and 2 dead pix.

so this one going back, its a week 50.

I ordered my week 50 i7 on November 28th. My credit card wasn’t charged until December 11- the day of shipment. (Actually, Apple charged my card immediately for the Apple Care). The original shipping date was December 14 with an arrival of December 17. Since I live in Memphis, I bet it will be on the truck for delivery tomorrow (since it arrived at 4:00am on a Sunday). The only change I made to the order was a full wired keyboard.

Thanks for letting me know. I ordered the Core i7 with 8GB of RAM, Apple Remote and like yourself I ordered Apple Care (all on Higher Education Discount). I have rechecked my bank account and funds are still there so I'm assuming that initially the funds were being held as many companies do this to ensure the funds are in place and return after 10 days.

I am in the same boat, just hoping like many others that I get it sooner rather than later but I guess the later we get them the higher probability of problem free system. Im not worried, but just seeing everyone getting theirs shipped is making me impatient!!!

I ordered mine yesterday--simple enough i7, 4gb ram, 1tb HD...says shipping date will be the 29th, and delivery will be the 4th.

The printer I ordered at the same time has already shipped and the money deducted from my account. Obviously no money has been taken for the iMac.

I really, really, really, really, hope it'll get here quicker than it says it will. :D

I ordered an i7/8GB/2TB on Wednesday, December 9th.

Just got shipment notification. Already departed FedEx location in China with an estimated delivery of Wednesday. Based on previous experience, I bet it will be here Tuesday. I just live in the right spot, I think.

Anyway, so much for the two weeks. My original shipment estimate was the 23rd, and I ordered after they changed on the store to saying "Ships in 2 weeks."

I guess production hasn't been halted after all.

wtf!!!! Now a 9th order ships before mine? How does Apple select who's order gets built?

EDIT: Just checked my status and I can feel a bit better. Prepared for shipment. :D

I don't believe this. Would you be able to post a screenshot of your order page?

I don't belive this. Would you be able to post a screenshot of your order page?

What would I possibly have to gain by lying? I'm not sure what's crazier - that I've just been called a liar or that there are people who care that much! I'm honored, I guess!

I should add that I ordered through a corporate affiliate program, which may have something to do with the fast turnaround on the order.

Does it make sense that people who ordered 2 days ago are getting there's next week and I ordered mine on black Friday and they've changed the shipping date twice already. Now I get to wait until the 6th of Jan. This is rediculous! I don't even get to enjoy it for Christmas. Sadly this is my first experience with Apple. I'm extreamly disappointed.

*sigh*

That's my replacement i7. Was ordered on the 12th, so that's 15 days to build and 6 to ship (faster shipping than my first to be fair, which took 10 days).

Just received my i7, ordered on November 27th and shipped on the 12th of december. There is a 3 pixel wide hair, or congregation of dust particles stuck underneath the screen, but I'm not bothered by it yet. The machine is so miraculous a feat of engineering as I've ever seen one. Happy Hols!

I just recieved an email today confirming the imac being shipped today (14th) and that an estimated delivery date of the 16th!

Shortly before recieving this email I got another one from apple stating the following:-

Thank you for your recent Apple Store order.

We understand that your order may have been intended as a Christmas gift and in order to expedite delivery of your goods, we have split your order.

To view the latest status of your order please visit http://store.apple.com/uk/managemyorder

Kind regards,
The Apple Online Store

I was worried that I would be staring at remote and apple care box with no imac but its the opposite - the imac has been shipped and the other two items have yet to be despatched?!?!

IMO that's just the default dates for orders they send out by autoreply - mine wasn't arriving until Jan until Dec 12th when they said it had been despatched!

However still no details carrier etc on mine - the UK gets none of the info that US customers see. Usually the first info I get is when it arrives into the UK:rolleyes:

Ordered: Dec 7th - i7 w/ wired num keyboard and 3 day shipping

Well, I did just call Apple and they did admit that the demand is incredibly high right now. Actual build time for BTO is 3 days, but then there's the issue of the queue. The rep is going to try and put a rush on it, as it is a replacement, but they couldn't guarantee anything. I'm not expecting it before Jan.

As for UK tracking - yep, it's rubbish. I got my UPS tracking number at 8pm the night before it arrived at my door.

Sitting here waiting for the sound of the UPS van with my i7 2TB in it as i type this.

Will be interested to know what the "EXCEPTION" that was mentioned on the tracking site was!

These extra 4 gigs of ram have been sitting here for two weeks (they were ordered at the same time as the computer on black friday and came next day thanks to crucial & royal mail) and i think they're getting lonley.

Indeed the Apple UK order status page gives little information - I went to the UPS site and entered my tracking number and got the following info -

Status: In Transit
Rescheduled Delivery Date: 16/12/2009
