Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

received my 27" i7 this morning at 9a (EST). :)

Ordered Nov 30th.

I'm at work so I'll test it out this evening when I get home and post whether or not it has issues. Or... I may just shut the door to my office and tell people I'm on a conference call...
 
I spoke way too soon. 10 minutes in and the screen is flickering, the hardrive sounds like a coffee pot and there are horizontal lines that go across the screen about 3 inches thick. The screen blacks out about every two minutes. I'm updating the software now. Let's hope for the best.

Bad luck. It seems the marked improvement is in weeks 49 and 50. We can only hope it'll keep improving. I'm waiting till January to order.

Software won't do anything. I had a week 48 model too, and I got the flickering problems shortly after opening the box. Get a replacement and don't waste any more time on the machine.

I'm hoping the week 50 models (my replacement will probably be a week 52!) have fixed things.
 
I should be on FedEx flight 92 if I done my research correctly. It is almost an hour out of Anchorage right now. Though it did say I missed the cutoff. So maybe I am not on the flight. :(
 
My serial number for mine that shipped yesterday is a week 50. Does anyone know if the weeks are calender weeks? Like would week 51 have started yesterday on Sunday?

Well it arrived on 2nd Dec and I've had no issues at all, apart from the obvious stealing my life away with tweaking it just the way I want it :)

I mention this for those out there waiting and worrying if it'll be a dud when it arrives. Mine's fine, and I expect the majority are.

I can probably safely say mine was not on FedEx Flight 92 as it landed 2 hours ago and my tracking has yet to update. :(
 
I received my 27" i7 this morning. Wow, what a thing of beauty! It is absolutly stunning. Also, it hasn't had any of the problems listed on this forum (yet). I was pretty nervous opening it and turning it on. I also didn't want to run the yellow test, but all is good. :)

btw: I think Handbrake has taken some performance enhancing drugs. just crazy.

Hi All

I am a completely new Mac User and ordered my 27" i7 on Black Monday, which was shipped on Thursday and arrived by UPS in London this morning.

It's a week 50 Machine and so far (7 hours in) all seems good with no dead pixels, no yellow tinge, no hard drive noise and no screen flickering.

Keeping my fingers crossed for problem free Mac usage and am trying to learn the new OS :)

Hopefully not. Stay positive, but don't get too hopeful just in case. Still, maybe you'll see it go out in a couple days!!! Congrats. Wish me luck on my order today.
 
My week 50- i7 arrived today! No cracked or broken screen. I popped in a 4GB memory upgrade; repacked it; wrapped it; and put it under the tree! This will be a long 11 days! Every time I walk through the den I glance at the box and feel the anticipation.

I wont' to get to fire it up until Christmas so I can't comment on flickering or yellow tinge or other issues.

Smart going. It will make your special day better having the iMac to fire up that day rather than now.
