My i7 changed its status to Shipped as of yesterday. Ordered Dec 7. No tracking info yet. Delivery date is now on Dec 25 (!!), so it must be sent through Santa Claus :). Hoping for an earlier delivery. Serial: W8950xxxx so it is a week 50 machine.

Well....got my shipping status today....delivery info say my i7 should arrive on the 18th.....can you tell me where I can find the serial number on the shipping info so I can see what week machine I got....thanks!

Stuck in LOUISVILLE, KY for 2 days!

Status: In Transit
Scheduled Delivery Date:
15/12/2009 (Updated)
17/12/2009 (Original)
Shipped To: TORONTO, ON, CA

Regarding week number: UPS has whole bunch of reference numbers including, but not limited to, a number that looks like S/N of machine.

At some point the UPS tracking page removed Scheduled Delivery Date information. Just says "Shipped To: TORONTO, ON, CA". They have 2 days to deliver it from LOUISVILLE, KY to Toronto, ON. I can't believe they don't provide detailed information for shipment to Canada! Is it too far and cold and wild for them to bother? ;-))

Did you guys call and complain if your iMac was late? What did you get as a "pain relief"? Apple care?

K

Look for string that starts with "W89..." Next 2 digit number is the week your iMac was made.

Thanks....will I get that number after I get more detailed shipping info?....presently the status is shipping on 12/15.....delivery set for 12/18....thanks!

You'll have to log into your account, and then click the "Print all invoices" link. Should be on there.

I placed my order for my i5 on Dec. 8. My expected ship date is Dec. 22 with an expected arrival of Dec. 28, but my order status has been "Prepared for Shipment" for about two full days now. I am anxiously awaiting a shipping notification email.

My only issue is that the "Need it by Dec. 24" chart on the front page of Apple's website says that for custom iMac orders to order by midnight PST on Dec. 8. According to my Order Status page, my order was placed at Dec 8, 2009 at 07:03 PM PST. I am a little bummed at the expected delivery date of Dec. 28, but encouraged by the "Prepared for Shipment" status!

Hey guys, I'm on the same boat with you now. Shipped today, delivery by Dec 18th.
My i7 was originally ordered on Black Friday, and scheduled for delivery by Dec 16th. Somehow, apple store automated system cancelled my order on the 11th, they reinstated the order and gave me a nice discount for their mistake, but I've been told that it's very unlikely my computer will arrive before Christmas. Well... it will! Thank you, Apple :)

Looks like mine shipped today too. hopefully it gets here to Utah before the end of the week. It appears that there is no detailed tracking information on UPS's website...strange. It doesn't give me a delivery date yet...maybe because it says it's still in China. Congrats to all those that got theirs already!

Received mine Monday!

Hi all,

My order (i7 2.8, 2TB) from 27th Nov arrived Monday 14th, here in the UK after being held up for one day with customs/import clearance. All is good, no broken glass, no dead pixels and no graphics tearing issues so far. Week 50 machine.

There is some very slight fan noise, compared with my almost silent 24" iMac, but that's only with nothing else on in the background. And frankly considering quad cores and the large HD, I can't complain. Hence I thought it worth reporting a good outcome, as there seem to be a lot of negative views posted. But I'm very happy!

How do you know what flight it's on? There's two for today (FX 28 and FX 90), and my tracking info page says "Dec 15, 2009 11:28 PM (Shanghai time), Left FedEx origin facility, SHANGHAI CN"

Yours is still in China. While mine says, " In Transit: Shanghai, China" which means it left and it left at 9:16 PM China time and the FedEx Flight 28 left at 9:16 PM China time. So I am on the flight by logical thinking. :)

While FedEx Flight 90 has not left yet.

Oh, nevermind. I must be on flight 90 as well, because my page still says "Left FedEx origin facility"

Anyway here's the flight 90 link:

You can bet that I've signed up for alerts. :p

That FlightAware site is pretty amazing. The sheer amount of information they have is quite astonishing.

The fact that I know my iMac was 33,000ft in the air at 1:23EST is pretty damn cool.

I'm so jealous at all you guys who already have your iMac 27" i7... I (and a lot of other dutch people) ordered at the 22nd of October at a reseller in the Netherlands. We don't have an official Apple Store over here, so that was not an option.

Anyway, no reseller in the Netherlands have had their i7 yet, and only some i5's were deliverd (the biggest reseller in the Netherlands, iCentre, only had about 30 i5's for their 9 shops).

I know the Netherlands is just a small country, but I think Apple should not ignore the resellers over there, because they are the ones where new Mac users go and they are the ones who promote the products of Apple.

The only official Apple place to order your iMac in the Netherlands is the online Apple store, but their service is not half as good as most of the resellers, so thats not a way I want to go...

I think this is a really egoistic way to go of Apple and hope they start delivering to Dutch resellers soon, because a lot of customers are dissapointed and cancel their order. Not very good for the image of Apple in the Netherlands...

Glad I got that of my chest, sorry if my Englesh was really bad, haven't used Enlish for a while now, so it's getting a little rusty...

So, finally got tracking information. Was originally scheduled to arrive on the 22nd, then it was pushed forward to 21st. Just tracked the package on UPS and it is going to arrive tomorrow, almost a week ahead of schedule. I'm so happy, yet at the same time annoyed. I'm away for the next couple of days and it's looking unlikely that anyone is going to be in tomorrow to sign for it, I wish I had known earlier that it was being delivered so soon.

Does anyone know what will happen if no-one is in to accept delivery?

Does Apple UK give you the option to pre-sign for it?
