Does Apple UK give you the option to pre-sign for it?

...no!

UPS will only deliver to an address with a living, breathing human being inside. The box label clearly instructs it cannot be left without a signature, and the drivers generally won't leave with neighbours either.

Hmm... I find myself in quite the predicament. I wish I knew what time they were going to deliver, would make things much simpler.

Do you think pre-signing is a smart idea?

No, since the iMac is worth so much.

I think his best bet is to contact his local UPS distribution center and say he is going to be out of town when the iMac is scheduled to arrive and request them to hold it so it won't be returned to Apple.

That is like your order number. You need to open the invoice from the order status page, by clicking "print invoice," and then look for the serial number on the invoice, then post the first few digits of the serial number or just read it yourself.

I've managed to get hold of a family member and arranged for them to be in tomorrow morning. I've also managed to work out a way I can get home for around noon, so all bases are covered. Really excited now, I'm just hoping there's nothing wrong with it.

Hmmm..... that is confusing. Maybe yours got scanned for departure, but will be on the next flight out. Or yours is on flight 90 most likely and that is a glitch on FedEx's part.

And on another note, FedEx Flight 28 just arrived. Now lets see if I was on that flight. :)

Thanks. I'm praying its the latter:D

Are we mad to be anxiously awaiting our iMacs, if they'll almost certainly have the yellow tinge?

As long as it is slight like my 17" MBP, I won't care. I didn't know my 17" MBP had a slight yellow tinge until yesterday when I tested it. So obviously in the year and 8 months of having it, it didn't bother me.

But, if I get one of the nasty ones yeah I will be a bit irked. :p

Waiting the end of the travel.....Spain.....

My iMac got its international shipment release. Hopefully it will be on FedEx Flight 76 or Flight 90 to Memphis, TN.

I'm with quagmire. (Giggitygig)

So I'm not testing it with the special grey line screen of misery. If I see the yellow tinge during normal use I'll send it back - but I'm not spending days looking for it.

(I bet the damn thing won't even start-up now!) :p

Waiting the end of the travel.....Spain.....

I have the exact same details via UPS except the end destination for me is Manchester, UK. I was initially expecting delivery tomorrow but UPS now shows it has been reschedulled for the 17th - as long as I get it before the weekend and in 100% full working order I will be happy!

Im with you on that (except your last line), If I see no visible issues in relation to the yellow tinge I will be happy - its the other reported issues that I hope to avoid!

Ditto.

Work Christmas party tomorrow. Hoping it won't arrive tomorrow ;)

Very jealous you've got shipping info.
I'm guessing my i7 will turn up before Friday, as past BTO iMacs have taken about 3-4 working days irrespective of the advised date. In the past I had them delivered to work, but this is so big, I thought I'd get them to drop it at the house.

Exact same boat as me. Best of luck with yours, hopefully we won't have any problems although I'm not very confident.

Fingers crossed for both of us (and anyone else still waiting), having has issued with both my 1st Gen MacBook Air (4 replacements later) and the 24" iMac top spec from last gen (3 replacements then Apple refused to exchange anymore so sent it back under the 14 days) I don't have a lot of faith left in getting a 100% spot on machine tomorrow. Hope to be proved wrong!
