Fingers crossed for both of us (and anyone else still waiting), having has issued with both my 1st Gen MacBook Air (4 replacements later) and the 24" iMac top spec from last gen (3 replacements then Apple refused to exchange anymore so sent it back under the 14 days) I don't have a lot of faith left in getting a 100% spot on machine tomorrow. Hope to be proved wrong!

You have had SEVEN replacements with Apple? If this happened to me, I'd never do business with such a company!

I doubt many companies would relish doing business with such a customer!

Having said that, I've had two faulty i5s, and a replacement (i7) is on the way, so if that's faulty, I'll be getting up there too :)

Damn. Not on flight 76 or 90. So much for getting it tomorrow. :(

Ok, I think I am on FedEx flight 12 to Memphis, TN as it just changed to in transit and flight 12 is the only one that left within the time it says in transit. So I can still get it tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath.

Yup, first 2 Air's had a broken button on the touch pad (would slide about as if not attached properly), the third replacement had something wrong with the screen causing a grid like pattern to be clearly visible. The 4th and final one was/is spot on.

With the 24" iMac first had a faulty fan causing rumbling sound constantly, second had physical damage to the stand caused by I believe the power lead becoming dislodged from the package during transit though it could have also left the factory like that and the third dead pixels in the centre of the screen.

Finally my iMac is on the way and target arrival 17 Dec...... ;)

i got tracking number but DHL cant find it

Carrier Name:
DHL EXPRESS Tracking Number(s):

4:19 pm - that's when it left the fedex location - I am assuming that means it's on a plane but I could be wrong

You're probably on Flight 12.

But, I am now officially confused. At 4:29 Alaska time it said, " In Transit" so I assumed I was on Flight 12. But, now I noticed at 5:08 PM Alaska time it said departed fedex location which would coincide with Flight 28's departure time. So I do not know which flight I am on.

There is like 5-6 FedEx flights to Dulles that my iMac can be on and get to me tomorrow. I'll be mad if mine misses all 5-6 of them. :p

My i7 has arrived in Fedex's Oakland facility (a few miles from San Francisco delivery address) via Anchorage, tonight (the 15th). However my (estimated) delivery has been stated from the start as the 17th.
Does Fedex bring FORWARD delivery in some instances? I mean, do I need to be prepared to be available for a 16th delivery possibility?

Yes, most likely your new iMac will be there on Wednesday.

Very jealous you've got shipping info.
I'm guessing my i7 will turn up before Friday, as past BTO iMacs have taken about 3-4 working days irrespective of the advised date. In the past I had them delivered to work, but this is so big, I thought I'd get them to drop it at the house.

Well I was not expecting anything today but a UPS van turned up and the delivery guy knocked on the door with just two small items - the Repmote and Apple Care....no iMAC

Apparently it is stuck in Germany with an EXCEPTION...whatever that implies. Im not too worried as many other users that were expecting deliveries have experienced the same 'Exception' during the course of their deliveries.

What I have noticed is that the rescheduled delivery date of the 17th has dissapeared from the UPS info. I am expecting it to be delayed another day untill the 18th.

Im quite baffled as to why you dont have a carrier tracking number within your apple account to enable you to track items via UPS its pretty strange considering you recieved shipping confirmation before me. It may be worth calling apple to see if they have a reference for you. If it helps you identify it, the reference is 18 alpha numeric characters.

How disappointing :(

Usually I am marvelling at just how fast Apple get stuff to me. Its only been 18 months since I bought the last iMac, but I think the first info I had was when it was in the UK.
Anyway - thanks for the info, but there is nothing I can see that's useful on the shipping info page. I've even tried randomly stuffing the Apple Delivery Reference into a UPS web page on the off-chance I'll find out something. :p

I've had the same tracking as you up to now:

KOELN (COLOGNE), DE 16/12/2009 4:21 UPS INTERNAL ACTIVITY
WARSAW, PL 15/12/2009 21:13 DEPARTURE SCAN
INCHEON, KR 15/12/2009 11:19 DEPARTURE SCAN

.. etc.

Don't worry, your Mac's not in Germany - Any kind of admin/flight scheduling/customs/whatever is done from Cologne.

A bit of googling suggests that they're just really busy & couldn't get onto a flight out of Warsaw last night.

You will get a trackable UPS number (1Zxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) shortly before delivery. Right now it is un-trackable, no matter what you do.

My iMac is in Richmond VA and I am about an hour and a half from there - sched for delivery Dec 17th but it could show up today

Mine is at Dulles International Airport. Now get on a truck to my local facility and go out for delivery. :p

I have the same exception going on, previously i had a delivery date as of today. This unfortunately disappeared leaving me with no clue as to when it will arrive. For me it's very unfortunate since the people at the job are going sort of nuts because I keep changing my schedule with days/hours off...
and I want my iMac now ;)
It looks like i'll be receiving a week 48 though, I hope problemfree!

Well, mine arrived this morning (10.30am). I'm VERY pleased to be able to tell you that it is seemingly perfect. Hard drive seemed a little noisy the first time I switched it on, but been no louder than my MBP since then. Screen looks great, I haven't actually checked it properly, but it looks perfect to me so I'm not going to bother spoiling that illusion.

Looks like my iMac arrived in Memphis at 12:10PM EST...so it's looking like a Thursday delivery for me.

Unless it gets on a plane real quick.

(this is all through FlightAware, FedEx still says it just arrived in Alaska)
