Well, mine arrived this morning (10.30am). I'm VERY pleased to be able to tell you that it is seemingly perfect. Hard drive seemed a little noisy the first time I switched it on, but been no louder than my MBP since then. Screen looks great, I haven't actually checked it properly, but it looks perfect to me so I'm not going to bother spoiling that illusion.

Is it a week 50?

Good news - congrats. :D

Fingers crossed it stays that way.

You will get a trackable UPS number (1Zxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) shortly before delivery. Right now it is un-trackable, no matter what you do.

I know - but with everyone else posting details like their iMac is buying vodka in duty free at Anchorage or reading a newpaper waiting for its connection from Shanghai I'm feeling a little left out. :p

"Hey, what are you doing"

"Oh just tracking my iMac"

"Shouldn't you be working?"

"About that..."

HILARIOUS! I went through the same thing! Mine arrived 2 days ago and is under the Christmas Tree. So now I spend my time cruising these forums and staying up on everyone's situation.

Anybody from the UK feels like this! Apple's shipping to here is a bit...rubbish to say the least

SOB. Mine is at my local facility, but it refuses to get on a truck for delivery. Grrrr.....

EDIT: Finally! On truck for delivery. :D

Fantastic news - At least someone in Manchester recieved the iMac today. lol!

My second replacement arrived yesterday.

Yellow tint, horrific backlight bleed, flickering, high-pitched whining coming from the screen, 16 dead pixels in the iSight.

In other words, far worse than the first one, which Apple have yet to collect. Deciding that I would not go through the trouble of getting another replacement, I opted for a repair by an authorized shop called Mactivate.

I brought in the first one yesterday, and today they called me saying that the LCD will be replaced. They expect it to be ready to collect tomorrow.

Just thought I'd share my experience for anyone considering another replacement. :D

Mine is scheduled for delivery the 17th but on a truck out for delivery today - probably wont get it though as nobody is home and I wont be back until tomorrow night.

Nice work though - it was originally scheduled to ship on the 21st and arrive on the 24th!

Yay it arrived and typing on it now. It does have a slight yellow tinge, but it is no worse then my 17" MBP and can only see it when the screen is gray or white.

So far no flicker and no cracked glass( knocks on wood). The HD is a bit noisy when it seeks, but I can live with it unless it fails on me.

Was out for delivery...on December the 16th.
at the moment it experiences an Ups exception...

Mine has been "In transit" from Anchorage since 6:12 p.m. yesterday Anchorage time. What can this mean? Has it a case of wanderlust? Does Fedex have flights that stay in the air for 12 hrs? Are they planning to parachute it to me?

Depends where you life.... ;-)

At some point the UPS tracking page removed Scheduled Delivery Date information. Just says "Shipped To: TORONTO, ON, CA". They have 2 days to deliver it from LOUISVILLE, KY to Toronto, ON. I can't believe they don't provide detailed information for shipment to Canada! Is it too far and cold and wild for them to bother? ;-))

Did you guys call and complain if your iMac was late? What did you get as a "pain relief"? Apple care?

K

Just checked my iSight, it does have 4 dead pixels. Which is acceptable for me. As A) It's a crappy built in camera anyway B) I doubt my parents will ever use the iSight camera. It is also nice that MS gives me 3 licenses on Office 2008 so I can now install it on my MBP. :D

How do you check for dead pixels on the camera?
