got a call; my replacement is also delayed for an week....
Reason; backorder on some parts.

well i guess we can consider that some...kind of.....good news? can't we?

i mean they probably figure the problem out, and are replacing some parts.

May i dare to say the screen?

- Or maybe, just maybe, someone that doesn't know nothing and it was told to make that excuse. I feel like i'm in a soap opera

I hope so and I'd gladly wait if that's the case. If we get delayed and still get a machine with one of these issues... man am I going to be that much more disappointed and mad.

Mine was estimated to ship today (14th). Just logged in to check and, in the last hour or so, it's changed to estimated shipping date of the 28th. I expected as much after reading this thread. Not to worry, it'll get here when it gets here.

It's a lovely optimistic idea but it could just mean any of the components inventory has just run low and is simply on back-order.

Regarding the screen, as far as I know only LG make this size panel and haven't Apple signed a 5 year supply contract? I'm not convinced that the panel is faulty per se, rather there are contributory factors. I also don't think it's a faulty batch of panels as it seems people have had them replaced at a local level with no luck and one would assume these would be from a completely different supply chain / inventory to the ones being fitted in the China plant.

I'm still in the same boat as you. I even ordered on the same day.

Just had a look at the UK Apple Store.

All the 27" models show "Ships: 2 weeks".

Makes no difference how you customise them.

Looks like there is some serious delay affecting only the 27"ers.

:(

Same exact here. No changes on the website yet.

I already stated this in another thread, but Apple support is going to replace my iMac i5 with yellow tinge and dead/stuck iSight pixels. The expected shipping date is the 28th. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I ordered my i7 on 12/30, with an initial ship date of today and delivery by the 19th - still showing the same as of 15 minutes ago.

I just got off the phone with executive relations

They are the most useless of everyone I talked to

Their job is to deny deny deny and do nothing.

She basically said I have no information to all my questions.

Although she did say if there were a machine to ship out mine would be a priority.

All she would say is that there are no machines to ship you or they would.

So like I said the information is useless.

There is a delay but they will not tell you anything.

Good for you that you got your iMac early, but how does that even happen, when people that ordered custom configurations before you have yet to have theirs ship, and are even late. I know you said you are in Australia, but they all ship from the same place. Was yours a direct replacement or something?

Also, BTW, are you happy with it? Any Issues?

This was not a direct replacement, it's a new purchase.

I myself am quite surprised that the iMac has been shipped and delivered. I ordered it early January expecting it to arrive late January, as that is when I will be back in Malaysia. I personally haven't had the chance to use the iMac yet but I'm getting my sister to set it up today to check for defects.

Just got an e-mail update from Apple for my 27" i7 - delayed 7 business days:

Ordered 12/30
Original Ship 1/14
Original Delivered by 1/19

New Ship 1/25
New Deliver by 1/28-2/1

Along with my delayed shipping email, I also got an email selling me ways to accessorize my new iMac. Rub it in Apple.

I ordered my i7 on 12/29 and had an original ship date of 1/13. 1/13 came and went and no ship. On 1/14 I was sent an email saying my order was delayed 7 days, hours later I got a "Shipped" email and the machine left China on 1/15..any other similar experiences? wonder if it was parts as mine was a custom order
