Hey, just got a status update this morning. Prepared for shipment, ships Feb 11-Feb 16!!! WTF is that!? If it's ready for shipment, ship it already...2 weeks for prepare for shipment. If it ships when they say...6 freakin weeks!!! Come on already.
that sucks. you bought yours dec 30? i just ordered mine jan 24 and it's supposed to ship feb 16. I guess this delay may be because of apple trying to get their hardware together.
i know what is like, I had my order status like that for days, between 1/2 weeks to. it's freakin annoying. the best thing it's to give it a rest or else a guy goes crazy

i ordered mine jan. 4th (27" quad i7). it said it would ship on the 19th, but on the 20th we got an email basically saying oops - our bad, we'll let you know.
anyway, days went by and it said we'll get it on the 3rd (feb.). i called and asked why is this taking so long and they immediately refunded me $79.99, and promised they would "expedite it."
if you've been waiting a long time, call apple and you'll get 80 big ones back!!! and why is this taking so effing long!?!?!?!?! ahhh!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah i spoke to one of the reps and when i found that i was delayed he said that when it arrives and everything is in good working order ring back and claim for a free give/compensation.
If it arrives tomorrow it would be delayed 1 day, would i be so brazen? Apple care would be great (especialy as i was going to get it anyway)

I ordered my i5 in Jan 6th and I get it the feb 19th, you ordered on the 12th and get it on the 11th. I wonder why you get yours before I get mine.

Don't know quite really how it works but if the shipment is at the customs in germany, probably will be sent to different directions from there.

This is my first ever Mac - VERY disappointed with the way Apple has treated this situation. I can understand having production issues, and wanting to ship non-defective units, but they really need to step up to the plate and tell us what is going on.

I agree. This is completely unacceptable. We're now waiting a full month and a half to get a product with a substantial price tag. We've been delayed longer now than the actual originally quoted shipping time. Finally can we trust the ship date we received now? Maybe it will be pushed again. I'm tempted to just cancel and reorder in March when the Imacs get upgraded again, probably won't though. I share your frustration.
I'm gonna call Apple and tell them to throw in an iPad.
EDIT: They asked me if I want it in a separate box or the same one is fine....
