Let me share my thoughts on this. I ordered mine on Jan 6 and said will ship on Jan 21. Well Jan 21 came and went and on Jan 23 I got the "due to unforeseen circumstances e-mail" it won't ship until Feb 16 and get it on the 19th. So we'll see.

my status ordered on 4thJan (original deliver day 21JAN)

got push back twice

and here is my lastest info
Ships: 11/02/2010
Delivers: 17/02/2010

I'm in Hong Kong and how can that take 6 days to ship from Shanghai to HK??????

Mine just changed to Prepared for Shipment as well. I was excited at first, but now that its happening to everyone else as well, I don't know what to make of it.

It's to keep us from canceling. I got prepared for shipment last night, then my second delay email (2 weeks) this morning. I don't know what to think. This is a replacement for the iLemon from back in freakin November...I better have this thing next week, or it's going back due to being almost obsoleted by the next revision.

Hey guys,

I placed an order at my local authorized reseller on the 18th of January and was told that it should ship in three weeks. I ordered the 27' Quad-Core iMac i7 with no extra add-ons except for the i7 option. Will the computer ship in three weeks or will I need to wait longer? I sent an email to the reseller before ordering and they said it could take up to 8 weeks to come in from Singapore. I am in New Zealand btw. Are there any Aussies or kiwis here who have also ordered an iMac i7 and have already received their computers? Cheers!

I'm in New Zealand and my i7 was ordered by the reseller on January 6. There's no sign of it shipping as yet and they say they are still waiting on i7s they ordered in November.

I'm hopeful that once Apple has sorted out the quality issues they will clear up the backlog quickly. But there's no way of knowing that for sure, so I'm trying to keep expectations low in the hope of being pleasantly surprised. :)

Thanks mate. Just wanted to know because I can't check the order status or receive emails notifying me of delays because I ordered from a reseller and forgot to ask for the order number.

I just checked my order status online and it now says 'Prepared for Shipment'. This is really odd considering the delay e-mail I got earlier today. For those of you that have been down this road, is there light at the end of the tunnel (it really is being prepared for shipment), an error, or just a clever way to gray out the 'cancel item' button?

I just got a shipment notification e-mail from Apple with the tracking number - it should be here by mid-morning on 2/2. Hopefully others who ordered around the same time (12/30) will be getting similar e-mails from Apple soon.

Shipped!!

I am going nuts! FINALLY! My 01/14/10 order - I just got an email from Apple that my i7 shipped - I have the FEDEX tracking number. It says "Delivered by February 4" - which is one day later than the original email I got when I ordered (was supposed to be delivered February 3) but I'm very happy anyway.

So far, Fedex says: "Left FedEx origin facility SHANGHAI CN". I think I'm gonna be dysfunctional until Feb 4, just tracking the shipment 24/7 clicking on the tracking link every 3 minutes... they'll have to surgically detach the mouse from my hand by that time.

I CAN'T WAIT

... to become a member of the yellow club:eek::confused::eek:... hope NOT! Wish me luck!

Still I'm super stoked I didn't get the "delayed" email!

your very lucky

what week is your unit
week 4 or week 5

The apple support guy I spoke to said there were said there were supply issues with the processors, but those have been resolved and all the delayed units are shipping now.

That has to be the reason why they only had the i5 in stores, even through they knew most people would want the i7.

Where would I find that info? All I see is the order number W678XXXXX, the sales reference number 712XXXXXXX and FedEx tracking number... no other numbers, either on apple's site or fedex site .

when u log into your order status on apple website
u will see your ordered stuff .. on right hand side in a white box it will say view order details (top right of the blue box)

another page should load
in there it will give u a details about your order .. above that u should be able to see print my invoice .. if u click on that it will load your invoice page

in that page under order details usually you will see your serial number ... it will start with W8 or something depending on a factory it was made

so first two digits are factory 3rd is a year and 4th and 5th are week models
so for example

W800346T1XC

that would indicate it is a week 3 unit

hopefully your is like week 4 or 5, i dunno how apple calculates weeks

The boat of 12/30 is getting finally delivered!

OH HEM GEE! OMG!
Can this be true?
It sais Feb 3rd about 18 hours after it said Feb 16! Two notifications in a day! Way to go Apple! One bad news followed by one great news! I'm sold again!
Does it mean I can't get a free iPad no more??:(
They promised me an iPad with the camera..

Following these instructions, I got to the "Print all invoices" link, clicked it, but the only thing that popped up is an invoice for my AppleCare (that I bought at the same time) - and on that, there is no serial number, only a part number (for the AppleCare), invoice number and a customer number (and only the part number starts with a letter S). Maybe I'll get invoice for the i7 later?? I just checked my AmEx online, and they have not charged my card for the i7 as yet (but they did charge for the AppleCare a long time ago, a day after I ordered).

Anyhow, now that I know where to look, as soon as I get the invoice and serial number, I'll report here!

Might be getting my i7 today, fingers cross. I checked my details and I have a week 4 unit according to the serial number. My package progress from UPS is confusing, lets hope it arrives today.

tried to follow the steps but haven't seen the "view order details", only found "track this shipment".

Yeah I have Korea on the list too. Would it be that it left China to Korea then to Germany and then to Ireland or Portugal for yourself but the check in/out times are added after, like their next day. Do you get me? Very confusing. I wait in hope that the UPS truck pulls up here today.

Hi! I received a response email from my sales agent who gently told me that is better to call customer service and explain here the problem with the delay and if i can, keep him (the sales agent) informed.

So i called twice and 2 diferent agents told me 100% confidents that my new estimated shipping and receive dates are correct and i will have the product before february 18th. They assured that previus production problems are solved now and customers with delays are on a priority list to receive the iMacs.

I asked both for a compensation but they told me that i need to wait for the MAC to arrive and then call back to see if i get something.

I hope this is true...

During the night, i got a email that says my order has shipped!!!

Ordered : Jan 7
1st Ship : Jan 22
1sr Del. : Jan 29
-----
Dealy email then :
Ship : Feb 16
Deli. : Feb 23

But, yesterday the order status changed to Prepared for shipment and today, they shipped it !!

My guess is that they puted a very far ship date when they delayed it to make sure they won't have to delay it again and again...

It's on its way..

Good news, I hope. This morning I received a shipment notice for my i7 that I had ordered back on Jan. 5. Shipment had been slipped to Feb. 4 and then today on the 29th I got word it had been shipped and I have the tracking number. No invoice for it yet but I'm sure they'll eventually charge my amex card and I'll be able to see the invoice. In any case, it's supposed to arrive on Feb. 2 and I'm psyched.
