the first 2 are were its is made (W8) = Shanghai
The 3rd is the year (0) = 2010
And the 4th & 5th are the week (04) = week 4.

On the look out for this UPS truck, would be brilliant to have it for the weekend. Might give them a call to see if it is near!

W8004XXXXXX to :D

finally found the damn invoice.

That would be good, since there's no update on the UPS site

Info on UPS shipment, and a little applecare story:)

Yeah I have Korea on the list too. Would it be that it left China to Korea then to Germany and then to Ireland or Portugal for yourself but the check in/out times are added after, like their next day. Do you get me? Very confusing. I wait in hope that the UPS truck pulls up here today.

For all of you waiting for UPS delivery in Europe:

First your mac goes from shanghai to incheon in Korea.
They send the package details to cologne, for faster customs clearance. Then it goes from Incheon to Cologne, then - also by air - to the ups - airport facility nearest where you live.
Then it goes by truck to the Ups-land facility nearest where you live. Then it goes out for delivery.

Just so you know what to wait for:)

My replacement (i7 - 8 GB) is also prepared for shipment, first pushed back to the 8 feb. But it should go out from shanghai today or monday!

I dont know the serial, since its an applecare replacement for my 2007 24" 2,4GHz 1GB Ram iMac. First they offered me the 3,06, but i manageded to talk my way into the core i5.
Then that was delivered, but with no Airport card, so i ended up with this fantstic replacement for my old machine.
Oh, They also gave me the boxed version of Logic 9 as an extra appology.

Now THATS what i call Service:)

Best Wishes.

Say, does UPS has their own airplanes, or do they use commercial airplanes? Where i work i can see all the planes that arrive here at the city, i was thinking maybe i could identify them somehow :)

well, Milty77, i guess that's the way i'm going to. ohhhh poop!

Today I got an E-Mail that Apple has decided to split the order and send the other items first.... Now I will get the APP and a Remote the next days and the iMac hopefully von 18th of Februar. Damn

Woohoo!!!!

I too have received an unexpected email notifying me that my i7 has shipped. What a pleasant surprise! I had to read the email three times just to verify that it wasn't a dream. Once I saw that it was in transit I proceeded to run around the house shouting "wooo woohoo woooo!!!!" Scared the hell out of my wife, but what can I say, this is my 6th replacement and I'm looking forward to getting my iMac back.

Hopefully this batch will be problem free. I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah i think they do. At least for the overseas transports. Im not shure when it comes to the regional - say from Cologne to Lissbon.

You should be aware that they fly to an airport with a UPS terminal. Here in Copenhagen, Denmark, all macs are send to Malmö in sweeden (just across the water) and then freighted by truck to the Copenhagen UPS terminal, wich is not at the airport, but in an industrial area 15 kilometers outside Copenhagen

Is the process described above the same for the uk? Mine shipped yesterday, and the expected delivery date(subject to change) is the 11th. Two weeks seems like a long time, so I'm hoping it gets revised.

To weeks sounds crazy... If it was shipped with UPS i bet you will have it on monday or tuesday (unless u live very far up in the scottish Highlands) :)

OK, so now my invoice got posted, and I have the serial number. It's a week 5!

Are there reports on week 5 out yet? Still yellow and flickering? Unfortunately no update on the FedEx - still showing "Left FedEx Origin facility - SHANGHAI CN". Supposed delivery by February 4.

Verrrrry excited!

So you got all this stuff for free??? What the hell did they do to the 2007 24" iMac for them to "apologize" so much? I'm jealous!

i7 quad

i ordered mine on january 21st and it said 3 weeks for delivery. i called up and complained and they upgraded my shipping and gave me 100 off. i had the education discount so to my door i'm paying 2097.74 which seems like a heck of a deal since the i5 costs 2120 with tax in the store. i asked for a hard drive upgrade but they said it would take longer to get so i took the money. i'm expecting the mac on feb 13th but not holding my breath.

my delivery time is quoted as 2 days, maybe slightly longer as your not mainland uk, but i would think 3-4 days at most.

Mine has been shipped as well. will be here on Feb 3

The actual ship date was Feb 4 but they shipped my i7 1 week earlier. :)

Mine is week 5 W8005XXXX... from Shanghai CN

Should it be a problem-free one? This is my replacement. So I hope I dont have to send it back again.

Will report you guys once I got it.

Mine shipped today, wow what a surprise. I was supposed to get it on the 19th , But looks like it will be here on the 3rd.

It looks like it's a week5.

I think yours come with the same boat as mine.

Week 5 From Shanghai CN and deliver date is Feb 3. :D

However, I didnt see the $100 discount yet. :D

Did you check if they took the 100 off the price? I got free Apple care with mine.

FedEx site now showing estimated delivery as February 2, 10:40 A.M.

That's a day early than the original delivery estimate!

I cannot wait.... I'm re-checking the tracking like a tard!

The bad news is soon you won't be able to have your iMac replaced due to the yellow screen - new Apple policy per Gizmodo... I'm gonna make a post about this!

Well it had to go in two-three times for repair, due to screen problems. But, and this is the big but, they took several months to fix the machine the one time, and several weeks the next.

So this is because of two years of back and forward repairs.

Anyway, the guy at applecare i have been talking to, has been fanstastic in hepling me out. He reeeeally jump trough hoops to get me all this.

Good news, I hope. This morning I received a shipment notice for my i7 that I had ordered back on Jan. 5. Shipment had been slipped to Feb. 4 and then today on the 29th I got word it had been shipped and I have the tracking number. No invoice for it yet but I'm sure they'll eventually charge my amex card and I'll be able to see the invoice. In any case, it's supposed to arrive on Feb. 2 and I'm psyched.

Great!!! Same here, my i7 was shipped yesterday from a January 8th order and will be here on Monday. Exciting. :D
