I would like to see if the week 6 has a new screen.

Also if you can get the model of the screen.

It is under displays in system preferences, Open the LCD color profile and scroll down to mmod of the color profile.

I believe the screen's model is 00009CB5. I will post a photo of the screen later on when I get a chance.

Edit..

Made some pression today. Forced them to do a few phone calls.

I seems I should not expect to receive my iMac 27" i7 before the 22th of Feb. Precisely 1 month to the day I ordered it.

Grrrrrrr... Still stuck with my Atari 800 lol jk

Dude there is still something fishy going on. Ask them for your apple order number and call apple and find out about its status.

Awesome. Your screen is the best I have seen so far.

Seriously, mine is week 5 but have the yellow issue.

Just one week, how come could it be different this much?

Anyway, Can you post another one after having been using it for 2 hours.? I would like to see if It becomes more noticeable

Thanks

I don't see an yellow but the bottom is definitely a shade lighter

I did not load it into photoshop but the top is definitely darker than the bottom.

I don't see any yellow though.

Me too, I noticed that but I was happy to see one without yellow issue

Maybe If i get the new panel replacement, the problem should be gone.

I am so excited!! Looks like everything has been fixed. I don't see any yellowing. All I see is white. Mine is supposed to deliver tomorrow but fed ex hasn't updated anything. Guys please post the number of your machine with your week. Mine is week 6 and was 517th to be made. Check your serial number on this website:

My 27" Imac Quad i7 Shipped on 5th Feb - how long to reach the UK?

My estimated delivery date is 18th February, but I'm hoping it will be here much sooner?! There is no tracking info yet - however when logging in through the USA Apple Store I get the info that it's being shipped by Kuhne & Nagel, so I assume it hasn't reached the local courier yet.

Does anyone else in the UK have experience of how long it actually takes to be delivered from the shipping date?

Thanks!

p.s. my machine will be week 6, and number 1284 off the line that week :)

Ok I picked up my iMac this afternoon but I had some studying to do. I set everything up and the screen is the best I've had so far. It's a my 4th one. I'm currently installing programs on it, posting from my MBP.

Week 6 i7. I notice the bottom left rectangle is a different shade, but that's only in the photo.

judging on your photo. you have the yellow tint.

I can't see anything at all in that photo-- probably the best iMac screen I've seen actually.

The bottom bars look darker than the top bars, but cameras are cameras and will never be truly accurate when viewing high contrast objects.
Usually pictures with yellow tinge I can actually see the rough outline of the yellow beyond the boxes.

Correct.

Trust me, I have had several of these 27" iMacs WITH yellow tint. This one is not the case. The white is evenly throughout as I move a white finder window throughout the screen.

One can't trust everything when it comes to these cameras. I did use my dslr, but for all one knows the angle, white balance, exposure can throw it off.

Are you using an application called mini dock or is the screen really that huge? lol

I brought it into photoshop and the colors are identical. I think that's because it was a screen shot though and the yellow tinge doesn't show up in those. However MMM.PWR did have a very slight yellow tinge.

Screenshots won't show yellow tint. Mine was an actual photo, and while I do notice that the very top and the very bottom of the screen are not the exact same temperature, I do notice they are very evenly distributed, unlike previous screens I have had and seen where it's a corner or a third of a screen. This one seems to be more of a gradient from very cool to slightly warm. I did take it free hand and was a little dark so I brightened it up a bit in photoshop. Not sure if that had to do with it.

Seriously man, I wouldn't worry about it with a screen like this. Considering even the angle has an impact, would you notice it normally?

I'm very anal when it comes to this and even I cannot notice a difference that would bother me. I just took another picture with a completely white screen and I see no difference.

Also to those who are looking at pictures of these screens: the color balance setting on your camera WILL impact the way the screen's color temp looks.

I'm not one to settle for a defective product that's $2200.

All in all, yes, there are some bad screens out there. However, everyone who is on here is pretty much just LOOKING for imperfections after all these bad reviews. I know I didn't check my 40" Samsung 650 series for yellow tint when I bought it.. lol.
