Buzzing screens
Guys, to be honest I think this is something to do with the power needed to make such a large screen work. I have a 50" plamsa tv (not the same I know) but that does buzz a bit, and as you adjust the brightness the buzzing changes too. I have it set now and its not noticeable at all.
As previously mentioned here - if you need to put you ear to the iMac to hear a buzz - its a non issue - its probably impossible to remove all electrical buzz on a screen so big and bright as the 27" iMac.

Received mine today. No problems that I can see. If there's any yellow on my screen, it's not bad enough for me to notice. No noises, no flickering. It does seem to run hotter than the 24" iMac that it is replacing did, but I'm guessing that is to be expected and it is nothing that seems unusually high.
What number is your iMac from the assembly line of week 6? Mine is 517. It's in anchorage right now.
I hear a slight buzz / humming when I lower the brightness. I have to get real close to hear it. Since my room is never really quite I am not that worried about it.

Thanks for your update Joey, I'm not worried about it either - it seems to be a common non issue.
rather the buzz then the high pitch noise. i just can't stand those hich pitch noises. My actual monitor an LG (

I had ordered my i7 on the 1st of Feb-- finally started shipping. It has an estimated delivery date of the 15th.
I have the 1107th unit built in week 7.
One important thing of note: the serial number decoder thing labels this screen as a TFT LED backlit, and not IPS. Is this any different from other people's iMacs before? Maybe apple changed the IPS panels to TFT because they acknowledged the problem was the IPS technology that LG implemented?

Your confused bro, it is a TFT LCD IPS panel. TFT just refers to "thin film transistor" which is just a variant of LCD display. TFT just refers to the type of LCD panel.
Which TFT's are the most prevalent LCD's in production.There are variants of TFT Displays with IPS being the best of the lot.

My i7 also shipped today... 1141th in week 7. Let's see if the screen is any better...
My iMac has been stuck in Alaska for the past 24 hours. I don't it has said in transit for the past 24 hours. I don't know if i will get it tomorrow?????

So it's at my local Fedex Facility. I don't know when it's going to go out for delivery but is there a way I can go and pick it up even before they try and deliver???
It is out for delivery. I am so excited!!!!. Can't wait!!!! I have everything set up and the 4 extra gb of ram ready to install. Will tell you know about the screen and buzzing as soon as i get it!!! Once again it is a week 6 517th i7!!!!
Mine's on the truck too. As soon as I get the email that it's been delivered I'm going to get a case of "I have to go home sick". Plus it's a 4 day weekend (furlough + holiday) so I'll have plenty of time for the new toy.

My iMac is currently sitting in the UK distribution centre, which I suppose is in Hinkley. Still says my delivery date is 18th February, pretty sure it won't take a week to get across the Irish sea. But the weather could be out to get me.

I'm hoping i won't have to tell anyone about screen problems or buzzing, but knowing my luck it'll have the worst of both. Apple's first Sepia iBuzzmac is on it's way.
