The guy offered it to me without me asking. I would call again, if they don't offer just say that you have seen that Apple has been upgrading the shipping on the quad core imacs for free and you would like the same.
Not cool... I got mine at 2am on 10/20/09. Perhaps since I customized mine so much it will take another day or two? Either way, I'm glad I just called and got free 2-day shipping. Maybe I can get it in time for my birthday in a few days!

Yeah, I literally just got off the phone like 20min ago. I just asked for my "order status" and asked if there was any expected shipping date because I had ordered it awhile ago and haven't heard any updates... bla bla bla...
She said all she could say is that it still says "november" for my ship date, but that she could expedite the shipping process for me... put on hold for a minute or so, then got 2-day shipping (she said 1-day shipping wasn't available to my area or something). Pretty sweet! Good luck...
yeah... BTO i5's will probably take longer. At least the Apple rep said they are shipping directly from the manufacturer (no stop in Cali) for those that care...

I got the basic i5 quad core... it comes with the 512 video card as stock. The one that lists for 1999 (2099).
I will but waiting for them to update the free software to PS Elements 8.
Well, I do not care for the bundled software, I anyway use Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 2.5. I just bought the Bamboo Pen and Touch (not the medium "fun" version in white). I hope I do not regret it. I never used one of those tablets but I hope it will make my life a lot easier.

Hmm, you should see yours soon then. I did order mine through an Employee Purchase Program so maybe they are fulfilling those stock orders first. I honestly hope that
doesn't give preference by associated company as I am firm believer in first come-first served but if you do not get yours shipped by end of day, I would have to infer that as I ordered mine on 10/26.

I knew as soon as I bought the C2D model (on Friday) the i5s would start shipping. (Same thing happened when I bought the 24" model - 4 days later the 27" was announced).

Guys look at the location of the people reporting the order numbers.
It'n not like Apples ordernumbers start at 1, 2, 3,4 and so on. My ordernumber starts with W913 I ordered the i7 on the 23rd so according to your logic we should be counting down?
Looking over my order history all my orders have started with W9 - My guess is that it is a code for EU (perhaps northern EU)
So please stop quoting order numbers as they shed absolutely no light on delivery.

I ordered within an hour after release, and have order #W65325XXX it is a stock i5. That puts me approx 3000 orders behind, the quoted shipped ones. How many iMacs fit on a plane? My guess is about 3000, maybe fewer.
How many shipments per day is Apple going to send out? My guess would be 3 to 5. If the people that have recieved confirmed shipping could provide more detailed info about order numbers, perhaps we could deduce a "schedule" of projected arrival times.
