"We are pleased to send you this dispatch regarding your Apple Store order"
Like a couple of you guys just posted, I also have just received an 'order shipped' e-mail from Apple (just over 1 hour ago)!
Apparently the iMac should arrive on or before 09.02.2010 ("09 Feb 2010 (Subject to change)"), and the tracking status says "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.".
This is for an order that was placed on 30th december 2009, see earlier post, https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/9143831/ for details on dates.
This has also come 1 day after I first called customer services to complain ( see previous post in this thread
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/9144069/ for details ) and I was then apparently put on a
priority list to speed things up - so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. For the other people who have also received shipping e-mails recently, were your orders put on 'priority' too by any chance? When did you place your orders?
I'm just now a little doubtful about receiving a fault-free machine. I mean, why would they send me an e-mail with a further
dispatch delay of 2 weeks (after initial 7 day delay), and then the following day all of a sudden dispatch it? I feel as though they
may have even just shipped one that they know is faulty/affected (yellow-tint screen issue) just to keep me quiet/happy for a bit - but heh, will just have to wait and see.
Also, I read other people saying that once it has been dispatched you can find out the build week from the serial number of the machine, but I'm not sure where/when I can find this serial number, would this be shown on the invoice (which I am yet to receive)? The order status / tracking section displays a few different numbers/references but the only one I can see starting with 'W' is the order number which I believe is unrelated (even though it looks very similar to the machine serial numbers).
