Well, i got my Imac I7 9 days after i ordered it. BUT, it had the screen flicker issue. So they had me send it back today and ordered me a new one. Once i got the order number and saw the ship date was Feb 17th I called and talked to the rep that was handling my case. He told me that due to the seriousness of the issues that have been occurring with the 27" Imac's, they have STOPPED shipping them until the issue is resolved. He said he was told that they would start shipping again in 3-4 weeks. He then proceeded to offer me a full refund. I accepted and will wait for the next generation.

that is very strange
as i spoke with a rep today to ask why my order has not been shipped water the delayed emails estimated time witch was to be yesterday jan 25th and she told me they are not enough of them to go around and my unit will be shipped tomorrow jan 27th and i should have it by feb 3rd

she never said i would have to wait 3-4 weeks

i however did order mine on Dec 30th

I have one scheduled to ship Feb 2nd. Still no word on delay. Maybe it's easier to get them over from Shanghai here in Singapore? I'll be in Shanghai this next week... wish I could just pick it up on my own...

Kinda glad to hear that, in the sense that they have stopped shipping faulty products.

Since I just ordered mine on Jan 22 I can hope it will be a "problem free" computer. Sucks however for the 3 to 4 weeks waiting time.

Half a day has gone by, there's no changes in the status, altought i thought they maybe shipped it sooner...no luck there. Now to wait for tomorrow, and see what the day brings.

I got my second delay e-mail sometime during the night. My i5 replacement was to be delivered between today and Friday. This long wait began on Dec 29 and Apple receiving my RMA on Dec 31. Now, I have an estimated shipping date of Feb 10 with delivery by Feb 15. I am so very disappointed. I'm to the point of considering a refund. Only problem with doing that is I really loved that iMac. When it was working properly, which was most of the time, it was the best computer I've ever had (first Mac.):(

3-4 weeks from when though?

According to the person that called me regarding the additional shipping delay on my iMac, it will be 3-4 weeks from yesterday. That doesn't mean anything though. They could always extend the delay by another 3-4 or 52 weeks, which I'm pretty much banking on at this point.

OHHH YEAH!!!!!!

:D:D

Got minutes ago the sweetest email.

"Your order has been shipped"

they estimate that will arrive until the 4th Fev.

The worse is over, now its waiting (again) but for the i5 to come home :p

Hey hey, congratulations! Still haven't heard anything on my end but I'm keeping the hope. Let us know how everything is once you get it.

Got my notification at 3.30pm Irish time that my i7 has been shipped. Estimated delivery not till next week 3rd. A week late but at least its on the way. Can wait

"We are pleased to send you this dispatch regarding your Apple Store order"

Like a couple of you guys just posted, I also have just received an 'order shipped' e-mail from Apple (just over 1 hour ago)!

Apparently the iMac should arrive on or before 09.02.2010 ("09 Feb 2010 (Subject to change)"), and the tracking status says "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.".

This is for an order that was placed on 30th december 2009, see earlier post, https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/9143831/ for details on dates.

This has also come 1 day after I first called customer services to complain ( see previous post in this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/9144069/ for details ) and I was then apparently put on a priority list to speed things up - so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. For the other people who have also received shipping e-mails recently, were your orders put on 'priority' too by any chance? When did you place your orders?

I'm just now a little doubtful about receiving a fault-free machine. I mean, why would they send me an e-mail with a further dispatch delay of 2 weeks (after initial 7 day delay), and then the following day all of a sudden dispatch it? I feel as though they may have even just shipped one that they know is faulty/affected (yellow-tint screen issue) just to keep me quiet/happy for a bit - but heh, will just have to wait and see.

Also, I read other people saying that once it has been dispatched you can find out the build week from the serial number of the machine, but I'm not sure where/when I can find this serial number, would this be shown on the invoice (which I am yet to receive)? The order status / tracking section displays a few different numbers/references but the only one I can see starting with 'W' is the order number which I believe is unrelated (even though it looks very similar to the machine serial numbers).

My purchase date was December 30th too and I've been refreshing my mail on an obsessive compulsive level today.

you and me both my friend

outs was ordered on a same date and it has yet to leave apple factory
damn iMac ... if i really didn't need one and want one i wouldn't care so much :)

any news so far? did u have recieved the first delay email?

Still nothing. Yeah mine originally was supposed to be shipped the 14th and got pushed back "7 business days". Today is the 7th business day. I believe it was just like yours Yakuza, except I'm in the states. We'll see.

damn, that's a shame! hope the things work out good for u man, really am,

supposedly your's would be quicker than mine. perhaps they still will be sending you a shipping email

My iMac i7 shipment got delayed from Jan 25th to Feb 9th. I phoned Apple today and they gave me a $200 credit to spend on their own website. That was more than I expected to compensate me on my troubles. :)

I also ordered on 12/30 - still showing "ships 7 business days - delivers Jan 28-Feb 1" on my end - this is my first ever Mac - VERY frustrating and disappointed with the lack of communication coming from Apple. I called last Friday and was told that it would be going to 'prepared for shipment' status over the weekend - well, here it is Wednesday, and nothing has changed.

Same. Ordered iMac i7/1TB/4GB on Dec. 30th. Original ship date Jan 14th, delayed 7 business days, with supposed delivery Jan 28-Feb 1. Still shows Not shipped yet as status.

So I guess I'll have it tomorrow, or Monday at the latest right Apple, because you wouldn't delay and then delay again? Would you? Maybe they would...sigh.

I'm getting p-oed.
