Waiting for Quad Core 27" iMac - Australia

Hi all!

My first post on this forum.

I have ordered mine yesterday via Next Byte. They have a few iMacs pre-ordered. I am going for i5.

Lets see how long it will take.

I have heard that Next Byte placed an order with Apple soonish after the announcement date, so hopefully I will enjoy an iMac quite soon.

I ordered my i7 on the 3rdt of Nov from a reseller in Sydney.
They do have quite a few on order.
Could be this week.........I hope.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine on October 27 and it stills says 'Shipping November'. And it was just a stock 27 i5.

I ordered on the 27th Oct, i7, 2.8ghz, 8gb RAM, 2tb Hard Drive, will be here 2moz.

Hopefully none of these develop the flickering issue seen in the Core 2's.

Mine is in Pudong International Airport (well, it arrived there yesterday).

Funny thing with the TNT consignment note is that the same note has another delivery on it from July 2009 that ended up in London - bizzarre. The reference number however is correct and shows my order.

Due date is 20th of November, but I don't see it getting here till the Monday/Tuesday of next week (customs!).

Sounds like yours is on the same flight as mine and blackie36's.
They've been sitting in Pudong Airport for 3 days, but they'll have to move soon if they're going to be here by Friday.

I have exactly the same with mine! There is another delivery that went to Croydon that shows up when I go to my tracking page.

Anyway, I ordered on 10 Nov. Stock i7 with 1TB and 4GB. Mine went to "Prepared to Ship" yesterday, then Last night went to "Shipped". ETA supposedly 20 November. Hoping customs doesn't hold it up!

Australia always seems to be an Apple backwater, we only seem to get stuff well after everyone else. In the States people who ordered around the 6 / 7 of November are not only having them shipped already, but seem to have received them. So much for sending them in date order.

Maybe they are reading my thread, and are waiting for a better root offer?

Mine was ordered on the 10th of November, but I was upgraded from the i5 to i7 - that order was placed 7th of November. Order was W5755xxxx after cancelling W5754xxxx.

Yeah, I agree. I'd be mad if people who ordered over a week after me were getting theirs before me! I'd call them up and see what the story is. Not angrily, mind you (always puts people offside) but maybe hint (strongly) that maybe it would make you feel a little better about the situation if they threw in a freebie.... like extra RAM or something...

I ordered a stock-standard i7. No extra RAM. 1TB HDD. No extras of any kind. (Except for the AppleCare plan, but I'm sure that wouldn't make a difference!).

Yeah I just called them, said they couldn't tell me. I voiced my anger (nicely) over the fact others have ordered after me, but their gear was already shipping. He said he would check his system and email me. We will see....
