Good stuff. Hopefully we'll be comparing notes on 2 good 27" 's on Monday! I think if it is just the yellow tinge problem again (and not that bad), that I will hold onto it and just get it repaired once that issue is well and truly resolved. However I'd prefer not to be in that position

It has arrived my i7 ordered on th 28.10 through jb came in today and is now on my desk gotta work out how to use it but no problems although had a 46 sec boot up compared to my laptop this is no problem

I just rang DJ's and mine isn't there yet. They are expecting the next warehouse delivery Tuesday but if its coming via courier it could be anytime. Funnily enough the guy i spoke to was well rehearsed in the "there is a world wide shortage of quad core imacs and you probably wont receive it until late January". After explaining that i can see online that it shipped from apple a while ago, he agreed it could be anytime now and ill get a call when it hits the store.

Only a couple of more sleeps now!

Cool. Its a pity that the eagle shipping thing doesnt update so i cant see where its at... But i have a funny feeling its getting pretty close now. DJ's didnt call back today - i heard the shopping centre was packed so they wouldnt have time to do much... Apparently security were turning people away from the carparks!! I hope its not too packed when i get "The Call"... It woul dbe pretty frustrating not being able to find a park, or to have to park along way from the shopping centre and have to lug it about...

What a great computer. Slowly learning the OS. but everything is quiet and works so smoothly. I am converting avi files installing software and making a skype call all at the same time with absolutely no lag

Awesome! I can't wait! Hopefully i get the call today, but more than likely tomorrow if it is coming from DJ's stock transfer system as they deliver Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I have a pile of videos and photos to go through and some mayhem to create in some games, It will be nice to have a computer which can do more than one thing at a time for once!

Replacement iMac i7 arrived this morning. First one had a few dead pixels, 2nd one also has a stuck pixel (which I was willing to live with) BUT also has the deal breaker....screen flickering/blacking out!!

This is a week 51 iMac so CLEARLY they have not fixed the flickering issue...

I'm about to call Apple now and decide on my options...refund or YET another exchange...

Should hopefully be here anytime. I'll post on issues (or hopefully lack there of!) once I've received. By the way, did yours have any yellow tinge? Also, was the flickering apparent pretty much straight away

Unlike my previous one, this one doesn't seem to have a significant yellow tinge, well not very evident anyway.

The screen flickering was obvious within the first hour, even blacked out half a dozen times for a fraction of a second at a time.

Now however after a restart the flickering seems to have gone. I'm not optimistic that it has gone forever though. Given it displayed the problem out of the box and from the experience of others it seems it comes and goes....with some it only started flickering a week after they got it.

For such an amazingly common issue that has even been reported in the media, Apple surely seemed to play a deaf ear when I spoke to them today. The guy seemed to suggest he has never heard of the problem..

Now I don't know what to do...sit on it in the hope it is gone (and live with the stuck pixel) only to discover in a week the problem is back and by then I'm outside the 10 day return window OR call them again and get them to refund me the purchase and I'll wait till the next revision. Not sure getting a 3rd machine is worth it..

Got my replacement and still has a yellow tinge, but other than a couple of isight bright pixels it doesn't seem to have any other issues. So I think I'll hold onto this one and just get it repaired once they know the cause of the yellow tinge.

just following this thread.... FYI, i ordered my Imac I7 CTO on Oct 24 from JB Hi Fi Chadstone (Victoria), and finally picked it up last friday... Thought i would thoroughly test it before announcing that i actually have one... anyways just thought i let you know that you guys who have been waiting for awhile like me will likely get yours soon.

Just got off the phone to Myers, Adelaide and pleased to say my QC i7 is coming into the store today. Waiting for them to phone me to say its arrived.
Hopefully Dronus also gets similar news from DJs.

Mate I am sure it will be all good. I haven't had any flicker issues with either of mine. Sure you can hear the hard drive a bit, but this thing is so quiet compared to my blower heater (Quad G5) I had previously, a little hard drive rattle is nothing. Anyway I usually have music cranking or a movie playing, and can't hear it. It is only when it is dead quiet i can hear it.

As for the yellow tinge, i personally think this is a viewing angle problem. mine sort of does across the bottom, but if I lower my head to look at this head on, it goes away, for me anyway, others may have a different issue.

Turn it on an enjoy. I am in love with mine, just don't tell the missus.

Yeah i spoke with Apple this morning and my i5 is in Sydney. It was waiting for TNT to pick it up. The lady said it will be picked up today and will be delivered to the store before Xmas. I just hope that it makes it there tommorow or early enough on Thursday for me to get down there to pick it up. When the remote shipped it was pretty much over night, so assuming TNT pick it up in time it *might* be ready for pick up tommorow.

Mate, I have agonised with you every step of the way. I got myself a copy of COD 4 today, so I am going to be ready to frag your ass over Christmas. Bought it online from Streetwise, not a bad price, and overnight delivery. Not a bad service.
