Mine is shipped and in on the way to Sheffield from Nuneaton. Been on the road for 40 minutes so traffic willing it'll get to the Sheffield depot in 50 minutes time. Not that it makes a difference to me because they will deliver it tomorrow anyway but it'll be good to see it safe and sound in the Sheffield depot before i go to bed.

Tomorrow you are mine.

I'm using this TNT tracker widget.

I've got 2 sticks of 512MB. Are there only two slots available in the MacBooks?
Lady in store says these new ones can now go up to 4GB, I'll eventually go up to 2GB, does that mean 2x1 and have to ditch the 512s?
There are two slots in the MaBook already filled with 512 MB. (1 GB total)

So my macbook, is prepared for shipping so I am guessing that means it will go out tomorrow. On expedited its supposed to take 2-3 days, for the most part have people out there been receiving them in 2 days or 3? Just wondering cause I hope it arrives before the weekend.

my blackbooks on its way...

just one question...
this is my first laptop that isnt second hand.
do i need to charge the batteries for 24 hours like mobile phones? or can i jump straight in.

thanks guys,

Hamish

Just saw that it is now in Northampton which by anyones reckoning from Nuneaton is the wrong way. Perhaps it won't come tomorrow then. Oh well. the day after is fine.

It is advised that you fully charge the battery before using the computer on battery power. As long as you keep it plugged in, there's nothing to stop you using the computer when you first get it. It will just take a bit longer to fully charge.

Interesting. Mine was shipped with UPS, which is the first such delivery I've had from Apple shipped in this manner (it's always been TNT in the past).

Mine is out for delivery this morning, so tonight I'll get my hands on my first Intel Mac.

I got woken up by the postman and was really excited but it was only a teaser, my case has arrived.

Mine is out for delivery too so i'm staying in until it gets here, i will even postpone my shower. It left Rotherham at 6.40 this morning but I am assuming it is in a middle sized lorry like they always are in Sheffield so it could be any time today . I've had deliveries at 4.00 p.m. hopes it comes before then.

My replacement is out on a TNT truck somewhere too. Not sure where the nearest TNT depot is to Pontefract, but it can't be far away. I too am staying put until it is here. :)

I got mine two days ago from the Apple Store in Toronto. I am loving it... running Logic Pro 8 with no problems at all, Leapord is pretty nice too .. I can see "Spaces" comming in very handy.

It is here, my first post on MR with my new MB.

Plus the charge time on it was less then an hour.. and trust me you will be spending more then an hour with it when you get it.

This is my first ever portable post to macrumors. got it registered on the Uni network.

Copied over all my apps and stuff via firewire which didn't take too long (1 hour) to have my whole computer fully set up with all my documents brilliant. Try doing that on Windows.

Anyway now to actually do some work on this thing, the reason why i bought the thing.

The keys can come off BTW but they are held on with a different mechanism to the tutorials posted about the old MBs. Only took one off, will do the full switch around when i can find a small screw driver rather than using my fat fingers.

I ordered the mid range model on November 1st and it hasn't made it here yet. I called the shipping company apple used for my package and they told me apple didn't even put my full shipping address on the package. They only put my name, door number to my apartment complex, and my postal code... Apple had all of my information down correctly when I ordered it, so I don't know how they managed to screw it up so badly. I should have just ordered it online instead of using their 1-800-My-Apple phone ordering service. I think I put too much faith in the human race that day.

It's due to arrive at the depot on Friday but because of apples mistake it is going to add another business day to the shipping time which means I won't get it until Monday.

I'm kind of disappointed with the service I've received but I'm still looking forward to trying out my new machine when it arrives.

I ordered the mid range one with a 250GB hard drive of 11/5. Looks like it shipped today (11/7) but it's still in China. Got the 2-3 day shipping so I'm hoping it will get here by Friday.

Mine was shipped from somewhere in the US, and through Toronto. Now it's "on the ground somewhere between Toronto and BC", according to the Purolator. I've no idea why Apple use Purolator, but oh well... guess it's Canadian shipping. :S And yes, they use ground shipping, which takes 5 business days from the east. I won't receive it until Friday, hopefully that IS the fact. Good luck on yours =)

I order my white Mid range MacBook yesterday. It is my first Mac ever and I can't wait to get it on my hands. The apple web site say that it will be ready for delivery on the 12th of November and that it will arrive home at the 21-22th of November. I am wondering where it is coming from as 1 and a half week shipping is quite some time.

Also I would like to ask you guys that have already received the new MB how you find the new screen (some other posts in the forum say that is not that good), and the battery life.

Finally when I switch to the MB will I be able to copy all my files from my current NTFS (windows) hard drive or the Mac OS can see windows partitions. In that case what is my solution?

Sorry for my long post. Did I forgot to say how exited I am about my new MB :)

Ordered mine monday 5th, the packages are already (7th) in finland but unfortunately i wasn't home when they (TNT) attempted an delivery. So.. i changed the delivery address to my work (about 2km away) and... i'm still waiting for the packages! .. two extra days!
