:D

Its going to last me at least 5 years... so i splashed out ... just a little !!!:D

Coconut battery reports that my machine is 5 weeks old. It already had 4 charge cycles when i received it which i thought was a bit odd.

Gah, too late to check but I was pleasantly surprised that the battery was already charged when I took the machine out of the box and it could be used without any special procedures. I was expecting the instructions to say;
"Congratulations on your new Mac, now stick it on charge and don't touch your new toy for 24 hours!"

I read in another topic that coconutBattery isn't fully compatible with Leopard. Maybe that's why they are showing a couple of cycles done already.

Visited the Apple Store today and what first struck me was the iMac! They are gigantic  But after the ride home i've decided on a MacBook. The portability vs. screen size is completely worth it. Loved the keyboards (but didn't notice the "m" key. I'm gonna wait until Black Friday to see what Apple has them going for.

America's Army runs and looks great on normal settings Though the medical training mission always seems to crash the game.

I'm installing Half Life 2 now.

Looking forward to seeing your results. I don't understand why people experiences with BF2 and CS:S vary so much on the macbooks.

Some people with the old ones claim it can run CS:S at 30 fps, some say it's unplayable. Plenty say that they can't even open the program.

Well Half Life 2 runs just fine at 1280 x 800 at medium to high settings.

I could install CS:S and run the benchmark in it. The GMA X3100 runs 2003/2004 games just fine and the majority of mine are around that time.

The hardware shaders are a BIG improvement over the GMA 950.

When reading that people tracked their delivery I'm asking myself which site you are using. I got 2 different tracking numbers. the one with 80 in the beginning was written in the email. when logging in my account on apple.com I get a TNT reference number. But none of this two is giving me any information (neither the tnt homepage nor the kühne&nagel tracking page with the ape).
Is it normal, that 2 days after the delivery no tracking info is shown on any page? Or do I just use the wrong sites? (Order is made in the germany store and germany is also the destination. Delivery started 9th and the store says it should be here bei 14th or 15th by the latest)
anybody who can help?

Ordered mina exactly a week ago. Apple says it was shipped away on wednesday but TNT says the got it on thursday. Now four days later it's still in f**king shanghai!!! (Or atleast according to TNT...)

Was that tested on Windows XP or Vista? and what drivers?

I'm also still waiting on my SR MacBook, ETA 13-14th November.

There is however still no tracking option available on my account page.

I used slipstreamed an XP Pro disc with Service Pack 2 and all the security updates up to this month.

I'm using the 14.31.1 from here.

I was surprised that I got Company of Heroes to run as well as it did. Intel needs to update the drivers for a little more power.

I did read that the Windows XP drivers for the X3100 are currently the best performing ones.

Any chance of a 3DMark 06 benchmark?

Also is there not newer Beta drivers than win2k_xp14311.exe? it is dated 9/4/2007.

3DMark06 - 297
3DMark03 - 1820

From 3DMark03
Fill Rate (Single Texture) - 594.5 MT/s
Fill Rate (Multi Texture) - 1155.4 MT/s

Got mine and loving it! I'm feeling some migration pain from pc, but overall I'm getting it... I need helps from the forum, but guess the searching engine is down for a while??? No matter what I searched, it always returned "no result"...

Taking into account that a GeForce Go 6800 gives around 8400 in 3DMark03... You should feel a bit better :).
Anyways, games from 2 or more years ago dropped quite substantially in price (10€ instead of 40..60) :D

hello people, forum newbie here!

I just ordered my new MacBook a week ago today; 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD.

The system finally shipped on Friday evening at around 8pmGMT, and I was wondering what the usual delivery schedule is to the UK. I assume that my package is coming from China.

According to the link from MyAccount on the Apple Store, (applestore.bridge-point.com) Shipment Status:

Current Delivery Status:
In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule

Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly

Do the search from one of the forums pages ("search forums"), not from Page 1. (The "search site" doesn't actually appear to search the whole site.)

more RAM really helps

Just got my new blackbook and it is a really nice machine. I've bumped the ram to 4Gb and that seems to make a big difference. I use Adobe Lightroom a lot and it runs great on this setup.

I'm in Norway and I've ordered an exactly the same MacBook as you on November 6th. it shipped on November 10th. now it gets interesting.

Order information page on Apple Store says that the expected delivery date is December 4th. there's a link there to the tracking page (Shipment Status at applestore.bridge-point.com), and there it says that the Estimated Delivery Date is 24 Nov 2007 (Subject to change), Current Delivery Status - In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule. and my Shipment Notification email says November 23rd.

to clear things up I've called the Apple Store and they told me that it should be delivered no later than Nov. 23rd. so the estimate you are given in your Shipment Notification email is correct. I was also told that the Carrier Tracking Number will be updated 3-5 days prior to delivery. also, the rep I spoke with said that they have the latest information in their database, so if you want to stay 100% up to date, call them.

as a side note, all European orders are shipped from China to Netherlands, then to your country's capital, and then dispatched to your city of residence.

if you want to see where abouts it is and the route it has taken you can use http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/

I have used that on al my orders that came from China
