so, I am brand new to Macs. I've unfortunately been stuck with Windows for years, but I am FINALLY taking the plunge and getting a Macbook (Black). I am SO excited! I've been watching the video on the Apple site about Leopard over and over, and it just makes me want to pee myself!
I am going to be buying mine this Sunday morning, from Best Buy, so I can earn double Reward Zone points and a $30 gift card for my first purchase on my Reward Zone master card. SO excited! Not only am I getting an awesome machine, I am getting free money to buy accessories for it!

Would someone care to post some pictures of it? I'm mainly interested in the display, since I had to return my previous MB due to backlight bleeding at the bottom of the display. How are your screens?
While looking at a lot of MB screens, comparing them to mine, I noticed that Core Duo MB:s have better screens than C2D MB:s, better viewing angles and no backlight bleeding as far as I could see.

God tomorrow can't come quick enough i really can't wait for my Macbook tomorrow only problem my parents are going out 40 mins before il be back from school so i just hope they deliver before or after or il have to wait till monday, and atm i doubt i can bare it i really just want my Macbook now.

Reading these posts are making me laugh at myself for refreshing the order status waiting for a change (sadly TNT isn't showing anything at all).
Ordered my 'taxbook' on 28th Oct with an iPod touch (making the most of the educational promo in the UK) and being reward for jumping the gun ahead of the macbook refresh with nice upgrade to the SR version as the touch has been out stock for so long.
So thanks Apple for the "we only deliver once everything is in stock" line but damn hurry up already!

Ok lol i just got my macbook even after phoning tnt and they said it never left lol at last it's so nice.
I ordered on Nov 5th too, added 2GB and 160GB hdd. Did you have any other accessories? I.e. iPod or Case or DVI adaptor?

THIS I know all about....what sucks is that I am calling in my payment to the store, and have to wait until SUNDAY to pick it up, because I don't have the time to get it before then.
I am buying mine from a Best Buy (so I could earn double Reward Zone points), and I had to HUNT all over town because most of the stores carried the 2.16 GHz MB's, and I REFUSE to pay all that money for an outdated version. LOL So, today I call in and make payment, and then comes the AGONIZING two-day wait until I can go and pick it up. I'm dyin' over here!

The display on mine is fine. I have zero backlight bleeding. I calibrated the screen with the built in utility and it really came to life. I might play with supercal and see if I can improve it further.

my Estimated Delivery Date changed from 24th to 23rd in the mornig today and from 23rd to 16th (which will become 17th in 20 minutes) just now. I've also been assigned a carrier (KUEHNE & NAGEL) and a carrier tracking number, but when I try to use it on http://www.kn-portal.com/ it doesn't find anything.

No idea, mine has done the same, was estimated 22nd to 21st now suddenly its at the UK Distro Centre and on track for .... yesterday!
Tracking numbers are giving me anything on any courier company so it's a case of wait and see what happens. Would be nice to get it tomorrow so I have the weekend to learn/play but I doubt it will arrive on a Saturday - probably arrive on the 22nd!
Update: Another change but I have a UPS tracking number, and the date is now Monday 19th. Delivery lottery anyone?
Mine has done exactly the same thing. Had estimated delivery the 21 but now I have the 16 (but that was yesterday, WTF). I have a carrier tracking number but no assigned curried so I don't know where to look. Till now I have tried the tracking Nr. at UPS and TNT web site without any look. Did any of you guys got your ordered already delivered?
My had the same thing for Carrier Tracking number (the same 80xx number) but it changed before I went to bed to a 16 digit (i think) UPS code which works. Incidentely mines now on track for Tuesday after what seems the lighter of the two packages (ipod touch
) got held up somewhere.Typically nobody will be about on Tues, or Wed unless i can wangle a day off work to sit and play with my toys! V.excited.
Well, I finally got mine! I have to say that I am LOVING it. I am waiting for this weekend for the after-Thanksgiving sales to see what I can get for it for cheap LOL I wanna get a new carrying case and an external HD.

It's lovely, typing this message with it now. The keyboard only took a while to get used to it's actually really good.
Now just need to order some memory from Crucial.
I got it from the Apple store in Buchanan Street in Glasgow, they were selling Macbooks with 2Gb of ram but for £90 more, when you can get 2Gb for £40 from Crucuial and 4Gb for £95.
It's only been running for 45 minutes now and I'm in Love

How is your screen? Do you have any issues with it being noticeably brighter at the bottom? (for example when in Front Row or watchin full screen movies). How about the colors and viewing angle?
mine is considerably brighter at the bottom. I also went to my local Apple retailer and they said it's perfectly normal. I'm having a hard time believing this, but considering that my MacBook works just fine, doesn't have any defects, buzzing or keyboard problems, and the screen is dead/stuck pixel free, I think that a little bright ness in the bottom is something I can live with.
I just wouldn't stand waiting another 3 weeks for a replacement, not to mention that there is absolutely no guarantee that the replacement will be any better.
