Running the 10.1 beta 2 on both an Ultra 2 and S7. Getting weird behavior on the Ultra 2 with Music. The Watch app shows 1,633 albums downloaded to the watch, but I've downloaded only 5. When I scroll through the Downloaded menu on the watch it lists albums that haven't been downloaded (i.e., my only option is to Download or Delete from Library).

I've rebooted both the watch and the phone. I also repaired the watch and it happened again. The S7 is fine. Any thoughts?

Seems to working for me on my Ultra. I don’t download to the watch. I stream from the watch and leave my phone behind. However, I do tend to have one or two playlist downloaded for that deep hike with no cell service. I think I’ll leave things be. From what I’ve read, if I download one thing it will introduce the bug.

Has GPS been off for anyone in 10.1 Beta 2? I just did a 5 mile run on a loop I have run many times before but I had to go about 2 blocks further to reach 5 miles. (I also have a new Ultra 2 (coming from the 7), so that could be a factor as well.

There is an issue since early watchOS 10 betas that can cause parts of the running track not being recorded. You can see that in the Fitness app. It shows dots instead of a line.
Had this now three times with the stable releases. Always on interval runs and always on the first 150-200 meters.

Beta 3

  • Fixed: Increased power consumption might occur when an Apple watch running watchOS10.1 is paired with an iPhone with iOS 17.0 (or watchOS10.0 is paired with iOS17.1). (116348186)

Well …
It doesn’t fix the most frequent case (production) where watchOS 10.0.x is paired with iOS 17.0.x

The Music tab on the Watch app is unresponsive when I try to select it. On the previous beta, I couldn’t get Music to download to my Watch. I wonder if this beta has fixed the download issue and Music tab is unresponsive due to songs suddenly downloading. Here’s hoping!

The music unresponsive was an evolution of the failure to download. I had it happen on Beta 2

Music still not downloading to Watch; Music tab on Watch app unresponsive. Did a reset and still the same. Will report.

Does this fix the excessive battery drain in watchOS 10.0.1?

Any good news?

My music issues are more related to streaming from the watch to my AirPods without having to troubleshoot it for 20 minutes with reboots and other tricks.

I have a workaround that’s been working, but I’ll try the traditional way at the gym this morning.

People keep talking about dock mode being missing from watchOS 10, but have they tried double pressing the digital crown?

I have issues with background refresh of applications. In watchOS 9, Apple Reminders od Things 3 keep refreshing on background and works great. Since watchOS 10, I have issues with Apple Reminders that need to kill and reopen app to works. Things 3 doesn't refresh in background at all.
I already wrote on Things support and they didn't change anything, so it's watchOS related.

Iphone 12 with 17.0.3 and S5 with 17.1 dev beta 3. Battery drain persists. 10-12% per hour.

That’s not the same thing. In watchOS 3-9, you could set the dock to be either a list of recent apps or a set of apps that you choose for quick access (and those apps are kept in memory). Double pressing the crown in watchOS 10 brings up a list that looks like the old dock. But it only shows recent apps and cannot be customized at all.

Right. I also find it confusing to scroll through a list of screenshots of apps that I can not distinguish always. Would prefer to have application names and icons instead. Also unclear what the sorting order is of this list.
