Why to install a beta if you don't want to test and report problems ?
Just to be proud to live in the future ?
If people who meet issues in beta don't report them to Apple, what's the point ?
Some people just enjoy it and to see how it progresses from Beta to Beta.....being part of the journey from the initial beta to the release build. I know I do and find some enjoyment with it, have running been running betas from the Old Windows 98 beta builds (funny enough, I don't run any Microsoft Betas anymore as their program got quite complicated and I rely on my Windows devices for work more than anything else).

I would say there's little point in running a point release beta for sure if you do not plan to report bugs as there is little in the way of visible changes and you're only getting problems, but it is everyone's devices and if people enjoy it, so be it...we all enjoy little things from our devices.

I do tend to provide feedback, but I find it quite of useless.....as soon as iOS 17 Beta 1 came out I sent feedback about the music app not playing mp3s (with screen recording from both my iPhone and iPad, logs, etc). No one looked at it until the beginning of October, by then it was pointless. I also submitted feedback about all the music issue with WatchOS 10.1 beta last week, no response at all.

Interesting discussion.

Complaining about a bug & reporting it to get it fixed, or complaining about a bug and just venting here - both is perfectly valid.

But.

The goals differ, and the means to achieve them too.

Venting only? Fine. But without the expectation that the said bug will get somehow magically fixed.

Want a fix? Fine too. Go and report it to Apple.

Ranting about not having a fix but refusing to submit a report? That won’t work…

I never said it shouldn’t be reported. I said I have no problem with people venting and I for one do not assume out of hand that they haven’t reported it already. So I don’t feel the need to ask them or call them out. Benefit of doubt.

Only problem that I have is non-updating background apps like I mentioned before.

Background refresh is working flawlessly with Overcast. As you stated, Things is not refreshing, I find this annoying too. Not sure if this really is a watchOS 10 issue or a bug in the new Things app. They did rewrite a lot of stuff as their changelog says.

When turning on Sleep focus mode watch face wont turn off no matter what watch face you are on.. AW2 running 10.1 beta 3 , this was working fine through last betas for me.. sent in feedback ID # FB13281475, hoping for new beta or RC today and it will resolve this

Apple Music app on OS 10.1 RC no longer seems to crash when attempting to play music.

Also songs now upload again to my Watch from the Watch app.
My music app in the watch itself is no longer crashing but I still cannot load music 😒

Hi
Can you snooze the wake up alarm with the 2tap gesture? No way for me until now…
This works OK with normal alarms but if the Watch is in sleep mode there is no way to rise the watch and activate the screen to recognize the double tap gesture…

Anyone noticing GPS inconsistency for outdoor runs. I got and ultra 2 and immediate downloaded the beta, so not sure the source of issue. I have a 5 mile loop that on AW7 was always consistent but on Ultra on Beta the end point keeps changing but it is always longer than previously. The route looks good on the map. Haven’t run yet with the RC/GM. Will report back.

10.1 RC and 17.1 RC. Still have not fixed the issue in the iPhone watch app where timers don’t show on the faces in the iPhone watch app. They do show on the Apple Watch so not a big deal. Just cosmetic.

Anyone else not getting cycling workouts to count toward exercise time in Fitness on the latest RC? Just had two workouts record correctly with heart rate in proper range to count, but it did not show up in the rings or total exercise time. The workouts do show up in the Fitness app. After full restarts of phone and watch, no change. I reported it to Apple, but was curious if anyone else has seen this. Walking workouts seem unaffected.

Does anyone also have an issue with Apple Music, when trying to search for a song on the watch manually, if something is already playing, and you click on a new somg… the new song just won’t play? It shows an animation like it’s going to do something but then nothing happens.

Podcast and music apps are incredibly buggy for me. Particularly when trying to play directly from the watch. I’ve encountered the bug you describe.

I have been on 10.1 RC for a few days now. Anyone else not able to slide notification center down randomly which requires a restart of the watch to get that to pull down again?

Icon for the ECG App is not showing. Restarted watch, deleted and re-downloaded the App and no luck. It's there, I can bring it up when I press the corner I assigned the complication to, it's just not showing.
